A bit too liberal with "political prisoners"
Thank you for your many contributions to Wikipedia! Tiny thing: I recently noticed that you had mass-added a number of WWII Chinese collaborators with Imperial Japan to the category "Political Prisoners in China." While there isn't (AFAIK) a codified definition of "political prisoner," you don't see the term being used for collaborators in the West, and I would argue that they pretty clearly aren't what one thinks of when they hear the term. Again, thanks a billion for everything you do, I'd just be careful there. PaulRevered (talk) 23:55, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

Third Gulf War
Would you mind taking another look at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2026 March 6#Third Gulf War ↗ as I'm not certain that keeping all three pointing to different targets is what folk wanted here, particularly given the outcome of Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2026 March 6#Second gulf war ↗. Only two comments were left after the second two redirects were added to the discussion, BrechtBro clearly wanting them to have the same target and SavagePanda845's comment is frankly unclear to me about whether they realised there were multiple redirects being discussed. My (involved) gut feeling is that a relist would make for the clearest outcome here. Thryduulf (talk) 11:48, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
Testimonies redirect
Hi, you've recently changed the target of the {{no redirect|Testimonies}} redirect from Testimonies (novel) ↗ (where it's been for the last 8 years) to Testimony ↗ on the basis that it's a redirect from a plural form. The result is, unfortunately, that a reader who searches for "Testimonies", the exact title of the Patrick O'Brian novel, expecting to be taken straight to the Good Article covering that novel, is unexpectedly taken to a completely different place from which there is no path back. I suggest that {{no redirect|Testimonies}} should be reverted back to the book article, with perhaps with a new hatnote reference there to Testimony ↗. Alternatively, {{no redirect|Testimonies}} could be converted to a DAB page. MichaelMaggs (talk) 14:12, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

GAN reviews
Hello, thanks for pitching in. With regards to the GAN reviews being raised at WT:GAN, it is generally expected to have a bit more information even for the things that pass, sort of like the notes you have added for stability. So for images for example you might say there are two images, both PD. As part of this, it is expected to explicitly mention which sources were checked for text-source integrity and copyvio. Some people put these in a list, some people mention them in prose, the format isn't too important so long as a third-party looking at the review later will understand it. Galija ↗
Hello! I've noticed that you added Expand language tag to Galija ↗ article. I reviewed articles on the band in both English and Serbian, and the first part of the Serbian language article (the 1977-early 2010s period) contains essentially the same information as the English language one. The second part of the Serbian article is, in my opinion, of poor quality, because it basically just lists the band concerts during the last decade or so, including not so notable concerts. Nevertheless, I did include some notable information from the Serbian language article into the English language one. Additionally, Serbian language article might seem longer because it lists all of the band's releases, which are on English Wikipedia listed in Galija discography ↗ article, but also includes an unnecessary list of various artists compilations which feature Galija songs. If you agree, I think we could remove the Expand language tag. Ostalocutanje (talk) 20:36, 3 July 2026 (UTC)

help
Sorry to bother you. Could you help me with something on the Ruqaiya Sultan Begum ↗ page? My edits keep getting reverted, so I'd really appreciate another opinion. The issue is about a quotation from ''The Jahangirnama'' reads:
{{Quote box
|quote='''She was His Majesty's chief wife.'''
|source=The Jahangirnama (Thackston, 1999), p. 437 (Archive.org ↗)
}}
However, the reference quote had been changed to '''"chief consort wife"''', and the article also uses '''"chief consort"'''. I only changed the quotation back to match the original source and added the page link so anyone could verify it directly, but my edits have been reverted several times. If you have a moment, could you please take a look? I'd really appreciate a neutral opinion. Thanks! Furogh e Lotf (talk) 08:49, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
Vandalism
Someone was mad about the officiating in a World Cup match and decided to fabricate a Jewish background for one of the referees involved ↗ in order to blame the Jews for Argentina's defeat of Egypt. This lie has gone hugely viral. You had the brilliant idea to support this vandalism by adding the referee to categories of Jews. This is grossly irresponsible shocking behavior coming from an account with tens of thousands of edits and immediately throws into question the accuracy and viewpoint neutrality of all of your edits related to Jews. Did you really not find the edit suspicious?
There has been a major trend on social media in the last years of Muslim influencers fabricating Jewish identities for various criminals. X users "Jvnior" and "Parody Jeff" are particularly prominent in this regard, having perpetrated dozens of such fabrications. "Check early life" has been a white supremacist meme for several years at least. In this information climate, additions of Jewish background to biographies of newly controversial people should be presumed vandalism and immediately checked by responsible editors, not blindly reinforced.
One look at your user page tells me that you probably knew what you were doing. Blocky1OOO (talk) 20:02, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

::There’s nothing to it. I just looked him up, saw in his early life that it said he was born to Orthodox Jewish parents (and since the reference for that was in French, I couldn’t understand it) and decided to categorize him accordingly. I was kind of surprised to see that he was born to Orthodox Jewish parents. It was really a gnomish edit just like the tens of thousands of other ones I have done where I categorize redirects and sometimes articles. Thepharoah17 (talk) 02:53, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
:::This response does not make sense and is clearly a quick deflection to act innocent and mistaken, when, at best, this edit was done with sheer recklessness if not actual intent and knowledge. The sources you linked to were automatically translated to English and said nothing in French that would indicate that he was Jewish, let alone Orthodox Jewish. This "coincidental mistake" by you happens to line up very conveniently with Egypt's loss to Messi and the Egyptian community (one you seem to be part of based on your history) flooding the internet with conspiracy theories about Messi being "Mossad" and FIFA doing this because of "Zionism". It's shocking that there's a "reliable editor" on Wikipedia, drafting and editing articles, who is so willing and excited to promote totally fallacious and unsupported conspiracy theories in such shameless fashion. I really hope Wikipedia removes your ability to edit and deletes your page, as well as revisits your previous edits to other pages possible influenced by your inclination towards lying. ~2026-38750-63 ↗ (talk) 03:13, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
::::{{tq|The sources you linked to were automatically translated to English and said nothing in French that would indicate that he was Jewish, let alone Orthodox Jewish}} I'm not seeing that Thepharoah17 linked to sources anywhere; could you point to where that happened? <span style="border:3px outset;border-radius:8pt 0;padding:1px 5px;background:linear-gradient(6rad,#86c,#2b9)"><span style="color:#FFF;text-decoration:inherit;font:1em Lucida Sans">Sdkb</span></span> '''talk''' 03:41, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
:::::Thepharoah17, oh wait, by "looked him up," you mean that you read the article at the time, not that you looked him up off-wiki, and it appears the article at the time already included that info. So, contrary to the viral social media post, you were not the one who introduced the information. It appears that was {{np|Maqaumat}} here ↗. Maqaumat has since been indefinitely blocked ↗ by @Materialscientist.
:::::I think that resolves everything. For everyone's future reference, though, I would recommend being aware of WP:Jew-tagging ↗ and the fact that categorizing biographies of living people as Jewish is particularly sensitive. <span style="border:3px outset;border-radius:8pt 0;padding:1px 5px;background:linear-gradient(6rad,#86c,#2b9)"><span style="color:#FFF;text-decoration:inherit;font:1em Lucida Sans">Sdkb</span></span> '''talk''' 03:56, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
