1987 KY AG map

This comment is not at all saying your 1987 Kentucky AG map is inaccurate according to the source, but Pendleton county is certainly a bit sus. I wonder if it is at all similar to the 2024 TX GOP Presidential primary in Kent county where I beleive the results were certified while being flipped. Anyway, this is not a complaint, just a comment noting something interesting.

Also I would appreciate it if you could make a 1970 CT Senate election map by congressional district... Emfri1188 (talk) 01:18, 16 October 2025 (UTC)

:I double-checked Pendleton County before making that map because it just looked so out of place. Another example of election results probably being swapped apart from the 2024 Texas Republican presidential primary is probably the 2024 special and regular U.S. Senate elections in Nebraska. In those elections, Boyd and Red Willow counties voted more Republican in the regular election than in the special election despite the opposite being the case in every other county. I think it's been established on Wikipedia to go by what the certified election results say unless there is an explicit note suggesting otherwise like in :File:1976 United States Senate election in Nebraska results map by county.svg ↗, where the election canvass (https://sos.nebraska.gov/sites/default/files/doc/zip2.zip) on page 3 states that the vote in Platte County was misreported.
:On your second point, yes I can make a 1970 CT Senate election map by congressional district. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 17:16, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
::If you're interested in making county maps for other AG election pages that still don't have them, I made pages for the 1998 and 1994 Texas Attorney General elections a while ago.
::It should also be easier because I beleive they post % along with the results. Emfri1188 (talk) 23:17, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
:::Also I see you're adding maps to the WV election pages I created. Thanks! I would also like to add that if you search up "WV SOS + *election date*" there should be a seperate PDF seperate from that of the Blue Book that just focuses on elections. For some reason it isn't posted on their website or anywhere that I can find, but you have to search it up. Anyway, thanks for making those maps! Emfri1188 (talk) 23:24, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
::::You're welcome. I've been citing the West Virginia Secretary of State when using Blue Books because the Secretary of State's website refers people looking for election results prior to 2008 to the Blue Books (https://sos.wv.gov/elections/Pages/HistElecResults.aspx). Thomascampbell123 (talk) 00:01, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
:::::I have an election map request that you might be interested in. Here ↗ is the link for it. You *might* need to make an account to view the official results, which are here ↗, but that's up to you. Of course, make the map whenever or if you feel like it. Emfri1188 (talk) 05:45, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
::::::I'm sorry but I can't make a map for this election. I am not able to view the results without an account and I cannot find the results for this election on Dave Leip's Atlas. The Pennsylvania Department of State also only has results going back to 2000 (https://www.electionreturns.pa.gov/General/SummaryResults). Thomascampbell123 (talk) 19:08, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
:::::::I mean, the account is completely free, but okay. Wish there was a simple way to just share a screen shot with you :(. Anyways, if you want to do other elections (that you can see!) there are WV Supreme court elections that need maps. Emfri1188 (talk) 20:57, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
::::::::The 2000 Alabama Supreme Court election ↗ page has just been uploaded. I was wondering if you could atleast add the County map for the Chief Justice position. Emfri1188 (talk) 00:37, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
:::::::::Sure; I can actually add county maps for all of the positions that year since there's an easy to access document with results. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 00:42, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
::::::::::Thanks. Since you're doing all of it, I would say the GOP primary for the Chief Justice is also necessary to add, arguably being more important than the GE. Emfri1188 (talk) 00:46, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
:::::::::::You're welcome. I can add the chief justice Republican primary too since that same document includes those results as well. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 00:48, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
::::::::::::Could you make maps for 1992 United States House of Representatives elections in Connecticut ↗? Emfri1188 (talk) 19:36, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::I just made a district map for those elections. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 19:48, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::::::Could you do a county map for the 1866 West Virginia Constitutional amendment referendum ↗? Emfri1188 (talk) 16:57, 24 January 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::Yes, I just did. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 20:28, 24 January 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::::::::Two new maps if you want to do them. Both are municipality.
::::::::::::::::Data has always been available for the 1916 United States Senate election in Massachusetts ↗ but no one has seemed to do it yet, so I was wondering if you could.
::::::::::::::::The second is a page I just made, the 1987 Connecticut's 4th congressional district special election ↗. The town of Trumbull however is split. You could probably just base it off of the US Congressional district shapefile website. However here are a few images for it if you intend to do it. 1 ↗, 2 ↗ and 3 ↗. Emfri1188 (talk) 02:20, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::I'm sorry but I do not know the names and locations of municipalities in Massachusetts like I do with counties in most states. I also do not know how to use Inkscape so I cannot make a map for the page you made either. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 18:49, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::::::::::If you'd like, I can easily explain how to use Inkscape. It is actually very simple. ZackCarns (talk) 23:04, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::::Yes please. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 23:05, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::::::::::::Make sure that you properly have Inkscape up. It should look like a blank screen. To edit maps, download an existing SVG file and load it in Inkscape. I always use https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Elections_and_Referendums/USA_legend_colors, so definitely use that. To select objects use one of the top two tools on the far left side, but I always use the second option or the node tool as that works better. Just click on a random county/town and use the color template and you should be able to make maps. And the one option on the right side of Inkscape is layers and objects, which should allow you to look up individual counties/towns within the file without having to randomly click all around until you find the one you want. And that should be it. Let me know if you have any problems and I'll try to help the best I can.
::::::::::::::::::::I am currently making municipality maps for many Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont governors races, as well as Senate races for New Hampshire and one in Vermont. That will take me a couple weeks to get that all done, but that's all I'm working on right now. ZackCarns (talk) 23:14, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::::::I'm using a public library computer so I cannot use Inkscape. I can't even download it as an app. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 23:46, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::::::::::::::That sucks. If you are ever able to use Inkscape, that is the way to do it though. ZackCarns (talk) 23:58, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::::::::Alright, thanks. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 00:22, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::::::::Hey Zack, I use Inkscape for all maps I make, but I was wondering if the way I make them, which is manually copying all data into Google Sheets, having Google Sheets automatically convert the numbers into percentages, and then individually shading each county/municipality is the most efficient way to make them; is that how you make yours? Delcoan (talk) 23:21, 20 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::It looks like @ZackCarns recently made a municipality map for the :1916 United States Senate election in Massachusetts ↗ (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1916_United_States_Senate_Election_in_Massachusetts_by_Municipality.svg). Thomascampbell123 (talk) 23:02, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::::::::::Can you add ward maps to NYC mayoral elections 1856 - 1861 if you're available? Just make sure to google for the physical ward maps during each year to make sure the boundaries are accurate.
::::::::::::::::::I would also like to ask you to do some seperate articles when you have the time. there's also NYC data for 1860 United States presidential election in New York ↗, 1859 New York City Corporation Counsel election ↗, and a current draft 1863 NYC mayor ↗.
::::::::::::::::::I also usually rely off of the Tribune Alamanac and Political Register for "official" results, so while I also posted data for 1864 NY Pres, it may be inaccurate (it literally contradicted itself in the same newspaper in terms of results).
::::::::::::::::::Anyway, if you could do some of these, that'd be a great help. Thanks! Emfri1188 (talk) 02:34, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::::I'm sorry but I do not have the software available to create ward maps. I can create county maps and congressional district maps but that's about it. The 1860 presidential election in New York article already has a county map so I don't think that I can make any more maps for that article either. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 17:13, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::::::::::::Could you do NJ senate elections during the 1800s instead? Their Senate districts (counties) essentially function as States for the US Senate for NJ. Emfri1188 (talk) 01:05, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::::::No. I cannot find shapefiles for the older county maps of New Jersey and I cannot find New Jersey election results from before 1925 on the Secretary of State's website (https://www.nj.gov/state/elections/election-information-results.shtml). Thomascampbell123 (talk) 17:40, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::::::::::::::New jerysey's legislative manual can count as a source, which is in the Senate election articles. Also wikepedia's presidential election articles show shapefiles of the counties are similar of the modern ones today though, right? Flips are also provided in the pages already in existance. Emfri1188 (talk) 19:45, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::::::::I do not think that the county boundaries were exactly the same back then as what they are now. For example, :File:1889 New Jersey gubernatorial election results map by county.svg ↗ uses different boundaries than the current boundaries and I don't know exactly when those boundaries were used. There are no old maps for New Jersey in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Historic_standardized_SVG_county_maps_of_US_states, which is where I've been getting my shapefiles for older elections. Also, I'm simply not very interested in making maps for state legislative elections. I've made various maps for statewide and federal elections but do not have much interest in state legislative election maps. You're going to have to find someone else to complete this project. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 19:56, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::::::::::::::::Could you do the 1914 GOP Senate primary map using this ↗? Emfri1188 (talk) 23:50, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::::::::::Yes, sure. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 00:02, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::::::::::::::::::Can you make a map for this draft ↗ using this ↗? Also could you delete this whole conversation because I think it's very long and I could just start up another one if I want to talk to you again or something... thanks! Emfri1188 (talk) 16:47, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::I'm sorry but I cannot make this map because the font in the source you provided is very hard to read. Also, I would prefer to archive this conversation rather than delete it so that I have a record of it. If no one replies in this conversation for 90 consecutive days then it will be automatically archived. Virginia redistricting map

Hello! For the redistricting referendum in Virginia, I saw that you made a blank map for the results (as it has not happened yet) and was wondering what the standard amount of days before an election happens that we add the blank map to the infobox. Delcoan (talk) 14:13, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

:I do not think that there is a standard amount of days for that. I created the map you mentoined above map when I did because I was able to find a source that was already up for that referendum (https://enr.elections.virginia.gov/results/public/virginia/elections/2026-April-21-Special/ballot-items/01000000-b74a-1167-ae8c-08de7ea0aabf). It appears that most U.S. presidential election county maps for 2024 were created approximately 38 days before the election was held so that could be a good amount of days before an election to add a blank map to the infobox. I would recommend not to add blank maps to infoboxes before primary elections are held in the case of general elections and before ballot measures are certified to be on the ballot for ballot measures because that creates uncertainty. If a state's elections office already has a webpage up that will have election results once they're reported then I think it would be fine to add blank maps to the infoboxes of elections for that state at that point in time. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 17:17, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
::Cool, thank you. So, for this referendum, when should we add it? Delcoan (talk) 17:41, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
:::I already added it for the Virginia redistricting referendum. That map should remain hidden until election day and I allowed overwriting of it so you can fill in the results of it once they are reported and unhide the map thereafter. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 17:45, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
::::Oh, now seeing that it’s there but hidden.
::::For other elections though, such as the recent Wisconsin one ↗, a blank grey map was on the page for a few days prior to the election. Should that not have been there? Delcoan (talk) 17:48, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::Oh wait I think that one '''was''' hidden. But I think I’ve seen them on other elections with grey maps. Such as Hungary’s one today. Delcoan (talk) 17:52, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::I'm not exactly sure how to answer that question. I added blank gray maps to the 2025 New Jersey and Virginia gubernatorial election articles prior to those elections being held but @Putitonamap98 hid those maps afterward. That user would probably be able to answer your question more sufficiently. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 17:54, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

Stop removing content

Please stop removing content from numerous pages without linking to a discussion where WP:CONSENSUS ↗ has been reached about removing this information. You were fine to try, but per WP:BRD ↗, you now need to discuss this removal of data before you proceed. '''<span style="color:#00d5ff !important">Zack</span><span style="color:#007F94 !important">mann</span>''' (Talk to me ↗/<span style="color:orange !important">What I been doing</span> ↗) 20:37, 26 April 2026 (UTC)

:@Zackmann08 Okay, I'll try to reach a consensus on this. Is there already a consensus on including the popular vote and popular vote swing on U.S. House election articles? Thomascampbell123 (talk) 20:43, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
::I object to the mass removal of content from historical articles about elections because 1 user thinks that this information is misleading... There is clear precedent to include this information as it is statistical. Now if you are saying the data is '''wrong''', that is another issue. But your edit summaries claimed that it was "misleading" and that just isn't a valid reason to en-mass remove data from numerous articles. Data presented in a factual manner is not misleading. Requested help with creating Delaware County, PA map

Hello, I am trying to create a map of Delaware County's municipalities using the results of 1971 Pennsylvania Amendment 2 ↗. However, for some reason, when you click on some of the municipalities on this map, which I am using as a base, (File:Results of the 1972 Presidential Election in Pennsylvania by Municipality.svg), it selects, sometimes, 2 or 3 other municipalities, which then makes it impossible to shade some municipalities in the right color. Any idea how to fix this/what to do? Delcoan (talk) 23:27, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

:I would recommend using https://www.tutorials point.com/online_xml_editor.htm without the space between "tutorials and "point" instead of Inkscape to fill in municipalities for this map. That website allows you to change individual characters in the code instead of trying to click on different municipalities. I would infer that you're having the trouble you outlined above on Inkscape because some of the municipalities in Delaware County are very small, which may be tricking the program into believing that you are clicking on multiple municipalities at a time. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 23:38, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
::Thank you for your help! One question I have though is I don’t think it is specifically how small Delaware County’s municipalities are; for example, if you click a big municipality in some other county, chances are a different municipality in a different county will be selected. Is it possible the shapes of the map are just messed up? Delcoan (talk) 16:58, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
:::You're welcome. It is possible that the shapes of the map are just messed up. c:File:Results of the 1972 Presidential Election in Pennsylvania by Municipality.svg ↗ does not line up with the county map for that same election so I think your best option in this case would be to ask the original uploader of the file for help with editing it. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 17:27, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
::::Would you be able to see if the data would match on that website you mentioned above? I have digitized all of the results data into Google Sheets. Delcoan (talk) 04:42, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
:::::A big problem with that website I mentioned above is that it doesn't have labels for jurisdictions so I would have to individually change the color of each municipality to see which one is which. I also do not know the names of every municipality in Pennsylvania since the only states that have standardized municipality maps are in New England. As I said above, I think your best option in this situation would be to write to the original uploader of this file. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 17:24, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
