South Lebanon template question

Hello! I wanted to ask... may I see the URL you used to source this edit ↗? Please note that rule 4 of the South Lebanon Detailed Map module states that all edit summaries must be in the following format (including slashes): Icon(s) edited / Brief summary of changes made / URL(s) of source(s) used.

Thank you, and have a good day. 296cherry (talk) 19:56, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
:@296cherry: Hi! I heard it on TV news. But I also found the following source: https://alhurra.com/en/20572 <span style="color:#ffffff;background:black;">Tradedia</span>talk 20:54, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
::Alright, thanks a lot! 296cherry (talk) 21:48, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
:::@Tradedia I am working on an article to document and verify all information on Template:South Lebanon detailed map ↗; it is located at my sandbox page: User:296cherry/Sandbox2. When done, it will be titled “Territorial control during the 2026 Lebanon war”. This should make it much easier to make verifiable edits to the map. Please feel free to edit my sandbox as you wish. 296cherry (talk) 20:47, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
::::@296cherry: I would advise against creating such an article. From my experience, this will be too much work for the long run. There are not a lot of people working on this war. I think the most we can expect from contributors to the module is to copy paste a link (to the source) in the "Edit summary" of the module. If we require more than this, then we will drive away would be editors to the module. For editors who want to do more than the minimum, they can put the reference in an already existing article as described by Module:Israeli-Palestinian conflict detailed map/doc#"link=" parameter: linking towns to sources ↗. For example, if you click on the icon (on the map) that represent "Bint Jbeil", it will take you to the article on Bint Jbeil where you can see the control of the town as described in the text in the history section. So you will read: "During the 2026 Lebanon war amidst a ground offensive by the Israeli army the settlement became the site of a large battle alongside bombing from Israel.[25] The town was subsequently depopulated and destroyed.[26]". Here you will see the two sources ([25] and [26]) and be able to click on the link "large battle" which will take you to the article "Battle of Bint Jbeil (2026)". <span style="color:#ffffff;background:black;">Tradedia</span>talk 15:39, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
:::::Tbh, the main reason I’m creating it is to prove to users opposed to the template (on the 2026 Lebanon war talk page) that it isn’t original research. As for people who want to edit the module, I will leave it as an optional activity. I agree with you that the only “requirement” should be that the source URL is pasted in the edit summary on the module. I personally just like having a single location to verify everything and easily change information. 296cherry (talk) 17:25, 20 May 2026 (UTC)

2026 Lebanon war map

I think you've done a great job with this map: 100px ↗. I tried to create a map to show the "yellow line" the IDF established in Lebanon, so that it could be included in the section 2026 Lebanon war#Seventh week (13–19 April) ↗ as an illustration of the areas the "yellow line" delineates. I used this (Israeli) source for the line: https://israel-alma.org/idf-forward-defense-line/ I don't think there are any reliability issues there. I tried to roughly trace the line myself on a new layer and then convert it to SVG with Inkscape. But that didn't work out and I decided to pause and return to it later. I happened to come across your map by chance and I wanted to ask if you have any tips on what I can do to improve my "workflow"?
Thank you. <span style="font-family:Courier;color:#D73A49"><b>TurboSuperA+</b></span>[[User talk:TurboSuperA+|<span style="font-family:Courier-New">[talk]</span>]] 09:10, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
:@<span style="font-family:Courier;color:#D73A49"><b>TurboSuperA+</b></span>: Thank you for the compliment. It is thanks to all those who have edited Module:Israeli-Palestinian conflict detailed map ↗ that draws Template:Israeli-Palestinian conflict detailed map ↗. Below are my answers to your questions:
:*I don't know where you can find already-made SVG maps
:*I cannot comment on Inkscape since I have never used it and i have never created or edited an SVG image
:*The only resource i know is User talk:Newsboy39#Inkscape lesson. <span style="color:#ffffff;background:black;">Tradedia</span>talk 15:52, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
::{{tq|The only resource i know is User talk:Newsboy39#Inkscape lesson.}} That is what I was looking for. Thanks. It's not comprehensive, but it's the start I need. :) <span style="font-family:Courier;color:#D73A49"><b>TurboSuperA+</b></span>[[User talk:TurboSuperA+|<span style="font-family:Courier-New"><sub>[talk]</sub></span>]] 19:07, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
