MrDeepFakes - Sidenty involvement (COI disclosure)
Hi UltrasonicMadness, thanks for your work on the MrDeepFakes article — and for catching that IP edit.
I'm disclosing upfront that I work for Sidenty, so I'm not editing the article directly. I've posted a fuller note on the article's talk page, but the short version is: Sidenty conducted the original OSINT investigation that identified David Do in March 2024, over a year before the CBC/Bellingcat/Politiken collaboration. We shared our findings with ''Algemeen Dagblad'', who published a follow-up on April 3, 2024.
The two sources corroborating this are:
- Algemeen Dagblad (April 3, 2024): https://www.ad.nl/binnenland/pornobaron-met-russische-connecties-achter-deepfakes-tientallen-bners-hij-is-briljant-en-ongrijpbaar~ad2582e8/
- Sidenty's published methodology: https://sidenty.com/how-we-found-the-owner-of-mrdeepfakes/
I'd just appreciate you taking a look. Happy to answer any questions.
Thanks for your time.

:My sole edit to this page has been to create a redirect - the article so far has been written by @JWiki2151. UltrasonicMadness (talk) 13:47, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
::Hello there, just wanted to chime in and say that I was the one who significantly overhauled said article (as stated in one of my edit comments on the "History" section of that article) to be more inline with the Yamaha OPL ↗ article, as it contains information about the various FM chips in the OPL series, and I wanted to do the same thing with that article rather than just being a redirect to the Yamaha YM2203 ↗ article.
::Of course, I was the one who first thought about that idea like a year or so ago, but never got around to doing so because of personal reasons until this page was created, and that's why I've decided to take this opportunity myself and have a page/article similar to the aforementioned article that I've mentioned above for consistency reasons.
::Anyways, I am continuing to improve the article by adding in some more citations and such, and any user is free to edit the article as long as it is on-topic and has reliable sources. JWiki2151 (talk) 10:00, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
