25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, and thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia ↗. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, :Hampshire League 2004 ↗. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page ↗. If you post your comments there, other editors ↗ working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-talkinarticle --><!-- Template:uw-npov1 --> <b>J<small><small>ACKINTHE</small></small>B<small><small>OX</small></small></b> • <i><b><small><span style="color:#006400">TALK</span></small></b></i> 08:17, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

left|25px|alt= ↗Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to :Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing ↗. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution ↗, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content ↗. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Writing style
Hey Wfclegend, good work expanding multiple football club pages recently. One thing you should know for future reference, though, is that you should try to write in an encyclopedic manner as much as possible. I've seen you use exclamations and stuff generally along the lines of WP:PUFFERY ↗ on these articles (for example as we speak there is some on Awbridge F.C. ↗). Just try and limit that in the future. Also, please try and make your sources not be bare URLs. You can either use templates in the source editor, or just use the visual editor and have it convert them if that's easier.
Thanks. Tolozen (talk) 10:00, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
:Thanks very much for the positive feedback, much appreciated and I will remember this for future reference. Wfclegend (talk) 13:06, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Please do not remove maintenance templates ↗ from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to :Braishfield F.C. ↗, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary ↗. :OK, but can you please tell me what exactly what text (or word(s)) need amending? The article is accurate and does contain real information that has been referenced. I'm not sure what else to do, so any clear concise advice would be much appreciated. Thank you. Wfclegend (talk) 07:12, 16 July 2025 (UTC)
Minor edits
Hi - just looked at the history of Hedge End Rangers F.C. ↗ and saw that all your edits on it were marked as minor. Just wanted to let you know that the minor edit checkbox is meant to be for just really tiny edits (like formatting or fixing a single typo) - anything that adds or removes something to an article shouldn't be marked as minor. The amount of time you have spent researching is not a factor for notability, nor is the age ''per se''. The page isn't acceptable even disregarding notability.
If you have a conflict of interest ↗, you must declare it.
Also read the following regarding writing an article:
- you must provide '''independent verifiable sources ↗''' to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines ↗. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the club, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the club claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
:*Nothing you wrote, even if verified, shows how the club meets the notability criteria linked above.
:*The club doesn't seem to have any employees, management structure, funding or expenditure.
:*You appear to be writing the article backwards. Find independent verifiable sources ↗ first and write text based on what they say. Don't write the text in the vague hope you can find references later.
- You must write in a non-promotional ↗ tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
- There shouldn't be ''any'' url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
- You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy ↗. That applies ''even'' to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state '''clearly and explicitly''' that the text is '''public domain'''. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here ↗; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
The fact that other
articles have not been deleted doesn't help you, either they met the criteria or should be deleted as well. See What about article x? ↗. Also note that many articles would have been accepted before the notability guidelines were made stricter.
Your text comes nowhere close to meeting Wikipedia editing standards; if you try again, write it as a draft and submit for review, but bear in mind that it might be rejected on notability anyway.
Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources ↗.
I now see that you have contributed to several other club articles, which have the same problems, with references absent or of very poor quality (such as the clubs' websites).
I'll leave those for now, but you would do better to get those up to scratch before you seek to add to their number <b style="font-family:Lucida;color:red">Jimfbleak</b> - <i style="font-family:arial;color:green">talk to me?</i> 15:41, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

Tone and neutrality
Hi, just some further advice following some my edits and comments I can see above.
An encyclopaedia has a dry, neutral and factual tone. Wikipedia does not have any opinion about a club's season, good or bad. It does not have an opinion whether relegation is unfortunate, or promotion is well deserved. It does not think it sad when a club has to wind up.
It does not decide if something happens "soon" or "immediate". If it is notable that something happened on a date, include it and let the reader decide if that is soon, or late.
That doesn't mean you cannot say any of the above, if they are attributable opinions that you can provide a cite for. It also of course help if it is the opinion of someone notable. An expert, an authority or a recognised commentator. But you cannot have it appear as either your, or Wikipedia's, opinion.
You're writing some good stuff, you just need to adopt the right style of writing. <span style="color: green;">Escape Orbit</span> (Talk) ↗ 14:07, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Awbridge FC.jpg
Thanks for uploading :File:Awbridge FC.jpg ↗. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags ↗ to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list ↗, click on this link ↗, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions ↗. Thank you for your cooperation.<!-- User:OrphanBot/untagged-new --> --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:30, 31 August 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to :Whitecroft & Barton Sports F.C. ↗. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up :Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images ↗. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE ↗). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
{{para|image|{{var|<nowiki>thumb|Some image caption ↗</nowiki>}}}}
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
{{para|image|{{var|SomeImage.jpg}}}}.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as {{para|caption|{{var|Some image caption}}}}. Speedy deletion nomination of Wellow F.C.
Hello, Wfclegend,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username SnowyRiver28 and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Wellow F.C. ↗, for deletion, because a consensus decision ↗ previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process ↗ instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can <span class="plainlinks">'''F.C.}}&action=edit§ion=new&preload=Template:Hangon_preload&preloadtitle=This+page+should+not+be+speedy+deleted+because...+ contest this deletion ↗'''</span> but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Wellow+F.C.&subtype=delete|deleting administrator}}.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with <code><nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>SnowyRiver28<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>. And, don't forget to sign your reply with <code><nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></code> . Thanks!

Hiya. I've moved your article to draft where you can work on it in peace. The sources need to be properly identified, ideally with ISBNs but certainly with year of publication, publisher, location, page number. Ideally verifiable sources are best. Use the citation template for this. When the article is properly sourced, please do ping me and I'll review it into mainspace same day. It's potentially a great article - it just needs that sourcing to be properly done! Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 14:08, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
:Hi Alexander, thanks very much for the good feedback. The books mentioned are 100% genuine (expertly written by local authors) but unfortunately most are privately produced or just handbooks without an ISBN number. However, I have added in page numbers. The club that this article is about are well known and are most worthy of inclusion. Wfclegend (talk) 22:03, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

Football club notability
Hello. Please could you stop creating (and removing proposed deletion templates from) articles on clubs who have never played at what is now step 6 or or above. We have nearly two decades of deletion discussions on English football clubs and there is clear consensus that a club that has never played at step 6 or in the FA Cup/Vase is not notable, except in exceptional circumstances (for example, Wallsend Boys Club). Cheers, <span style="color: orange;">Number</span> <span style="color: green;">5</span><span style="color: blue;">7</span> ↗ 19:52, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
:Dear sir, I am sorry that these articles are not acceptable and will not be doing anymore. However, please do not delete Hedge End Rangers, AFC Netley and Fordingbridge Turks. I have short notes explaining why I think these should remain. If you need anymore information, please let me know. Thank you. Wfclegend (talk) 13:09, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
