Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia ↗! Thank you for your contributions ↗; however, ''please'' remember the essential rule of respecting copyright ↗s. '''Edits to Wikipedia may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless that text is available under a suitable free license ↗.''' It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you ''can'' clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is the Teahouse ↗, or you can {{edit|Special:MyTalk|click here to ask a question on your talk page|section=new|preload=Help:Contents/helpmepreload|preloadtitle=Help me!}} and someone will be along to answer it shortly. As you get started, you may find the pages below to be helpful.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name ↗ on talk pages using four tilde ↗s (<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! <!-- Template:Welcome-copyright --> GMH Melbourne (talk) 07:08, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

Mass additions of images

Please do not add multiple images to articles without ensuring that each image adds significant encyclopaedic value to the article. Wikipedia articles are not intended to be repositories of images about the subject. Please see MOS:PERTINENCE ↗ for more on this. Your mass additions to :Stream ↗, :Habitat ↗ and others have been or will be reverted. <span style="background-color:lightblue">'''''&nbsp;Velella&nbsp;'''''</span><span style="background-color:lightblue">&nbsp;''Velella Talk ''&nbsp;</span> 21:40, 18 July 2024 (UTC)

Adding picture of wrong people

At Xavier Johnson (American football) ↗ and Frank Gore Jr. ↗, you added pictures of the wrong people. <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 16:47, 23 July 2024 (UTC)

Adding images to taxoboxes

Hi, it's good to add images to taxoboxes (e.g. as at ''Alangium villosum ↗'') but please don't change other parameters (like setting {{para|genus}} to the binomial) as it destroys the taxobox. Also, image captions should not be redundant, so if you add an image of a species to a species article, we don't add a caption that says it's that species – what else would it be? Peter coxhead (talk) 10:44, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

:thanks for the correction...i think i changed something by mistake.i will try to be careful next time Zahara5555 (talk) 11:08, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

Do not do copyright violation

Don't crop and saturate someone else's copyrighted images and claim them as your own. It is a serious copyright violation. Also you added image to ''Sinemys ↗'' which is reclassified to other genus, shown in image description. Please watch out description before adding image. Have a nice eye. Ta-tea-two-te-to (talk) 15:21, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

:Oh also the image you uploaded as ''Erigeron consimilis'' is ''Erigeron concinnus''! Do not do that again, have nice eyes. Ta-tea-two-te-to (talk) 04:45, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
:thank you for the correction..i was not aware.the people i had inquired from told me it was allowed, now that i know its not,i will not do it again 197.239.9.98 ↗ (talk) 12:42, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
