Need for Gain / Loss for census estimate



As in this edit ↗, why was the change from 2010 to 2020 removed? Why is it necessary to track changes in the census estimate, which is based on a small sample, for which data fluctuations are often significant and which is recalculated every year, even for previous year estimates?
