Permission Request

I came across some of your photos on the Tualatin, Oregon wiki page. I work at a local credit union (a not-for-profit) and we're looking for some local photographs that may be used in our new branch.

I wanted to see if I could get permission to print and post photos in our branch? I'm not sure the best way to attribute the photos would be - perhaps adding your name to the bottom of them?

Please let me know if this is something you'd be amenable to. I greatly appreciate your time! Afoster2022 (talk) 21:46, 15 November 2022 (UTC)

Your (or someone else) assessment of Ahmed Umar (artist) ↗

Hi. I’m not sure if it was you or someone else who rated/assessed Ahmed Umar (artist) ↗ article as a start. To be honest it was a bit disappointing as I though the article should at least get a C. anyway, I wonder if you are able to give a feedback to help improving the quality of the article (even you if were not the one to assess it am sure you have expertise to weigh in) FuzzyMagma (talk) 00:39, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
:The issue is the early life section. Two sentences cover about 20 years of their life, or more than half of their life. I understand little is known, but without more the article is incomplete. We have articlex that have all there is to know about 2000 year old Romans, but when that article is only a paragraph long, it is still a stub. Aboutmovies (talk) 05:04, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
::Got that .. will revert the rating back then. Hopefully with time more information reveals itself and that section improves. Thnx @AboutmoviesFuzzyMagma (talk) 20:58, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

WikiProject rating

Hi there! Thanks for all your contributions! I noticed you'd recently done some WikiProject rating and wanted to make sure that under WP:PIQA ↗ we're moving to only having the quality ratings in the banner shell rather than for individual projects. :Thanks {{Reply to|Kj cheetham}} but until it actually works properly, it should not be implemented. Here is an example ↗ I see fairly often where it is assessed in the banner shell, but shows up as unassessed in WP:BIO. Aboutmovies (talk) 01:05, 18 March 2024 (UTC)

:::{{u|Aboutmovies}} In almost all cases it's worked fine, and the times it's hasn't it's been a case of errors in the original code which the bot couldn't understand. In this case I posted about it at Template_talk:WikiProject_banner_shell#Possible_bug? ↗ and Qwerfjkl spotted an extra } which has solved it. Tracking categories are being set up to look for various types of errors, but on the whole it's been quite successful I think with literally millions of talk pages converted. -20:02, 18 March 2024 (UTC)

WikiProject banner shell issues

FYI, your edits to talk page headers have broken some of these templates. You need a vertical bar after "WikiProject banner shell" for it to work and not think it's some nonexistant template "WikiProject banner shellclass". Example of correction ↗. <del>Additionally "living" is not a recognized parameter, please use "blp" instead as described at Template:WikiProject banner shell ↗.</del><ins>(Preexisting issue, striking.)</ins> I've addressed all existing cases of the missing bar since they created red linked templates. Thank you and best wishes. Zinnober9 (talk) 03:23, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
:{{ping|Zinnober9}} Gee thanks, and thank you for assuming good faith. Hopefully you get the sarcasm, as you clearly did not AGF here. This was a simple typo of the | not being pasted on a few pages. Look through my edits and you will see where I do use it the vast majority of the time (I have over 400k so it might take you a while), so a lesson was not needed. That said, please show me a single edit in which I did absolutely anything with the BLP parameter in those edits you needed to fix? When you do not find it, do the right thing and apologize. Aboutmovies (talk) 04:30, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
::I misread the situation and completely failed to see before commenting how many pages you've edited and how many were doing this type of banner adjustment. I was not assuming bad faith, I had just thought you were someone who had less familiarity of these templates copying something they'd seen elsewhere and trying to apply it here overlooking some broken syntax, leaving behind a broken template; something I see and fix regularly. My only intent here was to keep that error from multiplying since it had been six or more pages. I still feel it was fine to message you about the issue, but I should have gone about it differently. I'm sorry for overlooking your skilled history, and you are correct that the living to blp comment does not apply. Since it was preexisting and not something you added, I've struck that above. Sorry for misreading the situation, thank you for your edits, best wishes. Zinnober9 (talk) 17:12, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Destubathon of the Americas ↗

You are invited to participate in the '''Destubathon of the Americas ↗''', a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to £2000 ($2680) in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Extra line break on talk pages?

Hello, thanks for your review on :John P. T. Mathias ↗ and :George W. Padgett ↗. Curious why you added a line break on both edits after the biography template on the talk page (diff1 ↗ and diff2 ↗). Haven't seen this widely used anywhere and can't find a MOS that references this. --Engineerchange (talk) 13:19, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
:I use an automated tool, so it appears it is adding it for some reason. It's an old tool, so not sure if the creator is even around to update it, and not sure where I installed it to look at the code. Aboutmovies (talk) 22:03, 3 June 2026 (UTC)

Anna Takanen ↗

Hi, Aboutmovies. Thank you for assessing the article I wrote about Anna Takanen ↗, I appreciate it. I do want to ask, though - you have assessed it at start class, and I was hoping it had come out higher. Do you have time to give me any more specific feedback? Thank you either way. Tacyarg (talk) 22:42, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
:It is close to being a C class, it just needs more. For example the early life section does not even have a full birth date, doesn't discuss what schools they went to before what appears to be a college type school, or say siblings (if any). Were they in any plays/productions in school (likely). See this B class article ↗ for an example of a fully-fleshed out section of this type. For people who are not super notable it can be difficult to find this sort of info, but a full biography has these sorts of info. Aboutmovies (talk) 21:28, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
::Thanks for replying. Tacyarg (talk) 07:10, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
