I saw that you made some good faith edits on History of Iowa ↗ where you added periods to sentence fragment image descriptions, such as adding a period to the language "Map of the Iowa Territory ↗". The preference on Wikipedia is not to have periods where the text accompanying an image is a sentence fragment.

The Wikipedia Manual of Style at MOS:CAPFRAG ↗ says "Most captions are not complete sentences, but merely sentence fragments, which should not end with a period or full stop. If any complete sentence occurs in a caption, then all sentences, and any sentence fragments, in that caption should end with a period or full stop."
