Connecticut primary
Hello @Aesurias, I wanted to thank you for your fixes to the mistakes I had left in my previous edit to the CT-HOR ↗ page. In regards to the presumptive nominees, from my understanding of Connecticut GS Sec. 9-416 ↗; since all challengers, except those in the 1st district, had failed to achieve either 15% of the delegates in the state convention or 2% of district democrat signatures to petition for a primary, the nomination is legally binding and the primary for that specific office is cancelled. I'm writing to you directly to see if you can confirm if this is the case to avoid any erroneous edit on my end. Thanks again! Thisisanonymous21st (talk) 17:45, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
:Technically yes, the primary elections are cancelled in these districts, (although of course, residents still vote for other offices on that day) but the general election ballot has not been certified yet, because other primaries have not taken place yet. At that point, the "presumptive" label is removed. At ''this'' point, it is possible for a candidate switch to occur for any number of reasons (most likely because a current presumptive nominee passed away). Someone like Rosa DeLauro may not be facing a primary challenger, but at this point, she still isn't on the general election ballot as her party's candidate, and simply putting "nominee" suggests that she is. aesurias <small>''(ping me in your reply, or I won't see it)'' (talk)</small> 23:48, 1 July 2026 (UTC)

Question about recent deletions on Katie Wilson page
Hello, Aesurias. I saw that you recently deleted a significant amount of a paragraph that I wrote for the Katie Wilson ↗ article. In your edit summary you wrote, "pov, Katie Wilson" and you deleted the word "Mayor" in a few instances where I wrote "Mayor Wilson". However, I also noticed that you deleted a substantial portion of the last paragraph in the "Tenure" section also. You deleted two sentences that I wrote:
<del>Wilson has proposed spending cuts and tax increases in order to balance the city's budget.</del>
and
<del>According to the business-focused nonprofit ↗ Downtown Seattle Association (DSA), the payroll tax is expected to bring in around $410 million in 2026 alone The DSA has also blamed the payroll tax for job loss in the city.</del>
Instead of starting an edit war, I would like to know why these statements were removed from the article. Was there something that I wrote that was nonfactual or incorrect? Please respond so I can better understand your rationale. Thank you. NateAnderson84 (talk) 19:01, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
:I wrote "{{tq|pov, "Mayor Wilson"}}". She isn't the Supreme Leader, using "Mayor Wilson" is not appropriate on Wikipedia.
:I can't say whether or not they are nonfactual because I don't live in Seattle or know much about that. There was problematic tone in the article though – not necessarily intentional, just not quite right for Wikipedia.
:There is no indication that the Downtown Seattle Association is a notable or relevant organization or that their analysis is trustworthy. Also, sidenote, using "DSA" as their acronym makes it sound like the actual DSA ↗ said that.
:I am happy to work on a re-written version with you. For example, "Wilson has proposed spending cuts and tax increases in order to balance the city's budget" should just read "In response, Wilson has proposed spending cuts and tax increases". aesurias <small>''(ping me in your reply, or I won't see it)'' (talk)</small> 22:13, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
::What about the DSA makes you believe they are not a "notable" or "relevant organization"? Why do you think that their analysis is untrustworthy? Also, I don't believe using the acronym DSA will mislead readers into thinking they are the Democratic Socialists of America because I made sure to write out the full "Downtown Seattle Association" name before referring to them as "DSA".
::Secondly, I will concede to the point that the mayor should not be referred to as "Mayor [surname]. After looking into it, I discovered that Wikipedia advises against using honorifics as part of a person's name.
::Thank you for taking the time to respond. I hope we can come to a compromise regarding the DSA issue. NateAnderson84 (talk) 00:07, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
:::Well, could you demonstrate the relevance of this organization? Their opinion on a topic shouldn't really be mentioned unless they are notable enough to have their own Wikipedia page – do you think this is the case? aesurias <small>''(ping me in your reply, or I won't see it)'' (talk)</small> 03:55, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
