Gabriel Fragnière ↗
Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person ↗: '''Gabriel Fragnière ↗'''. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source ↗ that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy ↗. Please add references ↗ as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Introduction
Hiya, I see you added an "Introduction" heading to Dominique Strauss-Kahn sexual assault case ↗; this is not the usual practice on Wikipedia articles. The lead area (above the table of contents) is what we use as the summary and introduction. You can read more about this idea at MOS:LEAD ↗ --'''Errant ↗''' (chat! ↗) 14:06, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, but this lead is unusually long, which also is not in line with the usual practice. A summary should be just a couple of lines. If not separated as an 'introduction', than the rest should be information to be included in the chapters that follow. Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 14:14, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
:Hiya, no the lead summary can be of any reasonable length - but the accepted format is ''four paragraphs'' - it summarises what is contained in the rest of the article. Sometimes leads contain new information not elsewhere in the article; this isn't accepted practice but usually it gets worked into the article eventually. As I mentioned; MOS:LEAD ↗ has a lot more detail on this. --'''Errant ↗''' (chat! ↗) 14:28, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Proposed deletion ↗ of Patricia Carson ↗
left|link=|48px| ↗
The article Patricia Carson ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because, under Wikipedia policy, all '''biographies of living persons ↗''' created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source ↗ that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners ↗, or ask at the help desk ↗. Once you have provided at least one reliable source ↗, you may remove the {{tl|prod blp}} tag. '''Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced.''' If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can {{#ifexist:Patricia Carson|request that it be undeleted|request that it be undeleted ↗}} when you are ready to add one.<!-- Template:ProdwarningBLP --> Regards, SunCreator (talk) 11:11, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

ennoblement of de Schaepdrijver
As I posted on the article's talk page:
As published in the Moniteur Belge of 19 July 2016:
The fact one has to "buy" a certificate and heraldic arms, are a mere formality but the ennoblement itself dates from the date of the royal decree if the procedure is followed through. The right is only forfeited if those obligations haven't been fulfilled within 5 years of the Royal Decree. For simplicity's sake it is better - and is also up to now general practice - to make abstraction of this, and to only note if and when the rare case arises that those conditions are not met (like with Marie-France Botte )-- fdewaele ↗ 20 July 2016, 13:17.
::Sorry, but you are wrong. The ennoblement will date not from 10th of july 2016, but from the date when obligations are fulfilled and accepted. When they are, the ennoblement is confirmed, and the date is the one of this confirmation. You can see this as fact by all the ennoblements of the last years. Therefore my change is correct and yours is not. Marie-France Botte is not the only example. best regards, Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 14:28, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Hello,
I am very appreciative of the extensive additions you have made to the above article. Could you please return to it and add citations? so that someone doesn't delete the additions as unsourced material.
Thank you.Georgejdorner (talk) 06:32, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
To Georgejdorner,
- I am somewhat puzzled by your request. I am not a believer in footnotes and citations on encyclopedias, because they are often obsolete after a shorter or longer time. Several have nonetheless been added by you or others to this article. I do not object against them. On the other hand I am always providing the adequate literature, like it has always been the case on encyclopedias on paper. All the informations added by me in the article (5 years ago!) are based on this literature. If somebody would take pleasure in deleting this information, I wish him well and I pity the encyclopedia. :Can you explain what this template indicates as a not resolved problem? I do not see any. Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 21:59, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
::From the template - "This biography of a living person needs additional citations for verification. Please help by adding reliable sources...". There are only two relatively weak citations in the Biography section for example. Hope this explains the concern. Dl2000 (talk) 22:44, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
::: I continue to object. There are not only two citations (on what basis ar you judging them as 'relatively weak'?). There are also, mentioned under 'literature', four references to more general articles concerning René Jacobs. And then the multiple recordings mentioned, easily verifiable. In general I object strongly against the idea of some users that every information must receive a particular reference. Wikipedia is not a historical study, but an encyclopedia and must be considered and worked upon as such. The Encyclopedia Brittanica is the shining example! Even the demanding German Wikipedia is, since 2005 satisfied with the presented citations and references of this living person. Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 10:15, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on :Lambertus Vossius ↗, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Ways to improve Poséidon Castle
Hello, Andries Van den Abeele,

Removal of maintenance templates
25px|alt=Warning icon ↗ Please stop. If you continue to remove maintenance templates ↗ without resolving the problem that the template refers to, as you did at :Poséidon Castle ↗, you may be blocked from editing ↗. <!-- Template:uw-tdel3 --> 2A02:C7C:4D0A:A500:A898:9976:74A6:BA58 ↗ (talk) 09:33, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
How can you block someone, while you are not even a registered user?
I do not simply remove templates, I add references, which make that the template becomes obsolete. Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 09:36, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, Andries Van den Abeele. We welcome ↗ your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about ↗ on the page :Poséidon Castle ↗, you may have a conflict of interest ↗ (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the '''conflict of interest guideline ↗''' and '''FAQ for article subjects ↗''' for more information. We ask that you:
- '''avoid editing or creating''' articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- '''propose changes''' on the talk pages ↗ of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard ↗), including links or details of reliable sources ↗ that support your suggestions;
- '''disclose''' your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see {{Section link|Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI}});
- '''avoid linking''' to your organization's website in other articles (see {{Section link|Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming}});
- '''do your best''' to comply with Wikipedia's content policies ↗.
In addition, you are '''required''' by the Wikimedia Foundation ↗'s terms of use ↗ to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure ↗.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.<!-- THE FOLLOWING CATEGORY SHOULD BE REMOVED IF THE USER IS BLOCKED, OR IT IS DECIDED THAT THIS USER DOES NOT HAVE A COI, OR THIS TEMPLATE HAS BEEN IN PLACE FOR A WHILE WITH NO ACTION. -->{{#ifexpr: ({{#time: U | now}} - 1754991507) < 13150000 | {{PAGENAME}} ↗ | }}<!-- Template:uw-coi --> 2A02:C7C:4D0A:A500:A898:9976:74A6:BA58 ↗ (talk) 09:38, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- This is really a rather incredible reaction. I am living in Belgium and I have no personal interest whatsoever in what the owners of the castle are doing. I never met these Canadians. My only interest is an interest for the common good, namely the restoration of an abandoned castle, by two people who take an important risk by doing so. As a lifelong member of the ngo 'International Council for Monuments and Sites' I am indeed interested in conservation of monuments, but in no way am I interested in the way your mail implies. If describing activies aiming at conservation of monuments would be considered as "promoting anything", then it would be very poor thinking and would have to be reported to UNESCO-World Heritage. The article is just an objective information, no more, no less. Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 09:51, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
:::The connection is very simple: there is none, whatsoever.
:::I resent very much the suspicion you are creating, based on absolutely nothing. Shame on you.
:::BTW, can you not read? I told you this already this morning in the mail above. Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 17:53, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
::::Indeed, you had already confirmed that you're not connected with the owners of the castle. But my follow-up question was whether you're connected with a certain Wikipedia account, and thank you for confirming that you're not. 2A02:C7C:4D0A:A500:E5F7:99C1:9283:4F81 ↗ (talk) 18:26, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
::::: With what account? I do not understand what you mean. Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 20:57, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
:::::: User:Chateauposeidon, as noted above. 2A02:C7C:4D0A:A500:E5F7:99C1:9283:4F81 ↗ (talk) 07:39, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
::::::: I have nothing to do with an account "User:Chateauposeidon", in whatever language. I told you that allready. By all means, when I search to find such an account, I must conclude that it not even exists, not in French and not in English. So, what is your problem? I ask you to stop this incredible harassment, which has no reason. Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 08:46, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
::::::: I now see that there is an account "user:chateauposeidon" on Wikimedia Commons. With this account also I have nothing to do. It is after I independently wrote the article on this castle, first in French, and afterwards in English and Dutch, that the owners of the chateau sent copyright-free photos for illustration to Wikimedia Commons. What is wrong with that and what can give you any suspicion that this account was made by me? And even if it was (quod non), what is wrong with that? What is more than wrong is that you are operating on Wikipedia, without even being a regular user. Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 09:09, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
:::::::: Yes, as I said above, thank you for confirming that you're not connected with User:Chateauposeidon. And actually, the photos were all posted 12 hours before the French article was created, by another account (User:~2025-35049-2), and a few hours later you added to that French article, along with the photos. The Dutch article was created by a third account (User:~2025-35819-5) the following day, which again you also expanded. See the edit histories of both articles for the timeline. The timing seemed slightly odd to me, so it was worth asking if you were connected with User:Chateauposeidon account. But you have confirmed that there is no connection. That's all. 2A02:C7C:4D0A:A500:C139:2955:CFD:8065 ↗ (talk) 09:53, 13 August 2025 (UTC)

About Koen Deprez ↗
Given that Deprez was described as the :enfant terrible ↗ of Belgian architects here ↗, I would have expected that there would have already been an existing Fr:Koen Deprez ↗ or Nl:Koen Deprez ↗ article. As far as I can see, none of those have been created. I seek your opinion about this. Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 10:44, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
: You are quite right, it is somewhat puzzling. I do not know him personnaly, but wrote the article on the instigation of a friend. I thought he was wiki-worth. I shall afterwards also introduce an article in the Wikipedia in Dutch and perhaps in French.I wil make use of the reference you sent me, to add some informations on the article. You can see on what he is writing that he is somewhat of the "esoteric" type, and I suppose that with my more matter-of-fact mentality I would not have much in common with him. But that does not mean that I cannot see that he is an interesting person, and well considered by authoritative people. It is a pleasure meeting you, at least in writing! Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 11:53, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
Koen Deprez ↗ moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to Koen Deprez ↗. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because '''it needs more sources to establish notability'''.
I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page ↗.
When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ArthurTheGardener (talk) 17:57, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
