Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :File:Plaque on Lochaline House ruins.png ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗

A tag has been placed on :File:Plaque on Lochaline House ruins.png ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because it is a copyright violation ↗ and has no credible claim of non-free use ↗ or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators '''will be blocked from editing ↗'''.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you ''must'' verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗ for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy ↗ for more details, or ask a question here ↗.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. <!-- Template:Db-imgcopyvio-notice --> <!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> — Ирука13 ↗ 12:03, 6 December 2025 (UTC)

:Hello Suitskvarts,
:Thank you for reviewing my draft article on Angus Eric Methven Sinclair-Thomson. I can assure you that the research, sources and structure are entirely my own work. I have spent a considerable time researching the subject and the article is based on archival material, regimental histories, the London Gazette, and other published sources.
:As a relatively new Wikipedia editor, I have occasionally used ChatGPT only for limited assistance in locating sources and checking that the wording follows Wikipedia’s neutral encyclopaedic style. No content in the article was generated wholesale.
:If there are particular passages or aspects of the draft that appear problematic or unencyclopedic, I would be grateful if you could indicate them so that I can revise the article appropriately before resubmitting.
:Many thanks for your time

About your edit on Camperdown Works ↗

Your edit https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Camperdown_Works&curid=37659053&diff=1343825922&oldid=1343600007|edit ↗ on Camperdown Works ↗ reads like AI. Especially the sentence, "[...] reportedly coordinated the work of about 300 weavers in the Lochee area, illustrating the scale of textile production already present in the district." I'm not quite sure how to go about this, as you've previously been warned for using LLMs to add content to Wikipedia. I'm going to go ahead and revert the edit. <span style="font-family:Verdana;color:#30232c;background-color:#f5dceb;">jiraijohnny˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚</span> (KISS ME GOOD-BYE.⋆˚꩜。) 17:00, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

:Thank you for flagging this and I appreciate the concern.
:The wording I added is based on published sources (particularly Whatley & Tomlinson, ''The Triumph of Textiles''). I had become concerned that this article might give the impression that the jute industry in Dundee developed in isolation, and I was trying to reflect the link historians make with the earlier linen industry.
:I can see that the wording comes across as too generalised and impersonal in places, and I’m very happy to rephrase or tighten the sentence, perhaps by attributing the point more directly to the source. Please let me know if you would prefer a shorter or more closely cited version.
:Thanks again for taking the time to review the edit. AndyMeven (talk) 10:30, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
::Well, your edit was not quite "too generalized and impersonal," it added unnecessary puffery and details like the exact amount of weavers at the complex. In addition, your response reads to me like AI. I'd like to have a discussion with you in your own words, if possible. <span style="font-family:Verdana;color:#30232c;background-color:#f5dceb;">jiraijohnny˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚</span> (KISS ME GOOD-BYE.⋆˚꩜。) 13:00, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
:::In light of your comments, I’ve reassessed my edit and agree that parts of it may come across as unnecessary or over-elaborate, which wasn’t my intention. I was aiming to give a little more context on the background to Dundee’s jute industry, but I agree that this may not be needed here. On reflection, the existing sentence at the end of the ‘History’ section is probably sufficient: “The firm was quick to adopt the most recent improvements and moved over from the linen trade to jute trade.” So, to be clear, I’m content to leave the article as you have edited it, and thank you for taking the time to review and comment. AndyMeven (talk) 10:45, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
::::Are you using AI to generate your replies to me? <span style="font-family:Verdana;color:#30232c;background-color:#f5dceb;">jiraijohnny˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚</span> (KISS ME GOOD-BYE.⋆˚꩜。) 12:37, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
:::::No - I’m writing these replies myself. I’m just trying to respond carefully and keep things clear and neutral in line with Wikipedia style. As I’ve said, I’m happy to leave the article as it now stands. Thank you again for your time. AndyMeven (talk) 13:58, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

It's not your call (or mine).
What I will say is that the last section is a version of WP:AIATTR ↗ - so rather than summarise that 1961 obituary's content and merely reference the source, it has LLM style started with name-checking the source and not really mentioning the contents, wrong way around, and contrary to the purposes of this project: Wikipedia is a summary of sources, not a name-check of sources that may or may not be worth summarising. LLM gave you that initial set of wording and no amount of word-mashing will get you around that, you have to forget that section, go to the sources, summarise them and put the citations in. You don't need to mention the Wasp and the Eagle per se, except within the reference citation, since W&E is not part of this subject's life or legacy.}}
