Rejuvenate WikiProject Skepticism

Hello - my name is Susan Gerbic (Sgerbic) and I'm writing to you because at some point you joined Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism ↗. This might have been months ago - or even years ago. With the best of intentions the project was created years ago, and sadly like many WikiProjects has started to go dormant. A group of us are attempting to revitalize the Skepticism project, already we have begun to clean up the main page and I've just redone the participant page. No one is in charge of this project, it is member directed, which might have been the reason it almost went dormant. We are attempting to bring back conversations on the talk page ↗ and have two subprojects as well, in the hopes that it might spark involvement and a way of getting to know each other better. One was created several years ago but is very well organized and a lot of progress was made, Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skeptical organisations in Europe ↗. The other I created a couple weeks ago, it is very simple and has a silly name Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skepticism Stub Sub-Project Project (SSSPP) ↗. This sub-project runs from March 1 to June 1, 2022. We are attempting to rewrite skepticism stubs and add them to this list. As you can see we have already made progress.

The reason I'm writing to you now is because we would love to have you come back to the project and become involved, either by working on one of the sub-projects, proposing your own (and managing it), or just hanging out on the talk page getting to know the other editors and maybe donate some of your wisdom to some of the conversations. As I said, no one is in charge, so if you have something in mind you would like to see done, please suggest it on the talk page and hopefully others will agree. Please add the project to your watchlist, update your personal user page showing you are a proud member of WikiProject Skepticism. And DIVE in, this is what the work list looks like https://bambots.brucemyers.com/cwb/bycat/Skepticism.html ↗ frightening at first glance, but we have already started chipping away at it.

The Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Participants ↗ page has gone though a giant change - you may want to update your information. And of course if this project no longer interests you, please remove your name from the participant list, we would hate to see you go, but completely understand.

Thank you for your time, I hope to edit with you in the future.Sgerbic (talk) 06:55, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

Language Status

Hi mate, thanks for your help with the idea about including Language Status in the Infobox. Hope you don't mind but I played in your sandbox to update NI (Not Included) to NE (Not Endangered). But I can't figure out how to make this reflect in your box at Template:Infobox_language/testcases#Language_status_test ↗. It still says NI instead of NE. Could you either update that or teach me how to please?

''The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes''

Hi. Thank you for adding the "chronology" entries in the infoboxes for the last 12 canonical Sherlock Holmes stories. However, for these entries I believe you are using the order in which the stories were published in ''The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes'', which was published in 1927. Please note that the order in which the stories are collected in the book is not the same as the chronology in which the stories were originally published between 1921 and 1927. For example, "The Mazarin Stone" (1921) was the first of these 12 stories to have been written and to appear in ''The Strand Magazine'' and "Shoscombe Old Place" (1927) was last, while in the book "The Illustrious Client" (1924) was the first story printed and "The Retired Colourman" (1926) was last. I think that Doylean bibliographers consider the chronology of first appearances to be more significant than the order the stories appeared in the book. If I can be helpful with any more information on this subject, please let me know. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 01:18, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged :Tempate:DB style ↗ for deletion, because it seems to be a test. Did you know that the Wikipedia Sandbox ↗ is available for testing out edits?

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :Template:DB style ↗

A tag has been placed on :Template:DB style ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion ↗, at Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2021_December_20#Template:Th-rail-color_and_other_unused/orphaned_rail_templates ↗. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Template%3ADB+style|deleting administrator}}, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here ↗. <!-- Template:Db-repost-notice --><!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:13, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi Bluealbion! I noticed that you recently made an edit&#32;at :Modernism ↗ and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. "Minor edit ↗" has a specific definition on Wikipedia: it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections ↗ or reverting obvious vandalism ↗. Any edit that changes the <em>meaning</em> of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-minor --> Patrick 🐈‍⬛ (talk) 16:27, 17 June 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Gurkubondinn. An edit that you recently made to :Mary Baker Eddy ↗ seemed to be generated using a large language model ↗ (an "AI chatbot ↗" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications is usually unsuitable for an encyclopedia ↗, and may contain factually inaccurate statements, fictitious citations, or other problems. You should instead read reliable sources ↗ and then summarize those in your own words. Your edit may have been reverted ↗. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. 25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions&nbsp;to :Template:Infobox national political convention ↗. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments ↗ to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview ↗ button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in yellow at the top of the page. You can also install the userscript ↗ found here to help find and eliminate these errors. Thanks.<!---Template:Uw-dupargs---> '''<span style="color:#00d5ff !important">Zack</span><span style="color:#007F94 !important">mann</span>''' (Talk to me ↗/<span style="color:orange !important">What I been doing</span> ↗) 15:06, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
