Hello, how come the "Car Portal Selected Article" template was removed from the Lincoln Town Car discussion page. Why is the TC article not anymore selected? Are there any impovements I should make to the article or is this just a normal rotation? Please let me know. Anniversaries

I would prefer to leave the empty anniversary articles empty than to just put null content there. If they're empty, it makes it easier to see which ones need content by glancing at Portal:Cars/Anniversaries ↗. --SFoskett 15:06, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Need your help on Nollning ↗

Would you be able to comment on this for me? I am considering proposing it for deletion. I looked through the sv:Nollning article, and despite my very limited knowledge of Swedish I was able to see that it's unsourced and tagged as "fluff", and that all it does is chronicle customs at individual Swedish universities, which are of course individually NN. No treatment is given to Nollning as a social phenomenon, cf. Hazing ↗, so I am wondering whether this article will never have substance and should be prodded. Location Maps

On the WikiProject Countries talk page, you had either explictly declared a general interest in the project, or had participated at a discussion that appears related to Location Maps for European countries ↗.<br/>New maps had been created by David Liuzzo, and are available for the countries of the ''European continent'', and for countries of the ''European Union'' exist in two versions. From November 16 ↗, 2006 ↗ till January 31 ↗, 2007 ↗, a poll had tried to find a consensus for usage of 'old' or of which and where 'new' version maps. At its closing, 25 people had spoken in favor of either of the two presented usages of new versions but neither version had reached a consensus (12 and 13), and 18 had preferred old maps.<br/>As this outcome cannot justify reverting of new maps that had become used for some countries, seconds before February 5 ↗, 2007 ↗ a survey started that will be closed at February 20 ↗, 2007 ↗ 23:59:59. It should establish whether the new style maps may be applied as soon as some might become available for countries outside the European continent (or such to depend on future discussions), and also which new version should be applied for which countries.<br/>Please note that since January 1 ↗, 2007 ↗ all new maps became updated by David Liuzzo (including a world locator, enlarged cut-out for small countries) and as of February 4 ↗, 2007 ↗ the restricted licence that had jeopardized their availability on Wikimedia Commons, became more free. Is nasaspaceflight.com not considered a reliable source? That's not what I'm saying in this case. A FAWG is a preliminary document. These changes will occur (the ones you are making) if they fly STS-125 in May. It is not official that they will yet and won't be until that piece of Hubble hardware on the ground is tested and they say they are good to go. If 125 is not May, 127 will be and no orbiter changes should be made as far as I know.--CapeCanaveral321 (talk) 17:34, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Running the python script

Hi, Thank you for your feedback to my post on Henrik's talkpage.

I wanted to try the python scripts you have provided there, however when I try to run them on my computer I get an error: failed to import wikipedia module. Do I have to download wikipedia and more modules to be able to run those python scripts?

I am playing around with this pywikipedia script you suggested to me. When I run it on a set of articles it returns variables for each article in each of the languages, which is a set of numbers, like: 1093 or 0 if the given article does not exist in the given language.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge ↗ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge ↗ and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge ↗. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic) ↗. For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon ↗ which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! Socket rating

Hi, I see you've added the sentence "However, the actual circuit protection may vary by country; some national wiring codes use lower ratings such as 10 A or 13 A for ordinary outlets." to Mains electricity by country ↗. Could you add a reference for that? I have yet to see conclusive information that it's indeed the case and, if so, it would of course be good to have sources and further details (such as: which countries). :Unfortunately, I don't have a good reference for that yet. I found a Danish site ↗ that give an exampel of dimensioning of the electrical system when building a typical residential house. They draw seven circuits, of which six are 10 A. It's only the stove and oven that gets a 16 A circuit. And for anecdotal evidence, I can say that in all the houses I've lived in in Sweden there have been 10 A circuits for the Schuko sockets. <span style="color:snow;background:#38E">⛐</span>Boivie (talk) 19:49, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
::Lighting-only circuits don't include any sockets and typically have only 10 A; five of the circuits in the Danish example are of that kind. The other two are for three-phase power if I get it right. It's an odd example (I get three-phase for the oven, but why for washing machine, dryer and dishwasher?), but as far as I can tell that example doesn't include any standard 230 V sockets at all.
::As for Sweden, did you see the recent discussion at Talk:Mains electricity by country#16A outlets in Europe ↗, especially my last comment? I've noticed that popular clothes irons sold on Amazon Sweden have 2400–2600 W, so I don't know how to reconcile that with the idea that you can only draw 10 A (2300 W) from a typical Swedish Schuko socket. So there we're back to anecdotal evidence again, when I say sockets and lights always share the same circuits in Sweden. You wouldn't want to connect the sockets in other rooms to the circuits meant for the washing mashine, tumbler or stove/oven. I guess I need to go search for better sources.
