Too many changes

Please consider other editors when you make so many changes in a single edit, as you did at Drowning ↗. Many of them are reasonable changes, some improvements, but others are simply wrong, such as changing <code>lifeguards'</code> to <code>lifeguard's</code> or spacing the {{tl|spaces}} template. Some are preferences, such as using "that" to replace "which" in defining relative clauses, which are merely a US-GB variant. Sorry, but I've reverted your edit because it is simply too difficult to pick out the good from the bad. For something related to another English-speaking country ↗, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the ''original'' author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Google Code-In ↗, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. AD/B v CE/BCE

Although personally I prefer the neutral CE/BCE notation, Wikipedia has a policy, MOS:ERA ↗, that says the era style first used in an article should not be changed without a convincing reason (such as the article is about an Islamic or Judaic topic). This policy is to avoid perennial revert wars. I have most often had to cite MOS:ERA to protect existing CE/BCE notation, so have to be even-handed when the reverse is true. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 19:16, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
