Recent edit to Acrylate ↗
Dear Rekonedth, could you please explain why believe the article was better before hand? I thought the change was an improvement--hence why I did it. With your reversion, there is no mention of the IUPAC name which will become an increasing barrier for younger chemists. Douginamug (talk) 19:18, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
:25px ↗ Hello, and thank you for your recent contribution. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edit because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! Rekonedth (talk) 16:52, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Cumulative and cardinal voting
Ordinal or preference voting means that when you vote you can indicate that you prefer A to B, but you can't say '''how much more''' you prefer A than you prefer B. Cumulative voting allows you to indicate how much more you prefer things to other things, and so in that respect is not merely ordinal, and so presumably cardinal. Please discuss things on Wikipedia (not just some external site) before reverting... AnonMoos (talk) 00:58, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
:Hi AnonMoos I have moved this conversation to the talk page of Cumulative voting ↗, as you perhaps have already seen. I guess I should have checked the talk page for the article first right? I'm quite unexperienced editing wikipedia! Should I delete the comment I made on your talk page? Cheers Douginamug (talk) 08:49, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

When copying material...
...from one Wikipedia article to another, acknowledge the source article(s) in your Edit summary, and perhaps on the talk page of the target article. I did this recently in a big way when creating Fish allergy ↗. David notMD (talk) 17:47, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
:Hi David notMD. Thanks, it was interesting to see your work, and how you did it—congratulations on achieving 'Good Article' status for egg allergy ↗! I didn't strictly copy the text from Liberum veto ↗, but it certainly wasn't fully original either... I did mention it in the consensus decision-making talk page ↗, but only in response to an existing section.
:* Should I add a new Talk page section to make it more obvious where I sourced from?
:* Should I somehow add the source to the Edit summary retrospectively? Or should I just do it next time? If I should do it retrospectively, how?
:Thanks in advance! Douginamug (talk) 20:31, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
:One cannot retrospectively change an Edit summary, but a minor new change could be made to the article, with an Edit summary. Personally, if the copy/paste content is significant, then I recommend a Talk page section. David notMD (talk) 20:38, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
::{{Reply to|David notMD}} I mentioned in ''Liberum veto'' via edit summary and talk page section for ''Consensus decision-making'', and also mentioned it on the source talk page. Perhaps overkill, but I'm happy to learn best practices. Douginamug (talk) 21:06, 3 August 2020 (UTC)

Mietshäuser Syndikat
Hiya nice one for making the Mietshäuser Syndikat ↗ article! I was happy to see that. I had a couple of suggestions for it, I thought I'd contact you here first. It might be worth making it clearer somewhere like the talkpage that the page is translated from german and what version of the DE wiki page was used; you could employ Template:Translated page ↗. Also, the bits that aren't cited should probably be just chopped out, for EN wiki standards it's not great to have the whole concept section not referenced; that's why the more citations template got added. Happy to give a hand with this if you like. If your interests lead you further towards Wikipedia:WikiProject Squatting ↗ feel free to get involved, cheers! Mujinga (talk) 09:11, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
:@Mujinga Thanks for the encouragement! I have added added the 'translated page' template just now. I totally get that no citations in the concept section is inappropriate, and will endeavor to change that as soon as possible. I am curious to get more involved with WikipProjects in general... how does one keep afloat of what's going on? Cheers, <b style="font-family:sans;background-color:paleturquoise;border-radius:7px 0 0 7px;padding:2px 5px;">DougInAMug</b><span style="background-color:pink;border-radius:0 7px 7px 0;padding:2px 5px;">talk</span> 14:37, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
:: Cool, I've moved the uncited section to talk for now since otherwise someone will delete it. There are various wikiprojects, some are active, some are not. I think it's very much up to you how involved to be, but being part of a wikiproject can be fun since it opens up the possibility of collaboration. I very much enjoy being part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red ↗ and Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Women_in_Red ↗ has some interesting discussions. You can also keep up with what's happening by watching pages such as Wikipedia:WikiProject_Squatting/Article_alerts ↗ and Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Red/Article_alerts ↗ (although you don't need to have joined up to do that!). Cheers, Mujinga (talk) 16:22, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
:::@Mujinga hey there, could you have a look at the "General structure" section I just introduced? Thanks, <b style="font-family:sans;background-color:paleturquoise;border-radius:7px 0 0 7px;padding:2px 5px;">DougInAMug</b><span style="background-color:pink;border-radius:0 7px 7px 0;padding:2px 5px;">talk</span> 19:45, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
:::: Great to see the article much improved! I made a few edits and noticed there's some cite errors:
Cite error: A list-defined reference named "hcr2015" is not used in the content (see the help page).
Cite error: A list-defined reference named "tmhc2022" is not used in the content (see the help page).
Cite error: A list-defined reference named "mhsev1997" is not used in the content (see the help page).
Cite error: A list-defined reference named "se2022" is not used in the content (see the help page).
:::: I'll leave those for you to fix as it's best to learn by doing but let me know if you need a hand. That General structure is very informative and seems to be referenced (although I didn't verify it) so I like it; plus I learnt something more about MHS! In the Reception section I feel like we don't need all the researchers names but that's a minor quibble at this point. Cheers! Mujinga (talk) 08:51, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

A Wikidata item for you!
Yo! I have created {{Q|Q114245155}}, a Wikidata item for your recent article. :) Whenever you create a new Wikipedia article, you can create the corresponding Wikidata item and add most of what you have in the infobox there as well. Some infoboxes will even pull the data from Wikidata directly, avoiding the duplication. It's a lot of fun! − Pintoch (talk) 12:49, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
Proposed deletion ↗ of :Centre for Enabling EA Learning & Research ↗
left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗
The article :Centre for Enabling EA Learning & Research ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''Can't find enough in-depth coverage to show that this group passes GNG or ORGDEPTH.'''</blockquote>
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> '''<span style="color:#536895;">Onel</span><span style="color:#ffb300;">5969</span>''' <i style="color:blue">TT me</i> 12:43, 18 October 2022 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Glasgow Autonomous Space ↗
Hello, Douginamug, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Fiachra10003, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Glasgow Autonomous Space ↗, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Glasgow Autonomous Space ↗.
You might like to note that such discussions ↗ usually run for seven days and are ''not'' votes. And, our guide ↗ about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with <code><nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>Fiachra10003<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>. And, don't forget to sign your reply with <code><nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></code> . Thanks!

Do-ocracy ↗
Hi {{U|Douginamug}} ;)
Today I discovered that Do-ocracy ↗ is currently a redirect, because the page has been deleted 10 years ago ↗ due to a lack of sources… isn't that incredible? There are quite some scholarly articles analyzing FOSS and hackerspace communities by now, for instance those cited here ↗. Would you be up for collaborating on a draft of a revival? There are articles in FR and DE wikis as well… − Pintoch (talk) 11:41, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
:@Pintoch thanks for bringing this to my attention. This is unacceptable! I shall add this to my list 🫡 <b style="font-family:sans;background-color:paleturquoise;border-radius:7px 0 0 7px;padding:1px 3px;">DougInAMug</b><span style="background-color:pink;border-radius:0 7px 7px 0;padding:1px 3px;">talk</span> 21:57, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Hi, this is an automated reminder as part of Global reminder bot ↗ to let you know that your WP:IPBE ↗ right which gave you the ability to bypass IP address blocks will expire on 00:45, 24 January 2026 (UTC). If your IP is still blocked, please renew by following the instructions at the IPBE page; otherwise, you do not need to do anything. <small>{{grey|To opt out of user right expiry notifications, add yourself to m:Global reminder bot/Exclusion ↗.}}</small> Leaderbot (talk) 19:41, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
