25px|alt=Information icon|link= ↗ Hello. I have noticed that you {{usertalk other|often ↗|often}} edit without using an edit summary ↗. Please do your best to '''always fill in the summary field'''. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. 25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Welcome to Wikipedia ↗. We appreciate your contributions ↗, but in one of your recent edits to :Wankou Chong ↗, it appears that you have added original research ↗, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say ↗. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source ↗ for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources ↗. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-nor1 --> Qiushufang (talk) 00:46, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
Original research
I've noticed that large portions of your recent contributions, of which the Chinese firearm articles are most prominent, do not seem to be fully supported by the cited sources if at all. An example would be at Wankou Chong ↗, where you seem to assume any early cannon was a Wankou Chong. For example, you list the 1377 large cannons as Wankou Chong or imply they were since they are mentioned in the same sentence. There is nothing in the source which implies they are and a search of 1377 Ming cannons turns up nothing that resembles a Wankou Chong. I also know for a fact that they are not since I've done research and editing on topics relevant to the subject. The entire article you've written talks about Wankou Chong in the same breath as other cannons, which are even directly mentioned to exist in the Andrade source apart from the bowl-mouth cannons. Other parts like the first mention of "large" cannon use in the Ming dynasty and their size are not supported by the source, merely the use of cannons against gates and walls. There's no evidence that the models used in the periods mentioned like the late Ming were Wankou Chong or even that the small ones in the early were all Wankou Chong. Othe parts in the characteristics section that make note of the barrel size and their characteristics don't seem to be supported by the Andrade source either, at least explicitly, but rather extrapolations from a table. This is all WP:OR ↗ - it is against Wiki policy to put information that is not explicitly stated in a single source in Wiki articles. In fact this article doesn't need to exist at all. Bowl-mouth cannons are not noteworthy enough to have an article all to itself outside of Huochong ↗, and even that article already overlaps with other articles. There seems to be a lot of editorializing in your contributions that are not explicitly supported by the sources. So hopefully this helps and you can become more circumspect in your additions in the future. Qiushufang (talk) 02:02, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
The World Destubathon ↗
Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon ↗. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible!♦ <span style="font-variant:small-caps;color:#aba67e">''Dr. Blofeld''</span> 17:54, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
