Thank you for your edits. But you should fill the edit summary and follow the date format set for the page. Hope you'll follow these rules in your future edits. In addition, when you change something in a page, you must change it in all related parts. So some of your edits will be modified. Egeymi (talk) 03:55, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to '''the Arab–Israeli conflict ↗''', a topic designated as '''contentious ↗'''. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as ''contentious topics''. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics ''procedures'' you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard ↗ or you may learn more about this contentious topic here ↗. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{tl|Ctopics/aware}} template.
}}

Since you do not have the extendedconfirmed ↗ permission (granted automatically at 500 edits and 30 days' tenure), you may not edit pages such as International reactions to the 2023 Israel–Hamas war ↗. Relations between Nazi Germany and the Arab world- could you rewrite your additions?

You recent edit ↗ on Relations between Nazi Germany and the Arab world ↗ has sentences that are much too similar to the source material ↗. You can see the comparison here ↗. Could you read the guidelines I've linked you, then rewrite your additions? Otherwise I (or somebody else) will have to remove them. Thanks, and happy editing! 1957 Egyptian parliamentary election

While it was effectively a dictatorship, it does seem a bit strong to say that {{tq|1,318 [candidates] were approved for being "undesirable" or "unworthy"}}. I wasn't sure whether you got the numbers or the text the wrong way round (were 1,210 rejected for this reason, or 1,210 approved and 1,318 rejected)? Cheers, Number 57 ↗ 02:03, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

:omg my mistake.
:From Peretz (1959) ''Democracy and the Revolution in Egypt'' page 33
:''Some 2,528 candidates filed papers for the 350 seats in the Assembly, but nearly half the names were eliminated by the officer-controlled National Union. It screened all who submitted applications for candidacy, eliminating those who had been convicted by the revolutionary tribunals and anti-corruption courts, those liable to "administrative custody," those convicted as criminals, and those dismissed from public office for "lack of integrity."''
:''The names of 1,210 were rejected and 1,318 approved. In five constituencies, every candidate was eliminated. All cabinet members were relieved of their opposition, as were some former army and police officers. In all, sixty-two candidates had no opposition. Of the sixteen women who filed papers for candidacy, the National Union permitted only five to run, of whom two were elected, thus becoming the first Arab women to be elected to any Middle Eastern parliament.''
:''Despite the rigid process of eliminating "undesirable" and "unworthy" applicants, the National Union did permit a variety of candidates, wide enough for some fierce campaigning. On support of Nasir, the revolution, and the constitution, there was no difference of opinion. Neither was foreign policy a campaign issue. Division of opinion occurred over "too much" or "too little" socialism, personalities, and the accomplishments, or lack of them, of the candidates. Streets were filled with campaign posters, electioneering candidates addressed large crowds, bands and carnivals were sponsored for favorite sons, and there was distribution of largesse by some of the wealthy candidates.''
:What I meant to say was the rejected one were disapproved for being "undesirable" or "unworthy".
:Good catch! Drsmartypants(Smarty M.D) (talk) 02:32, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

:From the Commons page https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1948_Arab-Israeli_War_997008137024705171.jpg
:The description identifies it with Ramla. So does the National Library Israel https://www.nli.org.il/he/images/NNL_ARCHIVE_AL997008137024705171//NLI . I believe this photo ↗ is the Sarafand camp.
