Question from Jay John Mulama (11:39, 15 October 2025)
Hello can I edit anything and what are the guides --Jay John Mulama (talk) 11:39, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
:Hi {{u|Jay John Mulama}}, thanks for reaching out. Help:Introduction ↗ has a good overview and welcome to Wikipedia. As for what you can edit, most articles are unprotected but some contentious topics may have certain restrictions. Please let me know if you have any more questions! Fritzmann (message me) 12:55, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Arimslu (18:44, 15 October 2025)
Hey! This is Arimslu! I'm new here, and my main goal as of right now is to update wiki pages for shows to include all their opening and ending themes, as I myself have had issues finding them, and would like to make it easier for others in the future. Right now, however, I'm having another issue. I want to add an external link to the wiki page for "Yamishibai: Japanese Horror Stories", but every time I try, it only adds as a "potential template". Do you know how to fix this? I copied the code exactly from the previous external link, only changing the title, link, and name. --Arimslu (talk) 18:44, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
:Hi {{u|Arimslu}}, it looks like it's displaying correctly and you figured it out! If you want to make generic external links, you can use single brackets "[ ]" around a link. To change how it displays, add a space after the link and then the text to show: like this ↗. Let me know if you have any other questions! Fritzmann (message me) 12:59, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Syzygies33 (01:17, 17 October 2025)
Hi, I'm new to this and I may need some help/real feedback. I have submitted a first page (about a deceased Romanian mathematician) with what I thought being reliable references to support the text of the submitted page. It is true that some references are in Romanian (there is also a Romanian wikipedia page for the same mathematician, but being new here I'm not allowed to provide a Wikipedia translation for it). I do not have a lot of experience in building wikipedia pages, so any constructive help, including improving the article, would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance! --Syzygies33 (talk) 01:17, 17 October 2025 (UTC)

Question from Drdanikatynes (17:00, 21 October 2025)
My recent article was declined but I appreciated the feedback since it was my first. How do I revise my submission or do I start again? --Drdanikatynes (talk) 17:00, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
:Hi {{u|Drdanikatynes}}, sorry for my delay in replying. You can continue to edit the article at Draft:ISO Metrik Device ↗! Once it is ready, you just hit the blue "resubmit" button in the Submission Declined box. Let me know if you need any help with the revisions! Fritzmann (message me) 00:23, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Drdanikatynes on User:Drdanikatynes/sandbox (17:10, 21 October 2025)
Sorry, me again, I tried to publish with suggested edits and I received a "Warning: This page should probably be moved to the Draft namespace." I tried to move to the draft space but didn't have permissions. Can you advise on how to go the correct route? --Drdanikatynes (talk) 17:10, 21 October 2025 (UTC)

Catching up on Draft:Thanasis Deligiannis ↗
Hi @Fritzmann2002, I have been working a lot on Draft:Thanasis Deligiannis ↗, rewriting it and incorporating all sources I had gathered through the past months. Would you have time to have a look at it? Any feedback would be helpful before submitting it. Kamien Case (talk) 23:15, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
:{{u|Kamien Case}} I can take another look at it this week if you'd like. I just wanted to ask before I start, is it autobiographical? I noticed some people thought so on the talk page, and that would mean it should receive much more scrutiny and is unlikely to be published. Either way I'll still give it a look. Fritzmann (message me) 00:26, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
::Hi @Fritzmann2002, thanks for following up. I’ll disclose a COI as the subject of the article. The current draft is based on independent sources, written to comply with WP:NPOV and WP:V, as much as possible for a beginner editor. I have received feedback from various editors here, the main issue was notability and I was strongly advised to add review quotes/sources. I have kept institutional sources for fact checking. However, this has enlarged the article and I am not sure it was the right way after all. I would like to step aside and invite independent editors to work on it and re-write what needs to be re-written or re-sourced, and potentially submitting it. Any advice on how to proceed would be of help, as this has been a year-long process of getting to know how to write an article. Kamien Case (talk) 13:41, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from AfiqDenis (06:31, 25 October 2025)
Hello,
I want to ask about when, how and why to edit an article. And what if my edit wrong, did I can get punish for it or what happens.Thanks for your time and your guidance. --AfiqDenis (talk) 06:31, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
:Hi {{u|AfiqDenis}} and thanks for your question! I recommend you start with the Introduction to Wikipedia ↗, but in short: you can edit when you feel you can make an improvement to an article by clicking the "edit" button on the top of each page. Why you do so is up to you, but we assume all editors work in good faith ↗. I edit because I find it enjoyable and it keeps my reading, writing, and researching skills sharp. If you do not follow guidelines but are editing in good faith, just expect someone to let you know and fix your mistake. It takes a long time to learn and most people are understanding, it a bit brusque. If you repeatedly disregard the rules or are being disruptive, you may be temporarily or permanently banned. Let me know if you need further help! Fritzmann (message me) 00:29, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Sergggs16 (03:03, 26 October 2025)
Hey, I have a PDF file that I want to use as a source for a wiki article, but I’m not sure how to turn it into a proper citation. --Sergggs16 (talk) 03:03, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
:Hi {{u|Sergggs16}}, what kind of reference is it? If it is a book or journal article, you can simply cite it as such without creating a link. I can give you a more detailed explanation if I know what kind of material it is. Fritzmann (message me) 00:31, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
::Also, if you'd like more detailed guidance or assistance with your edits on Prestonsburg, Kentucky, bus crash ↗ just let me know. It's hard to get started with all the rules and guidelines you may not be aware of. Fritzmann (message me) 00:34, 27 October 2025 (UTC)

Hello! I'm trying to upload the logo of Playboy Club (the company I am working for) and I cannot. Could you assist me please?
It seems that my account is not auto-verified yet and I cannot do it. --PMCenterfold (talk) 08:08, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
Question from Clvnbrtt9999 (13:59, 29 October 2025)
Hey, I’m a professional footballer and I’m trying to create my own Wikipedia page. Is that a bad idea?
What do you recommend? --Clvnbrtt9999 (talk) 13:59, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
:Hi {{u|Clvnbrtt9999}}, thanks for reaching out! Wikipedia generally discourages autobiographies ↗. Articles need to be neutral and not push a point of view, which is almost impossible to do if you are writing about yourself. If you really desire an article about yourself (there are a lot of cons - you don't get to control what gets written), my recommendation would be to find reliable sources ↗ about you, and leave a polite message at the football WikiProject ↗. Someone may pick up the article from there, but keep in mind that everyone here is a volunteer, so it might not happen. Let me know if you have any more questions! Fritzmann (message me) 15:49, 1 November 2025 (UTC)

Hello it’s my first time to publish a Wikipedia page. I made a traduction in English of a Georgian page explaining Tamishi Battle, it is good ? --B.Gujejiani (talk) 15:38, 1 November 2025 (UTC)

Administrator Elections - Call for Candidates
<div style="border: 5px solid #ABCDEF; padding:0.5em 1em">
<div style="display:flex; align-items:center;">
<div>
The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at '''Wikipedia:Administrator elections/December 2025/Candidates ↗'''.
Here is the schedule:
- November 25 – December 1 - Call for candidates
- December 4–8 - Discussion phase
- December 9–15 - SecurePoll voting phase
Please note the following:
- The requirements to run are identical to RFA ↗—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed ↗.
- Prospective candidates are advised to become familiar with the community's expectations of administrators, which are much higher than the minimum requirement of having extended confirmed status. This includes reviewing successful ↗ and unsuccessful ↗ RFAs, reading the essay Wikipedia:Advice for admin elections candidates ↗, and possibly requesting an optional poll on their chances of passing ↗.
- The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
- The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is '''no official difference''' between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
- Administrator elections are also a valid means of regaining adminship for de-sysopped editors ↗.
Ask any questions about the process at the talk page ↗. Later, a user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.
If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.

Administrator Elections - Discussion Phase
<div style="border: 5px solid #ABCDEF ; padding:10px 15px">
<div style="display:flex; align-items:center;">
<div>
The discussion phase of the December 2025 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:
- Dec 4–8 - Discussion phase ('''we are here''')
- Dec 9–15 - SecurePoll voting phase
- Scrutineering phase
We are currently in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages are open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship ↗. You may discuss the candidates at '''Wikipedia:Administrator elections/December 2025/Discussion phase''' ↗.
On December 9, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll ↗ software to vote, which uses a secret ballot ↗. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's totals during the election. You must be extended confirmed ↗ to vote.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which typically lasts between a couple days and a week. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page ↗ (you may want to watchlist this page) and transcluded to the main election page ↗. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate who has not been recalled ↗ must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and must also have received a minimum of 20 support votes. A candidate that has been recalled must have at least 55.0% support ↗. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ↗ ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page ↗. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Welcome to the 2026 WikiCup!
Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2026 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor, we hope the WikiCup will give you a chance to improve your editing skills as you go. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found '''here ↗'''. If you have not yet signed up, you can '''add your name here ↗''', and a bot will set up your submissions page within one day, ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page ↗.
For the 2026 WikiCup, the highest-ranking contestants will receive tournament points ↗ at the end of each round, and final rankings are decided by the number of tournament points each contestant has. This is the same scoring system that we had last year. If you're busy and can't sign up in January, don't worry: Signups are open throughout the year. To make things fairer for latecomers, the lowest-scoring contestants are no longer eliminated at the end of each round.
The first round will end on 26 February. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: {{User4|Cwmhiraeth}}, {{User4|Epicgenius}}, {{User4|Frostly}}, {{User4|Guerillero}} and {{User4|Lee Vilenski}}. Good luck! <small>If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send ↗.</small> MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 1 January 2026 (UTC)

WikiCup 2026 March newsletter
The first round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As some of you may have noticed, good article nomination reviews ↗ now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP ↗. This point increase has been retroactively applied to all good article reviews for which competitors have claimed points in this round. Peer reviews ↗, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews ↗, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 1 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 300 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Bgsu98}} with 1,467 round points, largely gained from 1 featured article ↗, 5 featured lists ↗, 15 good articles ↗, and 42 FAC and GAN reviews;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Olliefant}} with 1,246 round points, largely from 4 featured lists, 9 good articles, 2 featured topic ↗ articles, 4 did you know ↗ articles, and 75 FAC and GAN reviews;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Generalissima}} with 1,095 round points, largely from 3 featured articles, 6 good articles, and 5 did you know articles;
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|MCE89}} with 848 round points, largely from 1 featured article, 8 good articles, 1 did you know article, and 32 FAC and GAN reviews; and
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Rollinginhisgrave}} with 838 round points, largely from 1 featured article, 8 good articles, 1 did you know article, and 14 FAC, GAN, and peer reviews.
The full scores for round 1 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 7 featured articles, 16 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 168 good articles, 13 good-topic articles and more than 50 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 14 In the News ↗ articles, and they have conducted nearly 700 reviews. The tournament points table ↗ will be updated within the next few days.
Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed ↗. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup ↗, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. May 2026 Administrator Election – Call for Candidates
<div style="border: 5px solid #ABCDEF; padding: 0.5em 1em 0 1em;" role="article">
right|80px ↗
The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at '''Wikipedia:Administrator elections/May 2026/Candidates ↗'''.
Here is the schedule:
- April 29 – May 5: Call for candidates
- May 8–12: Discussion phase
- May 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase

WikiCup 2026 May newsletter
The second round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 April. As a reminder for contestants who just joined or are unaware of recent changes to our round-points system, good article nomination reviews ↗ now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP ↗. Peer reviews ↗, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews ↗, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 2 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; nine scored over 500; and fourteen scored over 300. The top seven contestants had at least one featured article ↗ (two of them with two apiece). The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|MCE89}} with 1,333 points, mainly from good and featured articles about Australian people and geography
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Generalissima}} with 1,169 points, mainly from good and featured articles related to shipping ethics controversy in fanfiction ↗, waterways, and Gu Yanwu ↗
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Bgsu98}} with 1,149 points, mainly from good articles, featured articles, and featured lists about figure skating, along with many article reviews and two good topics
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Olliefant}} with 830 points, mainly from good and featured articles about television shows, episodes and media, along with nearly four dozen good and featured article reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Gommeh}} with 827 points, mainly from good and featured articles related to ''Genshin Impact ↗'' and ''Honkai: Star Rail''
The full scores for round 2 can be seen here ↗. Hi Fritzmann2002! I just submitted my first new page in a little while- I think I did this through a different mechanism previously, during my Wikipedia class (Science Wikieditors). Before, my page went live right away- and now, mine is in a queue for review. Did I skip this step previously because I was in a course, and now I'm just working at this on my own? Or, did I go about creating this page (through the new page wizard) the wrong way? the new page is for the gene DHX30. Thanks :) --Purpleptaters (talk) 21:25, 7 May 2026 (UTC)

May 2026 Administrator Elections – Voting Phase
<div style="border: 5px solid #ABCDEF; padding: 0.5em 1em 0 1em;" role="article">
right|80px ↗
The voting phase of the May 2026 administrator elections has started and will continue until {{Administrator elections status/data|May 2026|end}} at {{Administrator election time|end}} UTC. You can participate in the voting phase at '''Wikipedia:Administrator elections/May 2026/Voting phase ↗'''.
As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:
- {{Administrator elections/Header/daterange|May 2026|begin|end}}: SecurePoll voting phase ('''we are here''')
- Scrutineering phase
In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote ↗ has a week to use the SecurePoll ↗ software to vote, which uses a secret ballot ↗. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements ↗ are similar to those at RFA.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page ↗ (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page ↗. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall ↗ candidates must achieve 55.0% support ↗. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ↗ ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page ↗. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

WikiCup 2026 July newsletter
The third round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 June at 23:59 (UTC). As a reminder, good article nomination reviews ↗ now receive 10 points, while peer reviews ↗, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews ↗, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 3 will advance to round 4 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 3 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; eight scored over 500; and thirteen scored over 300. The top three contestants had at least one featured article ↗ (two of them with two apiece). The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|MCE89}} with 1567 points, mainly from good and featured articles about Australian people and geography, as well as some article reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Bgsu98}} with 1547 points, mainly from good articles, featured articles, featured lists, and a good topic about figure skating, along with 20 article reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Reconrabbit}} with 1004 points, mainly from a high-multiplier featured article on European rabbit ↗ and several good articles, DYKs, and reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|A.Cython}} with 1004 points, mainly from good articles about warfare, along with 22 article reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Generalissima}} with 859 points, mainly from good and featured articles about rivers and East Asian topics
The full scores for round 3 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 12 featured articles, 12 featured lists, 7 featured-topic articles, 117 good articles, 74 good-topic articles and more than 30 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 13 In the News ↗ articles, and they have conducted nearly 180 reviews. The tournament points table ↗ has been updated.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 June but before the start of Round 4 can be claimed in Round 4. Good luck! <small>If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send ↗.</small> MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:49, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

Hey Fritzmann2002, the third annual Developing Countries WikiContest ↗ is now '''open for submissions'''. The coordinators have addressed some of the queries at the last contest and we are hopeful that it'll turn out great! If you haven't done so already, please review the following:
