; Member in Focus
- Hi, I have been a member of this project for a few months now, and after finally gotten to grips with Wikipedia I have decided to take on the role of writing this newsletter (currently by myself, but any help would be appreciated) with some helpful tips from The Ed17. After undertaking this I realise why it was so difficult to keep it going. I will, however, persevere. From the members, I would encourage you to vote in the '''Coordinator elections''', and take up roles at the Job Centre. The project has struggled recently, and I am hoping to try and revive it. If, with the publication of this newsletter, there are a couple of things that aren't quite up-to-date (like the Collaboration part), you can be certain I am working on it. I will be trying to get a newsletter out on around the 21st of every month. Finally, thanks for the help Ed. Regards, Alan16 (talk) 23:41, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

This is my first attempt at the newsletter, and I hope it at least gets close to the previous high standards set by Kevinalewis and The Ed17. I will once again encourage you to vote in the Coordinator elections ↗, as I hope it could be the springboard to revitalise the project. I'll keep working on the newsletter, partially because I like the stress, and partially because we need it to get members and would-be members interested. Hopefully the start of great things. Regards, Alan.

Philadelphia Phillies Opening Day starters
Regarding your edits to the navbox template ↗ related to List of Philadelphia Phillies Opening Day starting pitchers ↗, I have reverted them. With a list that is so long (considering the Phillies' 126-year history), there is no reason to link to all of the team seasons and to overlink players with multiple Opening Day starts. The navbox is not the list; it should not try to accomplish the same goal as the list. Navboxes are for navigating between linked topics; lists are for bringing together comprehensive groups of information. Since every article linked in a navbox should have that navbox on it, in the case of your design, we would have to put the Opening Day starters' template on every single team season article, which – I think you'll agree – is a completely inappropriate use of that particular template. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks. <span style="color:black">'''KV5'''</span> <small>(<span style="color:#00338d">Talk</span> ↗ • <span style="color:#B71234">Phils</span> ↗)</small> 11:53, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
Wolf Hall ↗
Hi, looks like you and I created a new article at the same time. I felt Wolf Hall ↗, as a Man Booker winner, deserves to have the primary name of Wolf Hall ↗, since it was just a redirect before, and not a very important one. Would you be amiable to redirecting Wolf Hall (novel) ↗ -> Wolf Hall ↗? Green Cardamom (talk) 01:47, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

We have a new Governor and other state officers, two new U.S. Representatives, many new state legislators, and a new Mayor of Denver. '''WikiProject Colorado''' ↗ is updating many Colorado articles. Many Colorado places, people, and organizations need new articles. Portal:Colorado ↗ needs new featured articles.
Can you help us? Please see our list of some '''requested articles''' ↗. If you wish, you may join WikiProject Colorado at Wikipedia:WikiProject Colorado/Members ↗. If you have any questions, please leave me a message at User talk:Buaidh or e-mail me at Special:EmailUser/Buaidh ↗. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Proposed deletion ↗ of Blackthorn Winter ↗
left|link=|48px| ↗
The article Blackthorn Winter ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because of the following concern:
:'''Does not meet WP:NBOOK ↗. Google search revealed no sources.'''
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> Howicus (Did I mess up?) 20:21, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for partipating Wikipedia Asian Month last year, and I hope you enjoy it. Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. We will organize this event again in upcoming November, and would like to invite you join us again.
This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. We are also improving our postcard sending process, e.g. making the postcards right now, and collecting the address after the event ends without waiting other languges.
Wikipedians who create the most articles on each Wikipedia will be honored as "Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors". We will send you both digital copy, and a paper copy of the Ambassador certificate.

deletion about Bill Lauch
Why did you delete most references to him? If you don't mind me asking. Most articles of celebrities tend to mention partners. Chefs-kiss (talk) 11:19, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- I didn't "delete most references". Here are my changes ↗. I removed the reference from the lede, as the fact that Ashman had a partner is not one of the most important facts about him (WP:MOSLEAD ↗). Lauch accepting Ashman's award was duplicated in the article and doesn't need to be mentioned twice; I removed one of the two citations. The current version of the article retains their partnership, Lauch's profession (which I would still argue is unnecessary detail), and two public encounters. Every citation is still included. Mentioning details like the fact that Lauch is from Cincinnati is irrelevant to Ashman (the topic of the article) and adds unnecessary noise (see WP:WEIGHT ↗). --Irregulargalaxies (talk) 15:47, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
:::{{ping|Chefs-kiss}} I don't think this bit of information really adds anything to this article, but I'm not going to make an effort to specifically remove it if you want to add it back. I'd say mentioning any attribute of people who are not the subject of the article should mostly be considered about whether it adds any meaningful context ("meaningful" can of course always be debated). As a counterexample - if Lauch were a butcher, or a teacher, or a jazz singer from Kazakhstan - would anyone reading the article about Ashman interpret him or his relationship with Lauch any differently? Those are mostly personal opinions, though - I think most actual policy would be covered under WP:RELEVANCE ↗. Irregulargalaxies (talk) 03:28, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
