- Following an RFC ↗, Wikipedia:Notability (species) ↗ was adopted as a subject-specific notability guideline ↗.
- A request for comment ↗ is open to discuss whether admins should be advised to warn users rather than issue no-warning blocks to those who have posted promotional content outside of article space.
- The Nuke feature also now provides links ↗ to the userpage of the user whose pages were deleted, and to the pages which were not selected for deletion, after page deletions are queued. This enables easier follow-up admin-actions.
20px|alt= ↗ '''Arbitration'''

- Following an RfC ↗, administrator elections ↗ were permanently authorized on a five-month schedule. The next election will be scheduled soon; see Wikipedia talk:Administrator elections ↗ for more information. This is an alternate process to the RfA process ↗ and does not replace the latter.
- An RfC ↗ was closed with consensus to allow editors to opt-out of seeing "sticky decorative elements". Such elements should now be wrapped in {{t|sticky decoration wrapper}}. Editors who wish to opt out can follow the instructions at WP:STICKYDECO ↗.
- An RfC ↗ has resulted in a broad prohibition ↗ on the use of AI-generated images in articles. A few common-sense exceptions are recognized.

The World Destubathon ↗
Hello. You are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It's currently planned for June 16-July 13. There is currently $3338 going into it, with $500 the top prize. As 250 countries and entities is too much to patrol, entries will be by user, but there is $500 going into prizes for editors covering the most countries. Sign up if interested! ♦ <span style="font-variant:small-caps;color:#aba67e">''Dr. Blofeld''</span> 17:26, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

Research and Academic Education in Sustainable Finance
Hello @Sadads,
I noticed that you deleted my recent edits on 23 July to the article Sustainable Finance, where I had added a section titled "Research and Academic Education in Sustainable Finance." My goal was to contribute substantively to the article by outlining how sustainable finance is increasingly taught at universities and researched globally. I believe the addition makes a positive contribution to the article.
If the rollback was due to concerns about tone, sourcing, or neutrality, I would greatly appreciate your feedback. I’m more than willing to revise the section to better align with Wikipedia’s standards.
Would you be open to discussing whether my original contribution could be included?
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
@Fgvwiki07 Fgvwiki07 (talk) 18:20, 25 July 2025 (UTC)

- Following a request for comment ↗, a new speedy deletion criterion, G15 ↗, has been enacted. It applies to pages generated by a large language model ↗ (LLM) without human review.
- Following a request for comment ↗, there is a new policy ↗ outlining the granting of permissions to view the IP addresses of temporary accounts ↗. Temporary account deployment on the English Wikipedia is currently scheduled for September 2025, and editors can request access to the permission ↗ ahead of time. Admins are encouraged to keep an eye on the request page; there will likely be a flood of editors requesting the permission when they realize they can no longer see IP addresses.
20px|alt= ↗ '''Technical news'''
- Administrators can now restrict the "Add a Link" feature to newcomers. The "Add a Link" ↗ Structured Task helps new account holders get started with editing ↗. Administrators can configure this setting in the Community Configuration ↗ page.
20px|alt= ↗ '''Arbitration'''
- The arbitration case ''Indian military history ↗'' has been closed.
- * South Asia (WP:CT/SA ↗) is designated a contentious topic ↗. - * The contentious topic designations for Sri Lanka ↗ (SL) and India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan ↗ (IPA) are folded into this new contentious topic.
- * The community-authorized general sanctions regarding South Asian social groups ↗ (GS/CASTE) are rescinded and folded into this new contentious topic.
- The arbitration case ''Article titles and capitalisation 2 ↗'' has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case closed on 31 July.
- The arbitration case ''Transgender healthcare and people ↗'' has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case will close on 11 August.

Guide to temporary accounts
Hello, Sadads. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.
'''Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed.''' Instead, they will have a '''temporary account ↗''' (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with the temporary account IP viewer ↗ (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.
'''How do temporary accounts work?'''

- When a logged-out user completes an edit or a logged action for the first time, a cookie will be set in this user's browser and a temporary account tied with this cookie will be automatically created for them. This account's name will follow the pattern: <code>~2025-12345-67</code> (a tilde, year of creation, a number split into units of 5).
- All subsequent actions by the temporary account user will be attributed to this username. The cookie will expire 90 days after its creation. As long as it exists, all edits made from this device will be attributed to this temporary account. It will be the same account even if the IP address changes, unless the user clears their cookies or uses a different device or web browser.
- A record of the IP address used at the time of each edit will be stored for 90 days after the edit. Users with the temporary account IP viewer ↗ (TAIV) user right will be able to see the underlying IP addresses.
- As a measure against vandalism, there are two limitations on the creation of temporary accounts:
- * There has to be a minimum of 10 minutes between subsequent temporary account creations from the same IP (or /64 range in case of IPv6).
- * There can be a maximum of 6 temporary accounts created from an IP (or /64 range) within a period of 24 hours.
'''Temporary account IP viewer user right'''
thumb|350px|How to enable IP Reveal ↗
- Administrators may grant the '''temporary account IP viewer ↗''' (TAIV) user right to non-administrators who meet the criteria for granting ↗. Importantly, an editor must make an explicit request for the permission (e.g. at WP:PERM/TAIV ↗)—administrators are <strong>not</strong> permitted to assign the right without a request.
- Administrators will <em>automatically</em> be able to see temporary account IP information once they have accepted the Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy ↗ via Special:Preferences ↗ or via the onboarding dialog which comes up after temporary accounts are deployed.
'''Impact for administrators'''
- It will be possible to block many abusers by just blocking their temporary accounts. A blocked person won't be able to create new temporary accounts quickly if the admin selects the autoblock ↗ option.
- It will still be possible to block an IP address or IP range.
- Temporary accounts will not be retroactively applied to contributions made before the deployment. On Special:Contributions ↗, you will be able to see existing IP user contributions, but not new contributions made by temporary accounts on that IP address. Instead, you should use Special:IPContributions ↗ for this (see a video about IPContributions in a gallery below).
'''Rules about IP information disclosure'''
- Publicizing an IP address gained through TAIV access is generally ↗ not allowed (e.g. {{!tq|~2025-12345-67 previously edited as 192.0.2.1}} or {{!tq|~2025-12345-67's IP address is 192.0.2.1}}).
- Publicly linking a TA to another TA is allowed if "reasonably believed to be necessary". (e.g. {{tq|~2025-12345-67 and ~2025-12345-68 are likely the same person, so I am counting their reverts together toward 3RR ↗}}, but not {{!tq|Hey ~2025-12345-68, you did some good editing as ~2025-12345-67}})
- See {{section link|Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer|What can and can't be said}} for more detailed guidelines.
'''Useful tools for patrollers'''
- It is possible to view if a user has opted-in to view temporary account IPs via the User Info card ↗, available in {{Preferences|Appearance|Advanced options|check={{int:checkuser-userinfocard-enable-preference-description}}}}
- * This feature also makes it possible for anyone to see the approximate count of temporary accounts active on the same IP address range.
- Special:IPContributions ↗ allows viewing all edits and temporary accounts connected to a specific IP address or IP range.
- Similarly, Special:GlobalContributions ↗ supports global search for a given temporary account's activity.
- The auto-reveal feature (see video below) allows users with the right permissions to automatically reveal all IP addresses for a limited time window.

Pennywise ↗ PR
Hey there, I saw your name under the list of people willing to do peer reviews and thought I'd see if you were interested in doing a peer review for Pennywise ↗. I'm thinking of getting that article to FA status in the near future and would appreciate any help. If you're interested, you can find the link to the peer review at Wikipedia:Peer review/Pennywise/archive1 ↗. Editathon module
Hi, I saw you in the edit history for this ↗ in both your staff and volunteer account. Any chance you know how to update the module page? The embedded YouTube video doesn't work because it says the channel associated with it has been deleted. Since the video linked on the actual slide is the same one, just hosted on Commons instead, it's presumably just a matter of replacing it. Do you know how to do that or who I should contact to fix it? <span style="color:mediumpurple">Clovermoss</span><span style="color:green">🍀</span> (talk) 02:54, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
:Hey @Clovermoss That would be a question about the video hosting is probably for @Ragesoss -- I haven't looked at that in more than ~3-4 years and just left my roll at WMF, Sadads (talk) 12:14, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
:@Clovermoss: I wasn't sure until I tried it, but replacing the youtube embed URL with a webm url from Commons ↗ just works. (To get that change onto the Dashboard, the updated version of slide page on meta must first be marked for translation, and then the 'reload from source' button at the bottom of the TOC on the module's index page ↗ will work to pull in the updated version.) ragesoss (talk) 17:44, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
::I heard from someone else that marking it for translation works so I spent an hour trying how to figure out how to do that last night and failed. Is there something obvious I'm missing? How exactly are you supposed to mark something for translation? <span style="color:mediumpurple">Clovermoss</span><span style="color:green">🍀</span> (talk) 17:51, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
:::It requires translation admin rights to mark a page for translation. The closest thing to documentation is https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Meta:Translation_requests but yeah, it's confusing. ragesoss (talk) 18:45, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Page reviewed
Hello, @Sadads. I was notified that the Meteorological Service of Jamaica ↗ page was reviewed and you thanked me for my edit on such page.
If you were the one who reviewed it, was my page approved/was the review ok? Light (talk) 20:34, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
:Hey @LightandSalvation -- yes: on English Wikipedia Wikipedia:New pages patrol ↗ is used to review content to make sure it meets a minimal level of quality. This is an obvious article for inclusion, that easily meets the Wikipedia:Notability ↗ requirement because it is a government agency -- and you include 3 sources that signaled reliable sources. I didn't do a deep dive on the content itself, but on first read: seems fine! Are you planning on expanding it? Do you have all you need to keep contributing?
:I took a quick look at your edit history: keep up the good work! Sadads (talk) 20:42, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
::Edit history for the page or my contributions ↗?
::And yes, I was considering expanding the page but with what :/ Light (talk) 20:51, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
:::Yes your contributions!
:::Well, it depends a lot on the sources -- but the history section is kindof thin right now -- lots to add about the last 50 years -- if you can find a few high quality sources, I imagine you might find some inspiration from other similar articles listed at National meteorological service ↗ -- try for example reading sources on Google Scholar ↗. I would also think about outlining their actual work and services more (what kinds of programs they are running, contributing to things like the National Climate Assessment, etc). Sadads (talk) 20:58, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
::::I am honoured to be told {{tq|"keep up the good work!"}} by an administrator ↗ and a person who worked at Wikimedia for 11 years. Honourable Sadads, I will keep it up, it is just that I am ill at this time and there is no internet.
::::However, that does not deter me from my goal of 10,000 edits by February.
::::In regards to the article, I would like to add more stuff but the Met Service (or any other reliable source I have found so far or that I am aware of) does not state what their work and services are.
::::However, once I am back in good health (and hopefully the telecommunications provider restores our internet by that time), I will look for reliable sources in regards to expanding the article further. Light (talk) 21:25, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
:::::As long as you are following policies and adding information that is permenantly useful, I think you are off to a good start! There are plenty of good sources in the Google Scholar search I just sent you, for example: https://cgspace.cgiar.org/items/35aab8a6-5144-4a6a-9fa3-edfcd5288383 -- has a really neat deep examination of the governance and impact of the org. Sadads (talk) 13:27, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion ↗ of :Charm Industrial ↗
left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗
The article :Charm Industrial ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''This article does not seem to meet the threshold for company notability as per WP:ORG ↗. There are very few sources discussing the subject on the internet, which overall are not sufficiently notable or impartial to support notability.'''</blockquote>
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion based on established criteria ↗.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion ↗ of the article at any time.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify -->Harryb7 (talk) 23:19, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to £2000 ($2680) in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! - Changes to user permissions made from Meta are now included in the local user permissions log (T6055 ↗).
- The autoconfirmed ↗ user group will soon be modified such that the four-day account age requirement begins when an account makes its first edit (T418484 ↗).
20px|alt= ↗ '''Arbitration'''
- The arbitration case ''SchroCat ↗'' has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case closed on 15 April.
- Per a recent motion ↗, appeals of blocks from the conflict-of-interest VRT queue ↗ are, by default, appealed on-wiki through the normal unblock process. However, they may be heard by the Committee if COIVRTers disagree on the interpretation of the evidence or believe ArbCom would be better suited to hear the appeal. Administrators are also advised that loosening or lifting such blocks without the consent of someone with access to the queue or ArbCom can be grounds for desysopping.
- Per a recent motion ↗, restrictions issued directly by the Committee may now be enforced with blocks which work exactly like contentious topic blocks.
- The arbitration case ''Maghreb ↗'' has been closed.
class=skin-invert|20px|alt= ↗ '''Miscellaneous'''
- The May 2026 administrator elections ↗ are scheduled to run from April 29 to May 19. The call for candidates ↗ ends May 5.
- The 2026 Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) election ↗ is scheduled to run from April 25 to June 1. Candidacy submissions ↗ close on May 10.
- A '''new noticeboard ↗''' for non-urgent, batch page protection requests has been created, primarily for the enforcement of contentious topic restrictions ↗.

Change of Name for no means no movement ( kinnaur)
Can you please undo it? I created the page title because there exists a no means no against sexual voilence movement too which is on large scale adding the name to the title help it not get distinguish but the place also gets a new found interest Himalayanvision (talk) 16:17, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
:So typically, you wouldn't create a "disambiguation" in the title, unless there are multiple significant pages already covering that topic that could be confused -- I have a hard time believing that the feminist slogan is confused for a "movement" in the same way that MeToo ↗ was -- reading up to it its been used more as a slogan for multiple campaigns. In the future, you usually solve this with top-headers on a page or disambiguation pages, Sadads (talk) 16:39, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
::Just do a simple google no means no and you will see yourself I am new to editing but this distinction matters a lot I am not sure how to undo your move but something happened now page is not working Himalayanvision (talk) 16:42, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
::Please don't add sexual voilence no means no on top of the page it doesn't makes sense to me we can remove the brackets if you want Himalayanvision (talk) 16:44, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
:::Hi, so that is no consistent with our practice to use hatnotes for pages where someone searching for one thing, could reasonably land on another.
:::When you search for "No means no movement ↗" in Google, it consistenly brings up this pages as a secondary link in the top 10 of Google searches. The No Means No Movement ↗ disambiguation page I created is coming up first, but there is still a reasonable path to finding it.
:::If you want to read more about disambiguation practices on Wikipedia I recommend Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Is_there_a_primary_topic? ↗ -- it is not clear to me that the campaign to prevent sexual violence is consistently seen as a "movement" but rather one tactic, among many others to work on sexual consent -- we need to make sure a reasonable searcher can find the other pages, Sadads (talk) 13:05, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
::::thankyou will keep it same as you have moved the page. Will go through guidelines
::::Best wishes for your work Himalayanvision (talk) 13:22, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
