2010–2017 Toronto serial homicides
Thanks for your updates to the article. I rewrote and expanded it several months ago, and have more-or-less been curating it since then. However, I am a dial-up user and struggling somewhat with the recent attention to the sizeable article. I would like to promote it at Wikipedia:In the news ↗ when I can get some sources and sufficiently update the article body. One note:
- We may need a better source for {{tq|McArthur is the most-prolific known serial killer ↗ in Toronto.}} as the source was originally hypothesizing on it and is several months out of date (it does not rule out that there has been another more prolific serial killer since then).
Capitalization
Please familiarize yourself with MOS:INSTITUTIONS ↗. We capitalize a word like "legislature" if it's appearing in the full proper name of a specific legislature — that is, you do capitalize it if you're actually writing "the Legislature of Ontario" — but not if you're just writing "the legislature" as a generic ''shorthand'' for a specific legislature. See links like this ↗ and this ↗ for examples — we follow standard writing style here, not corporate writing style with its constant overcapitalizations. Bearcat (talk) 02:35, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

Featuring your work on Wikipedia's front page: DYKs
Thank you for your recent articles, including Joan Bamford Fletcher ↗, which I read with interest. When you create an extensive and well referenced article, you may want to have it featured on Wikipedia's main page in the Did You Know section ↗. Articles included there will be read by thousands of our viewers. To do so, add your article to the list at T:TDYK ↗. This can be also done through this helpful user script: User:SD0001/DYK-helper. WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages
Thank you for your recent articles, including Joan Bamford Fletcher ↗, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment ↗ templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like <nowiki>{{WikiProject Keyword}}</nowiki> to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts ↗ and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts ↗, Popular Pages ↗, Quality and Importance Matrix ↗ and the Cleanup Listing ↗. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus|<span style="color:#7CFC00;background:#006400;"> reply here</span> 07:49, 7 July 2021 (UTC) Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus|<span style="color:#7CFC00;background:#006400;"> reply here</span> 07:49, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Frank Graves Article
Jiffles1,
I noticed you edited down some additions I made to the Frank Graves (pollster) ↗ page. I appreciate your clarifications on the language and structure. But I worry you also selectively removed critical, unflattering, but well-sourced facts about Mr Graves' past conduct. I hope that is not for the sake of advocacy and promotion.
I note that your first articles created back in 2009 were to create the pages for Mr. Graves and his company, Ekos Research Associates ↗. You have been routinely editing these pages over the intervening years and adding content that it seems only a close relationship or colleague would be aware of. As per WP:COI ↗, directly editing a page to which you hold a personal/financial interest or have an external relationship to is strongly discouraged. However a conflicted party can still propose edits in the talk page which they would like other editors to consider making (see WP:COIEDIT ↗).
Do you have an undisclosed connection to Frank Graves and/or Ekos Research Associates? If so, are you willing to abide by WP:COI ↗? I assume good faith and am happy to discuss the facts with you.
Be well.

Canada convoy protest
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1191027343 you removed saying that the comment is about vaccine mandates. No, you are incorrect. The professor said that in relation to emergency act invoked by Canada in response to the truckers convoy. Please read the news citation, original tweet to understand the chronology.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1191027159. First comments from other prominent figures were removed (e.g. indocanadian Sikhs and MP) in https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1186892450 then you removed the last one. That's how news are sanitized sadly.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1190595551 the section is about media opinion so you removing it saying that it is opinion is not correct reasoning. The second point is that the backlash was not severe, you are just moving the goalpost to sanitize the document.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1190597999 you claim nyt is already discussed. Fair enough, then remove just that. Why are removing the other news and commentators? <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned ↗ comment added by Mittgaurav (talk • contribs ↗) 23:32, 30 December 2023 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
:Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. As I'm sure you've noticed, the Canada convoy protest ↗ article is running quite long and I've been trying to condense it bit by bit. I've been focusing on removing material that either gets repeated or that I don't feel adds anything to the article.
:With regards to Saad's comments, I didn't feel they warranted a mention (let alone an entire paragraph) since he wasn't a major figure in the convoy protests, he isn't a major public figure in general, and he does not appear to be an expert on the subject matter. We can't include every comment that anyone has ever made about the protests and we have to make decisions ↗ about what is worth including and what isn't.
:Some of the material I removed ran into other issues as well. For instance, I removed {{Diff2|1190597999|this sentence}} since it runs afoul of Wikpedia's policy on maintaining a neutral point of view ↗; statements like "Several news outlets... pointed out the hypocrisy in the Canadian politicians" are not encyclopedic language. I removed {{Diff2|1191027159|this sentence}} and {{Diff2|1190595551|this sentence}} since they run into problems with original research ↗; it other words, we can't combine sources to draw conclusions that aren't mentioned in any of the individual sources. Also, the latter sentence was sourced exclusively to an opinion piece ↗, which are not generally accepted as sources.
:Anyways, I hope this clears up my reasoning (I realize my edit summaries can be overly brief at times). Cheers! Jiffles1 (talk) 05:05, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

Rollback
right|130px ↗
Hi Jiffles1. After reviewing your request, I have <span class="plainlinks">enabled ↗</span> rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle ↗ or Ultraviolet ↗. It just adds a ''[Rollback]'' button next to a page's latest live revision - ''that's all''. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert ''clear and unambiguous cases'' of vandalism <ins>only</ins>. ''Never'' use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, '''''ask!'''''
Hello!
Hi Jiffles1! No worries at all! I’m an active rollbacker on another Wikipedia, and I just wanted to stop by here to help out with some anti-vandalism patrolling. And by the way, congrats on the recently assigned rollback! Cheers! Tres Libras (talk) 02:13, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
:Thanks! I was using Huggle and the page refreshed with your edit just as I hit 'revert' - tried to abort, but my reflexes apparently aren't what they used to be. Anyways, welcome to (this) Wikipedia! Happy editing! Jiffles1 (talk) 02:28, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
im not doing vandalism
it only thinks im doing vandalism because i am adding stuff quickly. all i'm doing is going to random pages and adding more detail. 99.247.80.108 ↗ (talk) 23:37, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
:Thanks for reaching out. Your edits are not being reverted because of their quantity. The two edits I reverted – this one ↗ and this one ↗ – did not add more detail but introduced typos into the article. Please review your changes carefully before posting and, if you need practice, please consider using the sandbox ↗. Jiffles1 (talk) 03:20, 14 November 2024 (UTC)

Authenticity of the article Bhavisya Malika ↗ + the marketed book
This article is very disputed, and there's no proof that it's a correct translation of the original Bhavishya Malika. We don't know if it's true or not. News channels have talked about this a lot, but they're mostly repeating what the Pandit spread propoganda. Sadly, nobody has questioned the mistakes in this translated book, which seems to have been made just to make money.I wrote this after carefully reading this book and looking into its problems. Kharavela Deva (talk) 05:20, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
:{{reply to|Kharavela Deva}} Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. If you'd like to add a section about a dispute regarding the subject, you're welcome to do so. Just be sure to include a citation ↗ to a reliable source. For example, take a look at ''The Vegetarian ↗'', which has a section ↗ discussing criticisms of the book's English translation. That section is supported by citations to reliable sources so that readers can verify the information. Citations are essential for maintaining Wikipedia's reliability and preventing content from appearing opinion-based. Happy editing! Jiffles1 (talk) 15:42, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
Warning people
I noticed you recently reverted an edit ↗, but forgot to warn them. In the future please do so or else they might repeat their disruptive behaviour or be discouraged and stop editing Wikipedia.I also noticed you use Huggle, so please don't forget to click the revert button with the warning icon. <span style="color: green">Sangsangaplaz</span> (<span style="color: orange">Talk to me! :@Sangsangaplaz Hi there! Thanks for your message. I believe I did leave warnings for both the edits to Busan American Cultural Service building arson ↗ that I reverted (see the user's talk page). I noticed the edit you subsequently reverted ({{diff|diff=1260491522|label=this one}}) was made by an IP user with a very similar (but slightly different) address. Could this be what you were looking at? Let me know if there's anything else I might have overlooked. Jiffles1 (talk) 02:07, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
::Maybe I'm not sure I was patrolling recent changes pretty absentmindedly, I tend to send these messages because so many people who revert vandalism and patrol recent changes forget to warn the user so many times. <span style="color: green">Sangsangaplaz</span> (<span style="color: orange">Talk to me! I'm willing to help</span>) 02:14, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
:::Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. Admittedly, I didn’t start (consistently) warning users until recently, so I’m certainly guilty on that front. Anyway, glad to know someone is double-checking my work. Happy Saturday! Jiffles1 (talk) 02:23, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

:@20peace freedom25 Thanks for reaching out. I understand the death of a child is tragic. However, Wikipedia follows a neutral point of view ↗, which means avoiding subjective language like "sadly." Per MOS:EDITORIAL ↗, we should present information impartially and let readers form their own conclusions.
:Also, please keep WP:CIVIL ↗ in mind when engaging with other users. If you have concerns about the edit, I’m happy to discuss them. Jiffles1 (talk) 14:39, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

:@Caeryllium Hi there! Like all Wikipedia users, I am a volunteer ↗. I use tools to monitor recent changes and I reverted your edit to Wilmette Junior High School ↗ because it appeared to be a test, which isn't appropriate since readers expect reliable information. The message I left on your talk page was generated automatically to save time. If you'd like to experiment or practice editing, please use your personal sandbox ↗.
:Also, please keep in mind Wikipedia's talk page guidelines ↗ when interacting with other users. In particular, writing in all caps is considered shouting ↗, which can be disruptive. Jiffles1 (talk) 13:12, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
Stop Reediting My Content
Your recent editing history at Grand Slam (professional wrestling) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. An edit war occurs when two or more users begin repeatedly reverting content on a page in a back-and-forth fashion to restore it back to how they think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree with their changes. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or undo the edits made by other editors when your changes are reverted. Instead, please use the talk page to work toward creating a version of the page that represents consensus among the editors involved. The best practice at this time is to stop editing the page and to discuss the disagreements, issues, and concerns at-hand with the other editors involved in the dispute. Wikipedia provides a page that helps to detail how this is accomplished. If discussions reach an impasse, you can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard, or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection while a discussion to resolve the dispute is ongoing. Cenation Dog (talk) 09:34, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
:@Cenation Dog Hi there! I think there's been a mix-up. I haven't made any edits to Grand Slam (professional wrestling) ↗. Looking at the page history, you seem to be having a content dispute with an IP user, but I'm not connected to that editor.
:As a side note, please keep in mind WP:OWN ↗. Comments such as "Stop reediting ''my'' content" can give the impression you see parts of the article as ''yours'', which isn't how Wikipedia works. Once something is added to Wikipedia, it effectively becomes community property, and anyone can improve, edit, or remove it (as long as it's in line with Wikipedia's policies).
:Happy editing! Jiffles1 (talk) 11:43, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
::My bad bro, I meant to send this to someone else but thanks for the advice bro! Cenation Dog (talk) 07:22, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

Jiffles1, do you have a soul?
Are you an enemy of the proletariat? Are you a robot? Do you prowl for incorrect edits manually, or do you unleash a horde of monitoring bots to prevent vandalism. Either way, I have created a haiku for you:
Jiffles, I hate you.
Editing is my passion.
And you have stole it.
I will call it Jiffles. It is a beautiful poem. A poem of the people. Thank you for your time and your constructive reversion of my edit. ~2025-40283-89 ↗ (talk) 15:43, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
:@~2025-40283-89 I'm sorry you hate me. To be clear, I haven't "stolen" your ability to edit. You're still welcome to make improvements. Why not visit the Wikipedia Task Center ↗ for suggestions as to how you can contribute? Jiffles1 (talk) 16:44, 19 February 2026 (UTC)

The gay flag
Hi Jiffles—I saw your comment on my talk page. For the gay ↗ article, I still need to find a reliable source. I will keep it that way when I do. Dmdjdu (talk) 00:56, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
:Not to mention, I SPECIFICALLY stated that it was mostly used for men. I will revert it again Dmdjdu (talk) 01:06, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
::@Dmdjdu Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. Finding reliable sources is the right next step. However, keep in mind you'll need to provide sourcing that clearly shows that the flag is widely recognized and used. Additionally, you'll need a reliable source for the "mostly used for men" statement.
::Once you've found something solid, it's best to start a discussion on the article's talk page ↗ before re-adding it, since it's a fairly significant change. In the meantime, please don't restore your edit without proper sourcing. Cheers! Jiffles1 (talk) 01:13, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

::::@~2026-25485-65 No, I am very much human with my flabby skin and squishy internal organs. However, the message I left on your talk page was generated automatically using a tool called Twinkle. In my free time, I patrol recent edits and revert the ones I don't find constructive. As a courtesy, I always leave a warning message on the user's talk page to let them know ''why'' their edit was reverted (it's always best to assume good faith ↗ on Wikipedia). Twinkle allows me to do this with a few clicks, rather than write a new message from scratch every single time. Jiffles1 (talk) 03:43, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
