WP:PLACEDAB ↗ and Nigeria

Hi, I notice that you've been active in making pagemoves and requested moves over the last while. As you know, I've started a discussion concerning WP:PLACEDAB ↗ and expect that the current policy will be updated soon. This would mean that all ambiguous Nigerian cities would follow the format Placename, Nigeria ↗, and not Placename, State ↗ as the policy currently specifies. I'd ask that you consider pausing your activity for a few days; once the policy is in place, then these moves will be uncontroversial and the articles can be moved per the new standard. 162 etc. (talk)

{{U|162 etc.}} Okay, but what about the ones that have been moved?

|style="vertical-align: middle; border-top: 1px solid gray;" | So Super 6 ended yesterday, and I was thinking about creating time to work on the article. It was nice to see you already beat me to it. I use to be only one committed to updating these articles, but I feel really glad to know that there is someone else that is dedicated to creating detailed articles on our elite football. For this reason, I am issuing you this barnster. HandsomeBoy (talk) 14:15, 23 May 2022 (UTC)

:I am a member of a closed WhatsApp group that contains most of the key administrators in the NWFL, I am wondering if you are also there? HandsomeBoy (talk) 14:17, 23 May 2022 (UTC)

Thanks, I am even surprised that there are other Wikipedians concerned about NWFL and Nigerian women's football.

I am not on that WhatsApp group.
Josedimaria237 (talk) 15:01, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
:What's even more surprising is that we are both male, where are the Nigerian women editors????. I actually started contributing in this area because of the obvious content gap, but along the line I started to really follow and enjoy women's football. I streamed the entire UWCL game on YouTube live, and I really enjoyed that game. For Nigeria, I mostly only watch highlights, but will be glad to visit a stadium one of this days, at least it will be an avenue to get pictures into some of these wiki articles. Hope you have joined WikiProject Nigeria? HandsomeBoy (talk) 15:14, 23 May 2022 (UTC)

Me too I would like to watch a NWFL game and I follow women's football a lot.

I will like to join WikiProject Nigeria because a lot of Nigerian articles need heavy updates and I need users who can contribute to Nigerian football updates with pictures, I am finding it difficult to upload pictures on Wikipedia and I have stopped as it may lead to me getting blocked if I remain persistent.

Note regarding Draft:Alexander Arkadyevich Kaufman

{{ping|Josedimaria}}
Hello, and thank you for the previous review of my draft. I wanted to let you know that I have thoroughly revised and rewritten the article, addressing all the concerns you raised. The draft now includes independent, secondary sources such as the SPWLA obituary, the Colorado School of Mines “Faculty Spotlight,” and the SEG honors listing. I have resubmitted the draft through AfC. Thanks again for your feedback.

::Draft:Alexander Arkadyevich Kaufman (geophysicist) - Wikipedia ↗ GITSK (talk) 06:26, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
::@Josedimaria: Thank you for your helpful comments on my draft.
::1. Regarding your first point about non-trivial secondary coverage beyond tributes:
:: the draft already cites several independent sources that provide in-depth coverage of Kaufman’s career and scientific work. For convenience, here are direct links:
::* **Colorado School of Mines “Geophysics Newsletter” – SEG Honorary Membership (Spring 2005)** – independent coverage of his contributions and career.
:: https://www.mines.edu/geophysics/wp-content/uploads/sites/30/2017/08/geophysics-newsletter-spring-2005.pdf
::* **Colorado School of Mines “Professor Kaufman: A Perfect 10” (Spring 2002)** –independent coverage of his teaching, reputation among students, publications.
:: https://www.mines.edu/geophysics/wp-content/uploads/sites/30/2017/08/geophysics-newsletter-spring-2002.pdf
::* **Geophysical Journal International (1996 review by M. N. Berdichevsky)** – a peer-reviewed academic review discussing the theoretical contributions of Kaufman’s monograph (read the first paragraph of the review).
:: https://academic.oup.com/gji/article/127/2/559/592834?login=false
::2. Regarding the title: there is another notable historical figure with the same full name, Alexander Arkadyevich Kaufman (1864–1919), who was a Russian economist. To avoid confusion between the two, I kept the “(geophysicist)” disambiguator. If you prefer a different disambiguation format, I am happy to adjust it. Кауфман, Александр Аркадьевич — Википедия ↗

Hello Josedimaria:

'''WikiProject Articles for creation ↗''' is holding a '''month long Backlog Drive ↗ in December!'''<br />
The goal of this drive is to '''reduce''' the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.

You may find :Category:AfC pending submissions by age ↗ or other categories and sorting ↗ helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.<br />
There is a backlog of over {{Rounddown|{{formatnum:3000|R}}|-2}} pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help!

Laguna Los Portillos ↗ moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Laguna Los Portillos ↗. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because '''it needs more sources to establish notability''' and '''a large proportion of the links are broken and so cannot be verified. Sources referring directly to the lagoon rather than the border dispute and the San Juan river would be welcome
'''.
I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page ↗.
When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Boynamedsue (talk) 16:24, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

Jeff Dodds

Hi there - I was searching for a page for Jeff Dodds, the Formula E CEO and then thought about creating it. I saw there was an AfC that you declined in December draft:Jeff Dodds ↗ for not meeting notability. Quite a lot of those references look like they'd pass WP:GNG to me (especially Reuters, Guardian and ESPN pieces), but I wonder if you could let me know your thoughts around why you declined it? I don't want to spend any time on it if you don't think it's a goer, but equally feel that it's a page that would carry encyclopaedic value, especially to us motorsport fans. Thanks. WestminsterTown (talk) 20:27, 14 May 2026 (UTC)

:{{ping|WestminsterTown}} You can work on the issues raised by the editors who declined the page and resubmit for review, but I agree with you that it now meets WP:GNG ↗. <span style="color:#9400D3;"><i></i></span>''hola'' 20:54, 14 May 2026 (UTC)

:::Just a heads up that I've worked on the page today and made some edits. Mainly around removing content that was superfluous or sounded promotional in tone. Hello @Josedimaria

I am the subject of the article Chandra Kafle ↗ and have a conflict of interest (COI), so I cannot edit it directly.

You recently reviewed this article, so I thought you might be able to help.

Currently, there is a low quality WEBP image in the article taken from my website without proper licensing.

Could you please: remove the current WEBP image replace it with the Commons image in the infobox

And please don't just dump a reference on the airline - references in these tables belong against the routes being served, not the airline. <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 07:54, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
::{{ping|Danners430}} That was a mistake. However I would like to restore my edits you reverted in order for me to add the references (per route), thank you. <span style="color:#9400D3;"><i></i></span>''hola'' 08:04, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

Brad Skistimas

Hello - thank you for reviewing the Brad Skistimas page I created. I was hoping you could explain more on your decision. As you can see the article has sources from the Houston Chronicle, CBS News, Seventeen Magazine, Billboard, Houston Press, Dallas Observer, Teen Vogue, and Washington Examiner. There are references spanning the last 20 years so clearly the references aren't in passing. Thank you for your time. Lyricalliberty (talk) 15:40, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

:Most of the sources used on the draft only contain passing mentions of the artiste. None of them have in-depth coverage or description of them or their works. I have added the "citation needed" tag to some sections, let's begin with that.{{Ping|Lyricalliberty}} <span style="color:#9400D3;"><i></i></span>''hola'' 16:49, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
::Understood - thank you. Happy to work on it. I just added all the citations you requested. Please let me know what else you think. Lyricalliberty (talk) 17:00, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
:::Hi @Josedimaria - I added a bunch last week. Is there anything else you feel needs improvement? Lyricalliberty (talk) 14:13, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
