Route boxes on station articles: contrast problem

Hi, {{diff|Londonderry railway station|prev|531678323|this edit}} reminded me that we have a widespread problem across station articles: blue text on a blue background just isn't readable. :That's a pretty clever solution. Only thing is that after just editing 50-something stations with text background route colours, I'm slightly less inclined to go back through and edit every single one of them again to use coloured stripes instead. However, I could do what I did with a darker blue-coloured line, and use spans to make the link text white instead of blue for this line as well. Still shows up against the blue, and seems readable enough to me. ~ Karl H. 22:29, 6 January 2013 (UTC) ~
::The problem with making the links white is that it goes against the second bullet of WP:CONTRAST ↗ - "Links should clearly be identifiable as a link to our readers". ::::Sure, if you like. I'll start editing some as well - may as well take a bit of work off your hands. The Republic doesn't have any route colours that I'm aware of, then again, I haven't seen any of their timetables as of late. Northern Ireland's timetables and maps have used distinct colours for their lines for about ten years now, Wikipedia's just never reflected that. Oh well, may as well just stations in the south be for now until I can get my hands on an Iarnród Éireann timetable, but feel free to get started on the north. ~ Karl H. 21:16, 18 January 2013 (UTC) ~
::::P.S. In case the route colours change in future (which is entirely possible), I've created a bunch of templates you can use instead of the route colours on each individual station. That way, all the pages don't have to be individually changed if a colour changes to a slightly different shade of green.

Hi. As far as I'm aware, the Executive is now no longer functioning and no ministers exist. I took this from the BBC. MLAs will continue to sit in the Assembly until the 26th, but the Executive is no longer. My interpretation was that since the Economy Minister's debate on RHI costs has been postponed till next week, that he must still technically be a minister for that debate to happen or be of any use, even if only in a caretaker capacity (obviously nothing useful can happen without a FM/dFM). FOI Request

Just as an FYI, your friend accidentally messed up on asking the FOI request on station codes (don't worry I'm not about to remove them.) They asked "I was hoping to find out whether NIR had a similar setup of station codes ('''whether just currently in internal use or more widely'''), and if so, what those codes are?" (Emphasis mine.) As a result we don't know if those codes are purely internal DB identifiers or if they're publically and commonly used. <b style="color: Blue;">Canterbury Tail</b> <i style="color: Blue;">talk</i> 21:12, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
:Ah bugger, apologies - that's my fault - I scribbled down the gist of the request for David and asked him to fire it in because I don't have a WDTK account, whereas he's used it before. I clearly wasn't precise enough with it. For what it's worth, anecdotally I know the codes pre-date the current API (hence some anachronisms like 'BE' for Titanic Quarter), are used as shorthand internally for various purposes, and they do occasionally crop up in the public-facing world on JourneyCheck reports or service issue updates if you're quick to spot them. They're just not quite as ubiquitous as GB's station codes. But obviously none of that is citeable or linkable (or permanent!). I'll maybe get David to send in another more precisely-worded request.
