Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia ↗! Thank you for your contributions ↗; however, ''please'' remember the essential rule of respecting copyright ↗s. '''Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page :Taxis of Hong Kong ↗, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless that text is available under a suitable free license ↗.''' It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you ''can'' clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is the Teahouse ↗, or you can {{edit|Special:MyTalk|click here to ask a question on your talk page|section=new|preload=Help:Contents/helpmepreload|preloadtitle=Help me!}} and someone will be along to answer it shortly. As you get started, you may find the pages below to be helpful.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name ↗ on talk pages using four tilde ↗s (<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! <!-- Template:Welcome-copyright --> — Diannaa (talk) 23:52, 25 July 2024 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi Ilovefood123123! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor&#32;at :Hong Kong ↗ that may not have been. "Minor edit ↗" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections ↗ or reverting obvious vandalism ↗. Any edit that changes the <em>meaning</em> of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. ''Adding references and figures are not minor.'' <!-- Template:uw-minor --> — <span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">MarkH<small>21</small><span style="background-color:navy; color:white;">talk</span></span> 13:00, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

:My apologies, I never realised the actual meaning for "minor edits", please forgive me as I am rather new to editing the Wikipedia. I appreciate and thank you for pointing this out. Is there a way for me to revert this? Ilovefood123123 (talk) 13:05, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
::It's okay! There is no way to change past edits, but you can avoid clicking on the "minor edit" box in the future unless the edit is just fixing a typo or something else mentioned at WP:MINOR ↗. Proposed deletion ↗ of :St. Anne's Church, Hong Kong ↗

left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗

The article :St. Anne's Church, Hong Kong ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗&#32;because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''Run-of-the-mill parish church; WP:BEFORE ↗ turns up no evidence of special notability, though there may be Chinese sources I'm not seeing.'''</blockquote>

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> — Moriwen (talk) 20:35, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies ↗

Hello Ilovefood123123, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies ↗, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies ↗.

Deletion discussions ↗ usually run for seven days and are ''not'' votes. Our guide ↗ about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability ↗, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with <code><nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>Noleander<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>. And don't forget to sign your reply with <code><nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></code> . Thanks!

This prohibition is broadly construed ↗, so it includes edits such as adding the reaction of a public figure concerning the conflict to their article or noting the position of a company or organization as it relates to the conflict.

The exception to this rule is that you may request a specific change to an article ↗ on the talk page of that article or at this page ↗. 25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi, and thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of :King and Wood ↗ by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move ↗", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history ↗, which is legally required for attribution ↗. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be ''moved'' to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits ↗, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab ↗ at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu ↗ for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect ↗ from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves ↗ to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge ↗. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-c&pmove --> <span style="color:Purple;font-size:medium;font-family:Bradley Hand ITC">ASUKITE</span> ↗ 04:05, 30 March 2026 (UTC)

King and Wood ↗ moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to King and Wood ↗. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because '''it has no sources''' and '''it is promotional and reads like an advertisement'''.
I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page ↗.
When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. <span style="color:Purple;font-size:medium;font-family:Bradley Hand ITC">ASUKITE</span> ↗ 03:49, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. I have noticed that you {{usertalk other|often ↗|often}} edit without using an edit summary ↗. Please do your best to {{strong|always fill in the summary field}}. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to set {{Preferences|Editing|Editor|check={{int:tog-forceeditsummary}}}}. Thanks! <!-- Template:Uw-editsummary2 --> Graywalls (talk) 20:57, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

left|25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello ManducatingMouser. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements ↗. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest ↗ (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. '''Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia.''' Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view ↗ and what Wikipedia is not ↗ and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation ↗ regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization ↗.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing and should instead propose changes on the talk page ↗ of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation ↗ process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are '''<u>required</u> by the Wikimedia Terms of Use ↗ to disclose your employer, client and affiliation.''' You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:ManducatingMouser. The template {{tl|Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{tlc|paid|2=user=ManducatingMouser|3=employer=<var>InsertName</var>|4=client=<var>InsertName</var>}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, '''do not edit further''' until you answer this message. ''Over multiple articles, the nature of your edit hints paid public relations editing''<!-- Template:Uw-paid1 --> Graywalls (talk) 20:59, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

:Hello @Graywalls, thank you for your message. I apologise for not using edit summaries to edit on the Wikipedia, I will be using edit summaries going forward.
:I am not entirely sure as for why you might have an impression that I have been paid or is expected to be paid for my edits. I am someone who is currently studying law in Hong Kong and have simply seen the inadequacy in the up keeping of law related article pages in Hong Kong (and law in general throughout Wikipedia really), alongside other Hong Kong related articles, and have seen the need to fill in some of the gaps of such as much as practicable. The work I mainly focus on, given the time when I am able to, is generally based on law and perhaps to say the very least very broad and is not specific to one organisation (nor is it something done to improve one specific organisation's public relations or however you may frame it).
:Regardless of your suspicion, I shall take it as a compliment that my work has been recognised to the point where it is mistaken as something that may have been paid forward.
:Please do not hesitate to contact me further if you have any further inquiries, such that we can both do our best in improving the Wikipedia as a whole. Cheers! ManducatingMouser (talk) 07:40, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
