I understand the need to revert unconstructive edits made by IP editors ↗.

But to ''decapitate'' someone is to cut off their head. There is no such thing as a "decapitated head" unless one is Zaphod Beeblebrox ↗. What Bhai Jiwan Singh transported was a ''severed'' head. DS (talk) 21:43, 27 September 2025 (UTC)

I was focused on that IP user's uncited claims when I reverted them that I did not notice the decapitation/severance distinction they had corrected. I will be more careful going forward. Hira Singh of Nabha



I did a very minor edit of Hira Singh's Legacy and I'd like to post the image Valentine Princep did of him around 1879. I copied it from Princep's travelogue of that time. Could you help me post it? My Wikipedia editing skills are rather minimal. I am slowly studying Sikh history in the Cis-Sutlej mainly because my guru was born near Bhatinda in 1926 and in World War Two served in 1st Patiala infantry. There's a massive flaw in this argument:

"He is the founder of the religion and philosophy of Sikhism. The word "Sikh" translates to "disciple" or "learner." Guru Nanak was the Guru (teacher or enlightener). Logically, he could not be a disciple of the path he was actively originating. This is redundant and logically flawed as he was born into a Hindu family."

It is failing to understand that originator of a particular philosophy and religion can also be the adherent of it, for philosophy and religion is not something material. It also is taking the literal translation of "sikh" to preclude the possibility of Nanak from adhering to this religion, because he is a "guru" within this religion, what is worse however is that this edit is populating the parameter with "Hinduism" which amounts to POV pushing.
