Hi Mmberney. Thank you for your work on Unicorn Hotel, Manchester ↗. Another editor, Aszx5000, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol ↗ and left the following comment:

{{Bq|1=I think you should be autopatrolled ↗. You are consistently constructing high quality articles on Wikipedia which don't need to be patrolled. thanks}}

:{{Re|Aszx5000}} Thanks very much for the kind words, that's really appreciated and unexpected. I honestly didn't realise my articles were being noticed in that way, and I didn't know autopatrol was a thing. Do I need to do anything to start the process? Mmberney (talk) 19:50, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
::Just go to autopatrolled ↗ and ask for the permission. You might even like to join us at WP:NPP ↗ if it was of interest? thanks. Aszx5000 (talk) 09:59, 18 April 2026 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted

right|80px ↗
Hi Mmberney, I just wanted to let you know that I have <span class="plainlinks">added ↗</span> the autopatrolled user right ↗ to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed ↗. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested ↗ on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers ↗.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject ↗ templates, stub tags ↗, categories ↗, and incoming links ↗ to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies ↗, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller ↗ yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Chetsford (talk) 05:44, 20 April 2026 (UTC)

Promotion of Listed pubs in Manchester ↗

|text = Congratulations, Mmberney! The list you nominated, '''Listed pubs in Manchester ↗''', has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best lists on Wikipedia. The '''nomination discussion ↗''' has been archived.{{parabr}}This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it ↗ to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured list. Keep up the great work! Cheers, {{user0|PresN}} via FACBot (talk) 23:26, 17 May 2026 (UTC)

:Just increble work, I've really enjoted reading these testaments to these ale palaces. So much life and history, cheers! No Swan So Fine (talk) 19:53, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
::Thank you for the kind words, I'm pleased others are reading about them. I set myself the mission of creating an article for every listed pub in Greater Manchester ↗, and it's been an interesting endeavour, especially given how many have unfortunately closed. But their histories deserve to be captured, so I'll carry on. Mmberney (talk) 20:59, 22 May 2026 (UTC)

If you ever get the chance to go inside, seize it - it is very interesting. KJP1 (talk) 13:13, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

:Hi KJP1, lovely to hear from you, and thanks for the (duly noted) message. As you may have guessed, I've set myself another lengthy task: working through the Greater Manchester Grade II* listed buildings' articles to see what might be improved or added. I've also recently finished ''what I hope'' is a complete list of all the listed pubs in Greater Manchester. That was actually an enjoyable endeavour but I'm not planning to suggest a featured list for those, unless you think the mission would be worth it! All the best. Mmberney (talk) 13:19, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
::Yes, and you’re uncovering, and improving, a lot of juvenile stubs of mine in the process! But I at least gave you a reasonably comprehensive set of images. Out of interest, how many listed pubs in GM are there? It may well be worth an FLC, but I don’t know if there are any specific rules about sub-sets that would then affect the Listed pubs in Manchester? PresN would know. Best regards. KJP1 (talk) 14:27, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
:::Your Pevsner / Hartwell et al citations have also been really helpful when the likes of NHLE had little or no information.
:::There are now 131 articles in Category:Grade II listed pubs in Greater Manchester ↗ (excluding the two non-pub entries), plus three Grade II* listed pubs (The Bank ↗, Memorial Hall ↗, and Ye Olde Boar's Head ↗) giving a total of 134 by my count. I'm slightly unsure whether creating and nominating a GM-wide list would just complicate matters: each boroughs' Buildings & Structures template now includes its listed and notable pubs, so readers could find them geographically without difficulty. Perhaps, to avoid seeming too Manchester-centric, a City of Salford list (14 pubs) might be more worthwhile? I'd be happy to get further views on the above - should I start with PresN?
:::On a related note, do you think Grosvenor Picture Palace ↗ should also be be added to Manchester's listed pubs? Many thanks again. Mmberney (talk) 14:59, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
::::130-odd is certainly doable within a single list. I think the question is whether a GM-wide one would be the best way of presenting it, or whether mirrors of your Manchester one, e.g. Salford as you suggest, may be better. I see the BEER WP: Project is inactive, but you may get some views at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Greater Manchester ↗. Equally, PresN, who's worked on FL for a long while, may have seen something similar that may suggest an approach.
::::As to the Picture Palace, I think it probably should. It's listed, and it's now a pub. Does it differ in any way in this regard from The Bank in The Portico? KJP1 (talk) 15:25, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
:::::Appreciate that - I've sent talk messages to both PresN and the GM WikiProject. I'm not quite sure how GPP missed inclusion in the list initially, but I spotted it in the category listing and just wanted to check with someone about its candidacy. You're right to compare it to The Bank - even though their original uses were different, both are listed buildings that now operate as pubs within larger former premises. Thanks again.
