ArbCom elections are now open! ↗

Hi,<br>
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election ↗. The Arbitration Committee ↗ is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process ↗. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans ↗, topic bans ↗, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy ↗ describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements ↗ and submit your choices on the voting page ↗. "See"

Hi, just a note that you don't need to write "See" before every citation. The only thing to do is see them. Also, per WP:OVERLINKING ↗, you shouldn't wikilink common terms. Opencooper (talk) 18:06, 29 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages ↗. I have undone the last three edits you made to this article for two reasons, First, you added citations using a different style from the established style for the article. Second, the existing citations adequately support the article content. No new information was added. See Wikipedia:Citing sources ↗: "Each article should use one citation method or style throughout. If an article already has citations, preserve consistency by using that method or seek consensus on the talk page before changing it." The general rule is, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Thanks, Aymatth2 (talk) 10:50, 3 May 2018 (UTC)

Flagging of minor edits

Hello Motekov, thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A minor point though (no pun intended): please do not flag edits with any substantial changes as "minor". That flag is usually reserved for "superficial" changes, not for anything substantial like added or removed content, or a change in the text's meaning. You'll find a more detailed - and better - description of minor edits at Help:Minor edit ↗. Best regards. GermanJoe (talk) 20:19, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
:You are still doing this. Please do ''not'' flag substantial edits as "minor". Thanks. Ghmyrtle (talk) 07:38, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

Template:Internet Archive author ↗

Please fill in the {{para|sname}} (search name) argument because even though it works without it today, if the page name is ever moved in the future eg. "John Smith" -> "John Smith (blacksmith") the search will stop working. Hi, I removed the inclusion ↗ of the template for two reasons: 1) it did not include a {{para|sname}} (see above). 2) the search results came back with no viable works but this person. Internet Archive author

Please be careful about using this template. You have often not been doing it right and I have to go back and fix it. Also, it's for linking authors, not book titles. There is a different template for linking books. But you need to understand what you are doing. -- <span style="color: #006A4E;">'''Green'''</span><span style="color: #093;">'''C'''</span> 16:00, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
:{{ping|GreenC}} I have no idea why Motekov is adding these irrelevant books to articles. I just reverted this addition ↗ of a book to Baker McKenzie ↗, where the book did not even mention "Baker McKenzie". Magnolia677 (talk) 11:46, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
::Motekov, could you please explain this edit ↗? Magnolia677 (talk) 11:50, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
:::{{ping|Magnolia677}} I think in this case they are referring to Ch. Ukraine Law Digest ↗ authored by Chadbourne & Parke ↗ the topic of the article. It would be good if they could link to the chapter page number (".../page/n2201") in the URL so it's clear what is being linked and why. One problem with this link is that the book is not available to be borrowed or browsed, except for those with a disability, which is a small audience. A 2-page spread preview is available to everyone, but that is useless for this book since it is linking the entire chapter and not, say, a single fact or quote on a single page. Internet Archive has different levels of viewing permission and this book is one of the higher levels of restriction. As I said above, if you are going to link to Internet Archive you need to understand what you are doing so as not to cause useless links. -- <span style="color: #006A4E;">'''Green'''</span><span style="color: #093;">'''C'''</span> 15:31, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
::::{{ping|GreenC}} Thanks for the info. I'm struggling to see the value to Wikipedia's readers, per WP:EL ↗, from all these external links. Magnolia677 (talk) 16:29, 15 December 2020 (UTC)

Creation of species-level articles

Hello ! I noticed you were creating stub-grade species articles about ''Eleniceras ↗''. The general policy of the wikiproject is currently that species-level articles should be avoided when there isn't enough material to make it more than a stub-class or start-class article. Maybe try merging those articles with ''Eleniceras ↗'', in a species section ? One big genus article with a lot of information is always better than a lot of species article with three lines of information, generally. Hope that helps ! Larrayal (talk) 14:15, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello! Voting in the '''2025 Arbitration Committee elections ↗''' is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on {{#time:l, j F Y|{{Arbitration Committee candidate/data|2025|end}}-1 day}}. All '''eligible users ↗''' are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee ↗ is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process ↗. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans ↗, topic bans ↗, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy ↗ describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates ↗ and submit your choices on the '''2025|poll}}|voting page ↗'''. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{tlx|NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. <small>MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 18 November 2025 (UTC)</small>

Recent edit reversion

In this edit here ↗, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy ↗.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. <span style="color:#000E2F;padding:0 4px;font-family: Copperplate Gothic Light">S Philbrick</span><span style=";padding:0 4px;color:# 000;font-family: Copperplate Gothic Light">(Talk)</span> 13:36, 7 December 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions&nbsp;to :John Chipman Gray ↗. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments ↗ to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview ↗ button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in yellow at the top of the page. You can also install the userscript ↗ found here to help find and eliminate these errors. Thanks.<!---Template:Uw-dupargs---> '''<span style="color:#00d5ff !important">Zack</span><span style="color:#007F94 !important">mann</span>''' (Talk to me ↗/<span style="color:orange !important">What I been doing</span> ↗) 18:04, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

:Thank you for your warning, but you if have enough time, and compare the written interview and the video you will discover important differences...thus, they are complementary!! Motekov (talk) 15:05, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
::It is not appropriate for you to first revert the content back to your preferred version and then to write a conciliatory note following an edit warring warning. Please remove the disputed content and start a discussion on the appropriate talk page ↗ in order to resolve our disagreement. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 15:08, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
:::I do not want to argue! But I did it with it a clear conscience! If you feel the same, please remove again my addition to the article! Motekov (talk) 15:12, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
::::Please stop using exclamation marks after each sentence—it makes it seem like you are shouting at me, which would be inappropriate. I'm not disputing your conscience—I'm merely stating that I think you are mistaken to continue re-adding the youtube link. I am open to discussing the matter with you, however—on the appropriate talk page. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 15:15, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::You are free to do whatever you want, Motekov (talk) 15:18, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
