It's taken me all day yesterday to create and I am trying very hard! Not exactly sure as to why it's not notable ... the club are playing in Serie D ↗ = League Two ↗ in England ↗ (so they're playing "League football", not "non-League"). Also, you have to understand it is difficult to provide reliable sources for a club that has only been in existence since 2020, especially when I have to source information from websites such as Transfermarkt ↗ (which User:Sir Sputnik doesn't want anyone to use as a source for verification because they consider it "unreliable"). Another two sources I have used are TuttoCalciatori and TuttoCampo. I would try and source more information from the club's official website, however it is still "a work in progress", meaning not everything is available on there. Matese lost in the play-offs and had they played in the final and won, they would have been playing Serie C ↗ football for the 2021/22 season.

:Looks good! Just in case you were wondering why I wrote "Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Football Club Matese", I was using A.C. Milan ↗ as a guide for my article. I noticed that other articles seemed to use this layout. Thanks so much for the help, mate. ST MADG*85 (talk) 18:23, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
::No worries. Keep in mind that "A.C." stands for "Associazione Calcio". For Matese, they have "F.C.", so "Football Club". Speedy deletion nomination of Reserve team football in Monaco
Hello, ST MADG*85,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username DandelionAndBurdock, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged Reserve team football in Monaco ↗ for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain ''any'' encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles ↗ to be extremely informative. Also, you may want to consider working on future articles in draft space ↗ first, where they cannot be deleted for lacking content.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can <span class="plainlinks">'''team football in Monaco}}&action=edit§ion=new&preload=Template:Hangon_preload&preloadtitle=This+page+should+not+be+speedy+deleted+because...+ contest this deletion ↗'''</span> but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Reserve+team+football+in+Monaco&subtype=delete|deleting administrator}}.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with <code><nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>DandelionAndBurdock<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>. And, don't forget to sign your reply with <code><nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></code> . Thanks!

Commas in leads
Hi ST MADG*85. Could you explain why you are adding commas in leads like here ↗? I don't see the benefit. In fact, it seems plain wrong. Robby.is.on (talk) 18:38, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
:My thinking was that, visually, without the comma, the sentence would appear to read as, Guðmundsson plays for "''Genoa ↗'' and the ''Iceland national team ↗''" (implying that Genoa and Iceland are a sole entity, when in fact they are two separate entities). ST MADG*85 (talk) 10:36, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
::Ah, interesting. Grammar considerations aside, I think the links for Genoa and Iceland, separated by "and", make it clear that they are distinct. Robby.is.on (talk) 10:42, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
:::Now that you mention it, I'm inclined to agree. Anyway, apologies, mate. ST MADG*85 (talk) 10:54, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
::::Cool! No problem. I'm constantly learning here, too. :-) Happy editing, Robby.is.on (talk) 11:09, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
Were you also the IP?
An IP user was removing the nationalities of leagues on Alex Amorim ↗, and used the exact same faulty claim of WP:OVERLINK ↗. Just a few points:
# There is nothing wrong with using an IP when you can't be bothered to log in, so do I. However, using IPs to edit the same page with the exact same edits is WP:LOUTSOCK ↗.
# As I asked the IP, what the hell is wrong with putting "Italian Serie A", especially as Amorim is from Brazil, a country with its own Serie A!
# Your user page mentions the nationality of several leagues. Just saying.
Unknown Temptation (talk) 21:24, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
:What exactly are you on about? To the best of my knowledge, I was logged in to my account. Firstly, Italy's elite division isn't officially recognised as the "Italian Serie A"; it is known simply as the "Serie A" or just "Serie A". Secondly, Italy's top-flight existed before Brazil's Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. ST MADG*85 (talk) 10:16, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
"WP:OVERLINK"
Hi ST MADG*85. What you removed at https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lion_Lauberbach&diff=prev&oldid=1359854893 ↗ was not a link so WP:OVERLINK ↗ does not apply. Please find a more suitable way to describe this kind of change. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 20:22, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
"is" or "are"
Here ↗ is one of the discussions about the grammar, and here ↗ is an academic article about it. The distinction is certainly not American v British English, there is real variation even within the U.K. What does seem to be true is that, whatever your chosen option, the alternative really grates to the ears. <span style="color:gray;font-family:monospace, monospace;">U003F</span>? 08:05, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
:Hi, User:U003F, it's all very well saying that, but what about the thousands of articles using "is" in their introduction/lead section? I noticed you reverted my edits to the Tranmere Rovers ↗ and Kidderminster Harriers ↗ articles.
:Unless you are planning on making universal changes to association football ↗ club articles across the whole of the English-language Wiki ↗, I don't understand why you felt the need to revert my otherwise constructive edits. ST MADG*85 (talk) 09:52, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
::But you could equally say "what about the thousands of articles using "are" in their introduction/lead section", such as Tranmere and Kidderminster? The current consensus seems to be (for UK articles) to maintain the status quo, and not to change certain examples because you don't like them. The Tranmere article, for example, was at GA status ↗ with "are" rather than "is". Whilst your edits were constructive, I would not describe them as "otherwise constructive" as all you did was change "are" to "is", so there was no "otherwise", hence my revert. <span style="color:gray;font-family:monospace, monospace;">U003F</span>? 10:24, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
:::I wasn't changing "are" to "is" because I didn't like it; I changed it to match the other articles for Premier League ↗, EFL Championship ↗, EFL League One ↗, EFL League Two ↗ and the majority of National League ↗ clubs. ST MADG*85 (talk) 10:45, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
