Source for Women's World Cup Statistics Data
You were asking for a source on this data, but there is literally no source available at the moment. All the data was compiled by me, and is stored on my PC, I've sent it over to a women's rugby data website who will put it up at some stage, and can link it to there when appropriate.
What would you recommend in the meantime? HitchikersPie (talk) 09:35, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
:Hi, I assume you are talking about Records and statistics of the Women's Rugby World Cup ↗. As you said you compiled the data yourself I recommend you read Wikipedia:No original research ↗. Can I also ask the name of the {{tq|women's rugby data website}} you mention? It will need to meet the Wikipedia:Reliable sources ↗ guidelines. I would assume it will as I can't think of a reason that means it wont.
:Information on the topic is very sparse, especially since the scrumqueens website shut down. If you can find any refereces separate to your research and the website that would be great. Regarding the Added {{More citations needed ↗}} tag, this is mainly there so that any other editors can improve the page.
:In the meantime I would advice asking at the Teahouse ↗ they are far more experienced than me and will probably explain it better. You should start with the message you posted on my talk page (this page). I suspect they will recomend the page is moved to a draft ↗ until the source on the website you mentioned is published. You can also create a topic on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Rugby union ↗ to see if any other users interest in rugby union can provide any sources they may be aware of.
:Sorry I could be of no more help. Louis (talk) (contribs ↗) 22:00, 15 May 2025 (UTC)

::This is the one, they have the info up for some of the World Cups individual scoring, but not all (so far).
::I've got sources for all the data from variously world.rugby/game archive, ESPN, and an internet archived dutch website. So it's a matter of just glueing everything together and then totting up the sums, which is laborious, but hardly novel. HitchikersPie (talk) 23:05, 22 May 2025 (UTC)

Ellie Kildunne
I don’t understand why you consider that listing her international tries would be cruft, and wonder if you could elucidate?
For male rugby players it’s the norm to include a table of their international tries in their Wikipedia article but to date articles on their female counterparts have not done likewise, and this seems an inequality which can easily be rectified.
In the case of Brian Driscoll, who has scored an equivalent number of tries as Ellie Kildunne, a separate page has been created to list his tries as his article is already quite long: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_international_rugby_union_tries_by_Brian_O%27Driscoll and the same could be done for Kildunne, either now or in the future.
Thoughts on this?
MrArmstrong2 (talk) 17:37, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
:It was discussed on the rugby union wiki project talk page that we should avoid listing tries out individually as would be incredibly tedious. You can see more here ↗. You are probably best discussing it in a new topic there Louis (talk) (contribs ↗) 19:51, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
::Thanks for your reply and your link to the wiki project talk page, in which I will post my thoughts.
::When you say: ''‘listing tries out individually as would be incredibly tedious’'' do you mean tedious to research and edit within the article, or tedious to read? To me those two are quite different.
::Given that the list of Ellie Kildunne’s tries will be quite lengthy, I would propose listing them in a separate page, as has been done with Brian Driscoll and a number of other players.
::MrArmstrong2 (talk) 14:56, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
:::I am pretty neutral on the topic of tries scored being listed, but i can see how others view it being as over the top. When I say tedious I mean it could be tedious to keep an accurate up to date record with adequite citations for each try scored.
:::I believe the reason why Brian O'Driscoll has his own page for tries is because he is (or was, i'm not 100% sure) the record Irish try scorer. The record for the red roses is 62, held by Sue Day and as of 4 September 2025 Ellie had 42 tries for England.
:::If you have a good source for each of the tries she has scored in my view that will be enough for a page to be created. Louis (talk) (contribs ↗) 23:24, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
Need help
Hello,
I would like to inquire about the process for removing a company’s Wikipedia page. On behalf of the company’s representatives who do not wish for the page to remain, I am seeking guidance on the necessary steps to have the page removed.
If any verification or additional information is required, we are prepared to provide the necessary documentation.
I would appreciate any assistance you can offer.
Thank you Orbykut (talk) 13:26, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
:There's nothing negative about the company in the Wikipedia article. But the company doesn't want to be on Wikipedia. Is there anything that can be done about this? Orbykut (talk) 13:36, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
::No, i don't think so. but what is the page? Louis (talk) (contribs ↗) 13:36, 21 November 2025 (UTC)

:::It is not the company's decision to remove the page from wikipedia. Articles don't get removed because they don't want to be on here. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia. If the company or persons information is in the public domain and it is considered to be notable enough for an article through notability guidelines then that's all that matters. Sorry. Hong Kong Rugby Team
I've noticed that you have reverted my change to the name of the Hong Kong National Rugby Team in the page 27s_Rugby_World_Cup ↗ and 2027 Men's Rugby World Cup Pool A ↗. I would like to inform you that there are British media outlet who never use such term to address the Hong Kong Rugby Team example: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2026/feb/02/australia-to-face-debutants-hong-kong-in-opening-match-of-2027-rugby-world-cup ↗. Hence it is completely acceptable to address Hong Kong as Hong Kong, in the same way that you would just address Scotland as Scotland and not 'Scotland UK'. Round-by-round progression
Not sure why you bear such antagonism towards me over not responding to a talk page message. The fact is, my editing has decreased massively over the last couple of years and I just didn't see it. I edit spontaneously to modify articles based on the manual of style (either written or unwritten) of the encyclopaedia as a whole. My primary focus is on football articles, and WP:FOOTY ↗ generally deprecates round-by-round progress tables due to the fact that matches are often postponed to take place at times other than the weekend when the rest of the "round" does, which makes it difficult to actually create such a progress table. The same can very much apply to rugby, and seeing as the 2025-26 Premiership Rugby Women's article was pretty much the only rugby season article to contain such a table, I removed it. I still maintain that it should be removed for consistency with every other article. I'd love to hear your reasoning for why it should be included. – PeeJay 22:31, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
:No antagonism here, I just think the points are worth raising.
:On the table — {{tq|every other article doesn't have it}} isn't a strong rationale on its own. WP:OTHER ↗ addresses this directly. You mention {{tq|was pretty much the only rugby season article to contain such a table}} which isn't necessarily true, it's included from 2022–23 Premiership Rugby ↗ to now as an example. If those other articles are simply missing useful, accurate content, that's not a reason to remove it here too. The table is accurate and useful to readers, which is what should matter. On WP:FOOTY ↗, you've said yourself that your primary focus is football. Applying football conventions to other articles because it feels analogous isn't really a sound basis for editing articles. WP:FOOTY guidance isn't rugby policy, and it shouldn't be treated as such.
:On the {{tq|unwritten manual of style}} point. An unwritten standard is essentially just a personal view about how things should look. That's fine as an opinion, but it's not a policy basis for removing content, and it's not something other editors are obliged to defer to. On the spontaneous editing, for minor tweaks that's fine, but removing significant content without raising it on the talk page first isn't great. Other editors should have a chance to weigh in before content disappears, not after. And a good consensus should be reached before removal. Louis (talk) (contribs ↗) 22:46, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
::An unwritten manual of style may be a personal view, but it's based on consistencies between articles. It may be a weak basis for removing content, but it is at least a basis even if you don't agree with it. Again, happy to discuss if anyone disagrees with any of my edits. And sure, there's one other article that includes a progress table, but I hadn't seen that one. When it comes to rugby, my focus is on the Scarlets and the competitions they play in. The URC season articles don't include such tables. I'm still waiting to hear a good reason why any article should. – PeeJay 23:01, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
