Curious
Hey there. Just curious what site's info you're using to stay on top of the trade deadline updates right now. The team lists and updating after the deadline
I noticed that you removed the colour of the various players who got traded at the deadline. While I understand the rational, as it currently stands the colour is for players who played at least oncein the current year. As such, even though different players were traded doesn't mean they have to lose their colour. This also leads to various problems regarding callups throughout the year. Example being in the Lightning list ↗; Marc Denis ↗ is still noted as having played during the season though he was removed quite a while ago, however Brad Richards ↗ is not after being traded.
Essentialy, I'm trying to say that I'm going to revert the removal of colour, but welcome the oppourtunity to discuss this if you feel it necessary. Kaiser matias (talk) 23:25, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
:I pretty much agree with what your saying. I'm only for colouring players who appeared in the season as a means of convenience. I've been recently getting some of the lists up to FL status, and have already come across issues about how often they get altered. By leaving everyone from the season as one colour, it helps to keep the list stable, and just means less work by users like us when events like the deadline come around. Vancouver Canucks task force
Hey! I noticed you spend a bit of your time on Wikipedia editing Vancouver Canucks ↗ related articels. I have been thinking about starting a Vancouver Canucks task force under WikiProject Ice Hockey ↗ for some time now, and am now going into the stage of gathering interest, seeing if anyone would actually be interested in joining. I've made a temporary page for the task force at User:Nurmsook/Vancouver Canucks task force. Basically, I just need to get enough members before I actually launch the task force. I still have to create some templates and alter a few that already exist once I get enough members, so hopefully you will be interested! If you would like to help out, please add your name to the list at User:Nurmsook/Vancouver Canucks task force#Participants. Thanks! – Nurmsook! (talk) 00:11, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
:I have gone ahead and launched the task force. It can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Vancouver Canucks task force ↗. If you'd like to add a userbox to your userpage, feel free to add {{User WikiProject Ice Hockey/Vancouver Canucks ↗}}. Basically, for the first little while here, I'll be tagging all applicable pages with the task force option on the talk page. From then on, it'll just be general improvement of the Canucks related articles. Feel free to take any route you please with this task force. Hopefully we can make some great improvements to these articles! – Nurmsook! (talk) 22:43, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Element templates
Just curious, is there some sort of consensus about the chemical templates that you are applying ? You certainly seem to know what you are doing and are clearly working hard, but why exactly would readers of consulting potassium perchlorate ↗ want or seek an expedited link to potassium cyanide ↗? Looks like a nifty project, but I just am skeptical about its value. Of course I dont follow the wiki-administration-sphere very much, so maybe more august bodies have deliberated on this matter. Thanks,--Smokefoot (talk) 23:39, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
:Thanks. and thanks for taking my questions in a positive way. I just cant figure out who would want to consult either the categories or the template info, but it's a diverse world. In any case, happy editing.--Smokefoot (talk) 02:02, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Re: boron carbide
I was wondering why did you revert my edit on boron carbide and restated that BC is the 4th hardest material ? My point here is that "ultrahard fullerite" is a notion created by newsarticles and, especially, by wikipedia pages (the original articles by scientists are quite clear about this issue). As a scientist who studied it myself, I can tell that "ultrahard fullerite" is just a nanocrystalline form of diamond (or simply put, diamond. Here "nanocrystalline form" has no relation to another crystalline phase or anything like that). Fullerite itself is a very soft solid. I am certainly not going to wage an edit war over this, but my intent is to fight any such mistreatment of scientific research. Best regards. NIMSoffice (talk) 03:58, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Cerium(III) chloride
Hi,
I just noticed your edit to cerium(III) chloride ↗, indicating that the hydrate is yellow. As you can see from the picture right above, it is white/colourless! (I have a bottle at work, I'll check it again tomorrow.) I can imagine that sometimes it could be yellow, especially if Ce(IV) impurities are present - can you tell me where you got your information from? Thanks, Walkerma (talk) 08:33, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
:Thanks for your nice reply. That information sounds quite old to me - OK, gas mantles are still made, but in the last 20 years some major applications in organic chemistry such as the Luche reduction ↗ have developed, so why aren't these mentioned? I wonder if traditionally this was contaminated with a little CeOCl2 or something? I think with handbooks, they often copy over data from the previous editions, so the description could easily be 50 years old, whereas my sample was bought in 2002. Also, I've seen hydrate samples from several different suppliers (it was one of my standard starting materials for my research), and I don't ever recall seeing it anything more yellow than perhaps an off-white. I looked in some books on lanthanide chemistry I have at home, but none of the ones handy indicate any colours, and my CRC handbooks (I have editions here from 1943 and 1977) only list the anhydrous. Strem ↗ lists it as "white to pale yellow xtl." and this GFS MSDS ↗ describes it as colorless. I'll try to check this again soon, but I think the photo is pretty clear. Cheers, Walkerma (talk) 03:09, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Lead(II) sulfide solubility
The solubility product figure you added looks OK, in line with a quick google, but ca. 10−25 would indicate a much lower solubility in water than you entered i.e < 10−12 Moles /litre - I don't have reference books handy myself so do you think you could you check it. Cheers --Axiosaurus (talk) 18:31, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
::thanks for correcting it- I'm still a bit baffled by a solubility product of approx 10−28 would indicate a very low solubility of around 10−14 Moles/litre which is still a lot less than the figure your reference says. I have found one reference, Introduction to ore-forming processes,By L. J. Robb,Published by Wiley-Blackwell, 2005, {{ISBN|0632063785}} which seems to support a very low solubility ( see googlebooks http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=zN0x3n9DPt8C&pg=PA147&dq=galena+solubility&as_brr=3 ↗) - does your reference cite the conditions?- PbS is for example much more soluble in saline conditions and in H2S solution. --Axiosaurus (talk) 15:31, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

I just pray that your data is okay. In view of your high rate of editing, it would still be a good idea to contact the community at large about your goals and sources. Infoboxes
You are doing wonderful job. In particular, typing in the infoboxes data on materials is a great help. To make it better, could you please (i) provide references wherever appropriate; (ii) be careful with different polymorphs of one material (if several exist then entering information without mentioning the polymorph could be misleading). Best wishes. Materialscientist (talk) 23:53, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Arsenic pentasulfide and other comments
I have not heard about As2S5, and my guess is that this material is a polysulfide derived from As2S3 (aka orpiment ↗). I'd be interested to hear your view of this material.
I also notice that you are referencing "Pradyot Patnaik. Handbook of Inorganic Chemicals. ...." I confess to have never heard of this source nor of the author (he is not an established inorganic scholar). Maybe the book is a compilation of generic info. Is this a standard reference in your world, or where did you get it from?
Thanks, --Smokefoot (talk) 03:32, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
:Well I dont understand your interest in writing an article about As2S5 when you dont know much about the material. I recommend writing about topics where you are in your "scholarly comfort-zone." The Pradyot Patnaik book is (in my opinion) a dubious source, especially for young editors, unless you are transcribing physical constants (which you have been doing a very helpful job with). Let me can explain my wariness about Patnaik's book. Publishers routinely hire underemployed PhDs to edit or compile books on all manner of topics. Many such authors just propagate generic information - they are paid by the page and they are not very plugged in. This sounds nasty and snobbish, and I apologize for coming off like that. You will notice that most Wiki-inorganic editors cite books by Greenwood and Earshaw, Cotton and Wilkinson, Wiberg and Holleman. Greenwood, Cotton, Wilkinson, Wiberg were or are serious scholars in the field of inorganic chemistry. So my advice would be to avoid Patnaik's book for anything but numerical data.--Smokefoot (talk) 22:44, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

CaH2 and CaF2
FYI on your comments "Calcium hydride ... also can be made by heating calcium chloride ↗ with hydrogen ↗ in the presence of sodium ↗ metal:
:CaCl2 + H2 + 2Na → CaH2 + NaCl
Alternatively:
:CaO + Mg + H2 → CaH2 + MgO"
These methods are misleading. The Mg and Na reduction merely generates Ca0, which is then hydrogenated. FYI.--Smokefoot (talk) 00:37, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Preps
At least for the inorganic things, its been our practice to cite preps from Inorganic Syntheses. We even have a template for it and Organic Syn., which are handled as journal-like books. Both are on-line, although only Org Syn is free. The alternative, which I use for industrially significant cmpounds, is Ullmann's Encyclopedia, also on-line. For things that are not industrially significant, Greenwood & Earnshaw or Holleman & Wiberg describe in general terms routes to various derivatives. --Smokefoot (talk) 13:48, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

A couple tips to make your contributions even better:
- Please do not subst infoboxes.
- You can obtain correct region codes for use with the {{tl|Coord}} template from ISO 3166-1 ↗. There's no need to guess.

You are now a Reviewer
right|130px ↗
Hello. Your account has been granted the "{{mono|reviewer}}" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits ↗ on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial ↗ scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed ↗ to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles ↗, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages ↗.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism ↗ or BLP violations ↗, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process ↗). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here ↗.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. <!-- Template:Reviewer-notice --> Courcelles (talk) 17:56, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Some gastropod articles
Thanks Thricecube, for the three new gastropod stub articles you made. Thanks for your nice note. At Project Gastropods we certainly don't mind at all if you make some stubs for us, so please feel free whenever you like to make a few snail or slug stubs. Population in Ethiopian cities and towns
You have recently made several edits to Ethiopian cities and town where you have updated the population. The problem is the source for these updates is not include any where in the articles. I am sure you have a reliable source for these figures. Could you also add a sentence in the demographics like
According to ''whoever'', the estimated polulation of ''blank'' in 2012 has increased to ####.<ref>Whatever source</ref>
Be sure to include a source. Otherwise, other editors will be forced to revert your edits. Notice, as per MOS:INFOBOX ↗, infoboxes are intended to summarize the key facts in the article, much like the lede. Therefore, all info in infoboxes must also be included in the text.
Also, I am not quite sure such a trivially accurate coordinate figures are really appropriate.

Chile population figures
Hi, Thricecube. I saw that you are changing the Chile population figures. Since the old figures were also (apparently) 2012, have you discovered why your figures are different (and smaller than the old figures)? Also, the reference link for the population figures doesn't seem to be working. Jason Quinn (talk) 03:10, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Copper(III) oxide
left|link=|48px| ↗
The article Copper(III) oxide ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because of the following concern:
:'''no evidence that this compound exists. There has never been any reference or supporting data/ links to this page. Furthermore, even a very general google search for the title name fails to return any even semi-reliable supporting resources. I suspect that this compound doesn't actually exist.'''
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> The chemistds (talk) 16:02, 9 October 2014 (UTC)

MgCO_3 solubility
Hi there.
In May 2009, you added some info about the solubility of magnesium carbonate (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Magnesium_carbonate&oldid=290422144). The value you entered for the pentahydrate (0.375 g/100 mL) looks *very* wrong -- it's inconsistent with the solubility product and much higher than what I'm seeing on the net for MgCO3 solubilities. Can you dig up your source? BunsenH (talk) 01:48, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Copyright problem: Taxation in Armenia ↗
The article Taxation in Armenia ↗ has been deleted as a copy-paste of the copyrighted source Nations Encyclopedia ↗. This was brought to our attention by a complaint from an employee of the copyright holder. I see that you created the article in 2009 and that you were subsequently blocked in 2010 for repeated copyright issues. I just need to ask you if you copied any other content prior to that block, when I presume you became aware of our policies? For the protection of Wikipedia and our reusers, we need to remove any remaining copied content. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:52, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
:Hello, Thricecube. Thank you for your note on my talk page. My question is not about after your block, but rather whether "you copied any other content prior to that block." If so, this material must be removed. If you are unsure, I can take a look at your history to see if more cleanup is necessary, but I wanted to check with you in case you are aware of other issues.
:Unrelated, I also noted in your response at my talk page that your signature needs to be repaired to include a link to at least one of your user page, user talk page or contributions page. See WP:SIGLINK ↗. This can be fixed in your "Preferences" tab under "signature." --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:44, 6 May 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion ↗ of :Sectorseven (album) ↗
left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗
The article :Sectorseven (album) ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''Fails WP:NALBUM ↗'''</blockquote>
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> <span style="color: darkblue">Donald</span><span style="color: darkgreen">D23</span> <span style="color: orange">talk to me</span> 01:51, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon|link= ↗ Hello. I have noticed that you {{usertalk other|often ↗|often}} edit without using an edit summary ↗. Please do your best to '''always fill in the summary field'''. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work.
