Certification Table Entry usage hint
Hi Tobyjamesaus. Just wanted to let you know that instead of using {{tl|cite Ryan}} inside {{tl|Certification Table Entry}}, you can use {{para|source|book}} and {{para|id|page#}} to get the same effect, like I did here β. Enjoy editing! --Muhandes (talk) 07:43, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
Another shortcut you can use is for New Zealand certifications from the archived radioscope website. Simply use {{para|source|archive}} instead of overriding the source with a long citation. --Muhandes (talk) 15:25, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

''High Voltage''
You will have noticed that AC/DC discography β is a FLC. In preparation for submitting the list, with co-nominator <span style="font-family:Luckiest Guy"><span style="color:#0075be">VAUGHAN</span> <span style="color:orange">J.</span> <small>(<span style="color:#0075be">TALK</span>)</small></span>, we discussed whether ''High Voltage'' (1976) should be put into a Compilation albums table. I referred to previous discussions at AC/DC's talk page archive β. It was determined to leave the album in the discography list, which typically shows only Studio albums. Consequently it was left in the Studio albums table.''shaidar cuebiyar'' (talk) 08:28, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
:I changed it back, since the international album is classified as a studio album, not a compilation album. It does 2 tracks have the Australian version of ''High Voltage'' and the ''T.N.T.'' album. β <span style="font-family:Luckiest Guy"><span style="color:#0075be">VAUGHAN</span> <span style="color:orange">J.</span> <small>(<span style="color:#0075be">TALK</span>)</small></span> 08:46, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
:Hi Shaidar cuebiyar, I didn't realise this had already been discussed so intensely (a decade ago). It seems like it got quite personal too... not good. I really appreciate you linking me to that chat. thanks. For the record, I believe it's a compilation album (for the reasons I put in the talk on the AC/DC talk page archive). Maybe the topic will be revisited at some stage. who knows. Thanks Tobyjamesaus (talk) 06:10, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
I'm on Fire ARIA certification
Hi Tobyjamesaus. You added a 5Γ Platinum certification for "I'm on Fire β" in this edit β. I am looking at the source, and I see a 5Γ Platinum certification, but it is supposedly for "Fire β", not for "I'm on Fire". Did you have reason to believe ARIA staff made a clerical error or was this just a mistake? In Bruce Springsteen discography β both songs have this certification, which is obviously wrong. Note that if we are unsure, ARIA staff are usually quite responsive and we can ask them. --Muhandes (talk) 10:19, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
:Hey Muhandes, thanks for this, I assumed it was "I'm on Fire" based on the higher chart position and legacy of that song, but I agree, it's unlikely it's both. Perhaps clarifying from ARIA is the best way to go? Are you happy to do that? Tobyjamesaus (talk) 10:25, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
::Alright, I "fired" an email their way (ha ha). I'll let you know if ARIA answers. For the time being, I hope you don't mind if I stick to the sources and assume this is for "Fire", as written. Muhandes (talk) 13:43, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
::::) totally understandable. Thanks for letting me know - and let me know how you go :)
:::Tobyjamesaus (talk) 13:44, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
::::Hi there. Just to let you know, ARIA returned to me after they re-checked it, and the certification is for "Fire". They even sent me a screenshot of the form filled by the label (Sony Music), showing the catalogue number and title. Happy editing! Muhandes (talk) 06:35, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
:::::Amazing Muhandes. Thank you SO MUCH for following that up and getting back to me. Really appreciate it. Re certifications - how good would it be if ARIA did a portal or something like BPI, where you can search for a title or artist ?!. Anywho, thanks again Tobyjamesaus (talk) 09:56, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
ARIA peaks
Hi,
thanks for adding ARIA peaks. Regarding Celine Dion, her Imgur.com link includes only albums. Do you have a link for Dion's singles too? I would love to see it :) Max24 (talk) 12:54, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
Hi Max24, I do have all the singles as well. Most of them up to top 200 are on wiki already, but there are some lower ones as well. it's not on imgur (yet). Is there an email address or something I can it to instead?
: I got it! Thank you so much! :) Max24 (talk) 13:21, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
Clear templates
Toby, please stop adding clear templates on discographies. You even restored it β here, which is against WP:BRD β after you added it the first time and I removed it β. It adds a huge ugly white space at the top of articles for ''only'' desktop viewers. It has no application to mobile readers, which makes up over three-quarters of Wikipedia's readership, because infoboxes do not show on mobile, and quite obviously portrait mode on mobile doesn't allow tables to display side by side due to limited space. The studio album wikitable is also not even that wide on my desktop display that the infobox even interferes with it anyway. Regardless, as I said, BRD applies. Get consensus on the talk page to use it. It's already been removed. Thank you. <b><span style="color: #FF6347;">Ss</span><small><span style="color: #1E90FF;">112</span></small></b> 14:28, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
ARIA certs
Hi Tobyjamesaus. Regarding the ARIA certifications, could you please avoid doing this β? Isn't it simpler to update the template and use the template itself β? All you need to do is let me know and I'll update the URLs. Muhandes (talk) 07:32, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
:Hi Muhandes, thanks for you message. I 100% agree that (only) changing the certification year is way easier/quicker/nicer etc... but I have done it in the past and it hasn't gone to the correct file (eg it goes back to the home page of the ARIA accreditation's page), hence why I put in the individual dropbox page. I'm very happy to be corrected. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">β Preceding unsigned β comment added by Tobyjamesaus (talk β’ contribs β) 06:03, 17 October 2024 (UTC)</small>

Combining citations
Hi Toby. When you add extra Australian peaks or sources for these like here β, please combine the citations. On some articles I've noticed you have just pasted the citations next to each other, in some cases with four citations each next to the other, which artificially stretch columns out. Please try combining the sources/text in the pre-existing chart citations with an introduction as to what the new information pertains to/displays, as I've just done on The Mavis's β here β. Thanks. <b><span style="color: #FF6347;">Ss</span><small><span style="color: #1E90FF;">112</span></small></b> 14:11, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Categories
Hi, in articles like Backflips in a Restaurant β, when an article has been placed in a category such as :Category:2025 debut albums β, there is no need to also put it in :Category:2025 albums β or :Category:Debut albums β since they are parent categories to the first. You did that here β and have noticed you've done that in other articles in the past as well. Removing lists of singles
Hi Tobyjamesaus. I understand removing unsourced content, but here β, removing a list of singles an artist has released with the reasoning that it is somehow "not notable" is something I disagree with you doing. Singles don't have to be "notable" to be listed on Wikipedia; they are an intangible part of an artist's discography. WP:Notability β really only applies to whether those releases should have their own articles or not. I don't know how many articles you have done this onβI have noticed it on several Australian artists' articles that you may edit more than other editorsβbut you should really only remove this type of content if it's unsourced. Singles don't have to meet the threshold of "notability" to merit a mere mention in writing on an article. Skyversay (talk) 14:59, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- * Hey Skyversay, thanks for the message. I understand and agree with what you're saying re (not) removing not-notable singles, in other words, I agree, listing singles IS notable - if referenced. So we're good there. I am personally in the favour of having a complete list also. The reason I remove lists of singles (or songs) sometimes, is because they're usually ''not'' references and/or in some cases, the list is incredibly out of date. Plus there's often the debate as to what's a "single" (another argument). As you've seen, I do update wiki as much as I can, but it's impossible to be over it all and if I see something that is so unreferenced/out of date, I think it's better (cleaner) to take them out. That's my opinion and why I do it. Does that make sense?Tobyjamesaus (talk) 06:44, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
My Loving β moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to My Loving β. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because '''it needs more sources to establish notability''' and '''please read WP:NSONG β, you need multiple independent sources, so the playlist site is not valid.'''.
I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page β.
When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Boynamedsue (talk) 07:43, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
Hard To Say I'm Sorry, Az Yet version, in the "Featured Singles" table on the Peter Cetera wikipedia page
The AZ Yet version of Hard To Say I'm Sorry, featuring Peter Cetera, is not listed in the Featured Singles table at all on the Peter Cetera β wikipedia page since you removed it. Would you please undo your deletion? Curious405 (talk) 21:36, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Curious405, it's still there- I haven't undone it - Look at singles. It's there. I removed it to remove the double up. Tobyjamesaus (talk) 04:28, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- :Yes, I finally see that it is included in the "Singles" table, which I did not notice before. However, IMO, it is better placed in the "Featured Singles" table because Cetera is not the main artist on that single, Az Yet is. Would you consider replacing it in the "Featured Singles" table and removing it from the "Singles" table? I would do it, but I'm not quite clear on all of the data that has gone into creating the "Singles" table and what other repercussions might result by removing that song from that table. Curious405 (talk) 01:25, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Curious405, I agree, it's better as featured. I have done as per your suggestion.Tobyjamesaus (talk) 02:46, 1 April 2026 (UTC)

End of an Era - Niall Horan
Hi, my subject got deleted without a reply or consensus, so Iβm trying this again. You put Niall Horanβs latest single into the regular single section of his discography page, when itβs actually a promotional single, and thus it was in the promotional singles section, before you moved it. Before I even make any edits, please prove that it is a regular single first, and not a promotional single. Otherwise, I will put it back. ::Hi {{ping|Tobyjamesaus}} I reverted the Giddy Up (EP) β article back to the redirect. The article is non-notable. Your using machine-generated directory listing to prove the articles subject is notable. It needs real references which are absent. Reviews are the standard, 2 or 3 good reviews would do it, which are absent. If you edit war on it, it will be straight up to the edit-warring noticeboard. :: Hi <span style="color:#3399ff">scope_creep</span>, thanks for you message. All my edits (over a decade now) are and have always been with good intent. My edits on A&tS was purely to tidy it up and to "complete" the discography. The main article had several broken links etc (still does) and many bandcamp references, which I didn't add BTW. I ''did'' add the one to the missing EPs from the discography, with the thought process, "something is better than nothing". I was purely improving the article. Same goes for creating the 2 EPs which have now charted in Aus and Scotland (and some UK charts). But point taken that other than that, they struggle with notability. I also noted you removed ARIA certification reference saying it's not reliable, suffice to say, we can both make errors. I have no interest in fighting or going to war, :) peaceTobyjamesaus (talk) 04:38, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
