Additions to German Wikipedia

Hi Tymewalk, I'm working on publishing Bottega Veneta ↗ from English to German. I am wondering if you have time to help me out. I found your username on Wikiproject:Germany and saw that you're fluent in both English and German. I have a paid COI regarding Bottega Veneta, but my main concern here is ensuring that the information available in English is available and up to date in German as well. I have a translated version of the article on my colleague’s Sandbox ↗. Would you mind reviewing it for accuracy as well as its compliance with Wikipedia guidelines? Thanks!--Chefmikesf (talk) 23:59, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
:Hi Chefmikesf. I appreciate the offer, but I'm certainly not fluent in German, and wouldn't be able to help with what you're looking for. Good luck with your project, though! Tymewalk (talk) 00:31, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

:Bering Standard Time ↗ was blanked and redirected ↗ to :UTC−11:00 ↗

The page {{-r|Bering Standard Time}} has been blanked and redirected to :UTC−11:00 ↗ after its proposed deletion was declined by reasoning of redirects as an alternative to deletion ↗. As you nominated the article to be deleted via WP:PROD ↗, you may wish to restore the page contents and nominate it for a full deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion ↗. <!-- Template:Prod blarred --> <b style="color: #ea5a5a;">Tartar</b><b>Torte</b> 21:31, 11 October 2022 (UTC)

:Thanks for looking into the page, I didn't see that NYT article while trying to find out if the timezone was ever used. Tymewalk (talk) 13:06, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
::No worries. Finding that NYT article was dumb luck on my end. I was trying to find a citation for when Alaska changed its time zones from 4 to 2 after reading about that elsewhere, but not at a source of whose reliability I was assured, which led me to that article. I wasn't able to find the article while searching for the term "Bering Standard Time" itself on google, only through that weird path I took above. <b style="color: #ea5a5a;">Tartar</b><b>Torte</b> 13:20, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
:::I did some digging and it looks like the timezone has also been called "Bering Sea Time", which appears in the NYT article. There's not many web results for either name of the timezone (and I think a lot of "Bering Standard Time" pages copied Wikipedia), but old newspapers seem to refer to both "Bering Sea Time" as well as "Bering Standard Time". I haven't been able to find any definitive sources as to which one is correct or preferred, but both seem to have been in use to refer to UTC-11 at some point. Tymewalk (talk) 03:52, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
::::I noticed that as well. I've just created {{-r|Bering Sea Time}} and targeted it to UTC−11:00 ↗ as well with an {{tlp|R avoided double redirect|Bering Standard Time}} to show the link between the two. <b style="color: #ea5a5a;">Tartar</b><b>Torte</b> 12:24, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

:Hi {{Re|Mariamnei}}, thanks for reviewing my articles. I'm replying to both the articles for Yemen ↗ and Zimbabwe ↗ here, as IMHO notability is the same for both.
:These are articles for a particular nation's performance at a sporting event, in this case the 2020 Summer Paralympics ↗. While Yemen and Zimbabwe did not win any medals at these Games, other such articles exist even when nations do not win a medal - for example Zimbabwe at the 2024 Summer Paralympics ↗ and Liberia at the 2020 Summer Paralympics ↗. I believe my articles are notable for the same reason that these are (or, in a more general case, any similar article for a country at a sporting event like the Olympics). This also seems to line up with the guidelines at WP:NOLYMPICS ↗, which say {{tq|Significant coverage is likely to exist for nations participating at an individual Summer or Winter Olympic or Paralympic Games}}. Tymewalk (talk) 19:20, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
::Thank you for your response. I am not an expert in sports, but regarding your first point, please see WP:OTHER ↗. Regarding WP:NOLYMPICS ↗, it says that significant coverage is ''likely'' to exist; you should still establish the notability. If there's something in policy that I've missed, please feel free to write to me. Thanks and have a great day! Mariamnei (talk) 05:22, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Before adding a category to an eponymous ↗ category, as you did at :Category:UpShot League ↗, please make sure that the category is appropriate under Wikipedia's categorization guidelines ↗ and is consistent with WP:EPONYMOUS ↗.

An eponymous category is a category named after a subject that contains pages associated with that subject. For example, an eponymous category about a person, place, organization, or work may contain articles about related people, events, works, history, or other topics connected with that subject, not just the main article itself.

Because of that, adding a category to an eponymous category means that the added category should make sense for the contents of the eponymous category as a whole, not just for the subject it is named after. In general, the added category should apply to all or nearly all of the pages in the eponymous category.

For example, a category such as establishments in YEAR may apply to the subject itself, but usually will not apply to every page in the eponymous category, so it is usually not appropriate to add it there. Please also make sure that any category you add already exists. Categories that do not meet these requirements may be removed. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-badeponcat --> SMasonGarrison 14:11, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

About your contribution in 'Regions of Peru'...

Thank you so much for adding back the flag of Ica! The previous user who upload it got all their files deleted because most of their contributions were only hoaxes. I tried back in time to get back the flag of Ica long ago, but they ignored my request. It is is great to see it back! Kind regards.TankFighter88 (talk) 17:16, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

:No problem! Glad I could help :) Tymewalk (talk) 21:14, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
