Hi Whouk. I see that you recently deleted Bendigo and District Cricket Association ↗ as an expired PROD. I think there's a good chance it's notable and think it should at least go through AfD, so am requesting undeletion of the article. Sorry I didn't catch this before you deleted it. 2359 Media
Hey Whouk,
Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Regarding the article on 2359 Media that has been deleted, I know it is because I was not able to provide any references to provide credibility for the article. I was trying to provide the references but I still do not know how to do it.
But recently, I just found help to do so. I'm hoping that you can restore my article and let me add in the references.
Thanks a lot and sorry again!

Hi Will -
You recently deleted a page on me (Benjamin Parzybok) - stating the page did not meet the qualifications of WP:Author (lacking multiple independent substantive sources).
Though I did not create/edit the page, I thought I'd make an undeletion request, by mentioning the following sources.

Ron Laura
I was sent a email that said that you were the person who deleted the detailed information about Dr. Ron Laura, professor at University of Newcastle, Australia. The information posted was from Dr. Laura himself. It was posted by me, Dr. Fred Berman DC, who moderates his forums, Facebook and YouTube sites. I am also working with Dr. Laura on a new book. I am not a expert on the inner workings of Wikipedia so I am a bit confused why the material was deleted. It was a accurate portrait of Dr. Laura. He is a top selling author, world lecturer, and professor. Please reconsider the removal of his biography or at least explain to this Wiki novice how to reintroduce it.
Thank you,

Peter Dizozza deletion
First of all, I don't have a copy of my wikipedia page and now it, and all its annotations, are completely gone.. Can I at least have a copy of what was there?... I believe it is notable. I am an active composer with a long history contributing to experimental musical theater here in New York with La Mama and Theater for the New City. I am Theater Director for the Williamsburg Art and Historical Center... I think that was why I was put into Wikipedia some 8 years ago. I just wrote a new score for a production by Toby Armour and directed by George Ferencz Celebrating 25 years of Theater for the New City at its current location: "155 First Avenue." I am re-appointed Chair of the Entertainment Committee of the New York City Bar Association. I am a council member for the Lambs... Look at the shows I wrote. And I'm working on a new script and score called "The Ocean Floaters." Please communicate with me. Consider restoring the page. Thank you. :Hi Peter. I can userfy ↗ the article for you, but for that - and ideally to communicate on here - it would help if you registered an account (or could confirm that your IP address is unchanging). As per the WP:PROD ↗ policy, any user can request the undeletion of a page so deleted - even in a case such as this where there's a clear conflict of interest, since you're the subject of the article - and I've therefore taken your message as such a request and restored the page. You should be aware, though, that the article may well end up being referred to the full articles for deletion ↗ process and possibly then deleted again. Whouk <small>(talk)</small> 11:57, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
peter dizozza achieving something notable...
Thank you, Whouk... I'll do my best to keep my artistic endeavors rising up to a level where they might be perceived as Notable... And yes, given that I constantly refer to and rely upon wikipedia pages I will create an account, and do my best to be a helpful contributor as well...
There were also wikipedia references to my musical productions "The Last Dodo," "The Eleventh Hour" and "Prepare to Meet Your Maker" that were deleted... Are those projects notable? Can I say? Yes, a person other than me should determine that, though I think that if anyone gives them consideration they'll enjoy the process and find some benefit in having done so...
I remain at your service...

Speedy removal at User:RevMegatherion
Hi. May I ask for your rationale in removing the speedy at User:RevMegatherion? From WP:CSD ↗: "''These apply to all namespaces (and so apply to articles, redirects, user pages, talk pages, files, etc.)''". The user is spamming himself and his organization. A lot of OR ↗ added to boot. I did not speedy delete outright to give the user a chance to respond and other admins to take a look and make a decision. I do not understand yours. Thanks for any info. -- Alexf<i>(talk)</i> 12:45, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
deletion of Abd (Arabic)
Hi. I'm a bit unhappy about your recent deletion of Abd (Arabic) ↗. Unfortunately I missed the PROD, otherwise I would have intervened earlier. The reason given for deletion was "Wikipedia is not a dictionary and no evidence that such a word exists in the Arabic language." Well, there is not the slightest doubt that the word exists in the Arabic language and I could easily provide a wealth of sources for that. It is true that Wikipedia is not a dictionary, but Abd is significant as an element in a large number of personal names, as could be seen from the inward links to the article (over 60 of them). I can't remember exactly what was in the article (as it isn't there any more), but if some improvement is need I'm willing to provide it. SamuelTheGhost (talk) 10:46, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
:Thank you for restoring the article. I notice that the insertion of the PROD, here ↗, didn't have any edit summary, so people who had it on their watch-list (as I did) could easily miss it. Wikipedia:Proposed deletion ↗ says "Make sure to provide an edit summary that clearly indicates that the article has been proposed for deletion." Perhaps you would agree that the "Procedure for administrators" on that page should also say that a PROD should not be actioned unless properly flagged up in the edit summary? SamuelTheGhost (talk) 17:20, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
::Thanks for your reply. I totally agree with what you suggest. Perhap the instructions in Wikipedia:Proposed deletion ↗ could be modified to that effect? SamuelTheGhost (talk) 21:04, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

:Thanks for your quick reply. Yes we did. Perhaps it's better to change it to Q-Bah instead of MC Q-Bah (as Google will give out more results, and the Dutch wikipage has Q-Bah in it aswel, not MC Q-Bah). Everything else that was asked for is available and was linked in the wikiarticle: music releases, interviews and links to articles. Also, there are Q-Bah links available on Wiki EN (see articles Xzibit, Fredwreck, Low:http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=q-bah&title=Special%3ASearch ). So the article is not an orphan. Could you re-install the page and see what is really missing? Hi there,
As the producer of WP Symposium I would like ask for its re-statement.
It was remiss of me not to add 3rd party references of which there are many and I will gladly do so.
Users of WP Symposium have raised its removal as many fou d the page useful in initially understanding what the purpose of the open source WordPress plugin is (similar to BuddyPress which also has a Wikipedia page).
Could we please discuss so I can understand how I can help?

Balboa Creole French ↗ page
Hello! I was wondering if you (or someone) was going to list Balboa Creole French ↗ on the List of hoaxes on Wikipedia ↗ page? I'm the guy who flagged it as a hoax, so I was hoping it would get put up there as a point of Novice Wikipedia Editor Pride. (I would do it myself, but I since I'm not an admin & since the page was deleted I have no way of figuring out how long the page was up.) If there's a reason why it isn't going to be put up there, that's cool - I was just curious since I'm not privy to these high-level discussions. Thanks, & have a good one! Deletion of Nathalie Archangel
Hi Will,
Being deleted as "non notable" is a true blow to my fragile ego... The information in the Wiki entry was indeed factually correct and the Double Platinum record I possess might beg re-consideration of the "non notable" status. Ouch

Dominika Wolski page
Hi, I'm Dominika Wolski; there had been a page created about me.. not sure why it was taken down. I have had news articles and sufficient publicity (including a blog on Huffington Post) to warrant a page??? If you require it to be resubmitted, happy to do so. Some of the original details were wrong but we had tried to edit it with my publicist. <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned ↗ comment added by 173.60.57.47 ↗ (talk) 09:35, 22 October 2012 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Fiat Totem
Hi,
I would like to re instate the page on the Fiat Totem which you deleted in 2012. I will simply use the Italian page on the Fiat Totem and google translate it initially. I will then gradually correct the English hopefully with other wikipedians help. the old translation which I used originally would have been more or less comprehensible to people who knew about cogeneration. There are no copywright issues as far as I can see.

About Springfield, Tasmania ↗
Hi Whouk!<br />
- 12:09, 16 August 2012 Whouk (talk | contribs) deleted page Springfield, Tasmania (Expired PROD, concern was: not a suburb, not an official locality, a few streets in Moonah with a local name. No real content so our readership will not be deprived.)
Springfield was historically an actual suburb. When I worked in pizzeria in Moonah, I delivered a lot of pizzas there. ↗ {{smiley}}<br />

As one of the previous contributors to {{Tl|Infobox film}} or as one of the commenters on it's talk page, I would like to inform you that there has been a RfC ↗ started on the talk page as to implementation of previously deprecated parameters ↗. Your comments and thoughts on the matter would be welcomed. Happy editing!

Proposed deletion ↗ of The Black Knights (band) ↗
left|link=|48px| ↗
The article The Black Knights (band) ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> Catlemur (talk) 12:34, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
25px|alt=Information icon ↗
Following a community discussion ↗ in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year ↗ (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in more than one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard ↗ and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process ↗ (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, and that you have not been inactive for a three-year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three-year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA ↗. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. <!-- Template:Inactive admin -->MadmanBot (talk) 00:30, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
MfD nomination of :User:TheInno/Gabriel Grey ↗
30px ↗ :User:TheInno/Gabriel Grey ↗, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion ↗. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:TheInno/Gabriel Grey ↗ and please be sure to sign your comments ↗ with four tildes (<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>). You are free to edit the content of :User:TheInno/Gabriel Grey ↗ during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you.<!-- Template:MFDWarning --> Ricky81682 (talk) 09:07, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
Extended confirmed protection
{{ivmbox|1=Hello, Whouk. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection ↗ (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right ↗ was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion ↗ with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment ↗ established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
- '''Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective'''. It should not be used as a first resort.
- '''A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard ↗ of each use'''. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins
Hello,
Please note that TOTP ↗ based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page ↗ in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page ↗ for additional information. '''Important''': Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard ↗. A new user right for New Page Patrollers
Hi {{BASEPAGENAME}}.
A new user group, '''New Page Reviewer''' ↗, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM ↗. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here ↗ but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR ↗. <small>''(Sent to all admins)''</small>.MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:48, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016 ↗: Voting now open!
{{Ivmbox|Hello, Whouk. Voting in the '''2016 Arbitration Committee elections ↗''' is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard ↗ and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process ↗ (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, that you have not been inactive for a three-year period of time, and that you have not been inactive from administrative tasks for a five year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three-year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA ↗. Further, following a community discussion in March of 2018 ↗, administrators suspended for inactivity who have not had any logged administrative activity for five years will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA ↗. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. <!-- Template:Inactive admin -->— JJMC89 '''bot''' 00:09, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

; What prompted you to send this message?
: Recently, several Wikipedia admin accounts were compromised. The admin accounts were desysopped on an emergency basis ↗. In the past, the Committee often resysopped admin accounts as a matter of course once the admin was back in control of their account. The committee has updated its guidelines. Admins may now be required to undergo a fresh Request for Adminship (RfA) ↗ after losing control of their account.

Administrator account security (Correction to Arbcom 2019 special circular)
ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.
Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required ↗ to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices ↗." We have updated ↗ our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication ↗ remains an ''optional'' means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.
We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.
For the Arbitration Committee, -Cameron11598 21:04, 4 May 2019 (UTC)</small>

Starting Wikipedia page aerial artist Tjaša Dobravec
Hello,
I am new on Wikipedia and I am searching somebody that could make the Wikipedia page of my partner, professional aerial artist Tjaša Dobravec.
I have already written most of the text and listed up the references, and now I am searching a Wikipedia volunteer that could check and publish it.
Can you or do you know somebody that could help me?
Thanks in advance and kind regards from Slovenia,

How we will see unregistered users
<section begin=content/>
Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin '''will still be able to access the IP'''. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools ↗ to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta ↗. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe ↗ to the weekly technical newsletter ↗.
We have two suggested ways ↗ this identity could work. '''We would appreciate your feedback''' on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page ↗. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you.

Pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
25px|alt=Information icon ↗
Established policy ↗ provides for the removal of the administrative permissions of users who have made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period. Your administrative permissions will be removed if you do not return to the required activity level before the beginning of January 2023.
Inactive administrators are encouraged to engage with the project in earnest rather than to make token edits to avoid loss of administrative permissions. Resources and support for re-engaging with the project are available at Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/administrators ↗. If you do not intend to re-engage with the project in the foreseeable future, please consider voluntarily resigning your administrative permissions by making a request at the bureaucrats' noticeboard ↗.

Bubbling Under Entry
Hello. I wanted to let you know that Jessica Simpson's "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)" peaked at #21 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 :) I fixed your edit and added the source, which is Billboard (the publisher of the chart itself) https://www.billboard.com/artist/jessica-simpson/chart-history/hbu/ Piratetales (talk) 22:58, 10 November 2023 (UTC)

Okay–ooh. New <s>teeth</s> newsletter. That's weird...
<big>'''Hello!'''</big>
:Welcome to the first regenerated issue of The Space-Time Telegraph, the official newsletter of WikiProject ''Doctor Who'' ↗. We hope it finds you well in your safe travels across the Whoniverse! This newsletter was founded in 2008 and seemed to get lost in the time vortex quite quickly. Thanks to the Doctor dragging Sutekh through the time vortex and bringing life by bringing death to death (''yeah... I'm a little confused too''), it seems to have regenerated. The writing staff hopes to bring you future editions quarterly.
:For this first edition, we have created an updated version of our mailing list ↗ that includes any active editors who previously had their usernames included in our participants list ↗. If you do not wish to receive future editions, please remove your name from the mailing list. If you no longer wish to participate in the project, please also remove your name from the participants list.
:I think that's enough about the newsletter for now. Let's dive into interesting things happening within the ''Doctor Who'' side of Wikipedia. Geronimooooo.....
{{columns-start|num=2}}
<big>'''Big Spike in Productivity'''</big>
:During 2024, the project has scored 8 GAs, 2 FLs and a GT, up from last year's 4 GAs and a GT. Several additional things are in the pipeline, with a bunch of things currently having been nominated with some mix of OlifanofmrTennant, TheDoctorWho, and Pokelego999 having their names attached to them. Allow me to look into the nominees.
# Series 14: As of July 18th, every single episode has been sent to GAN, with "Boom ↗", "73 Yards ↗", and "The Devil's Chord ↗" having made it to GA.
# 2023 Specials: Early in the year, as part of trying to not lose the WikiCup, Ollie sent "The Star Beast ↗" <small>(still salty about the move)</small> to GAN. It was reviewed by frequent collaborator <small>(fly high)</small> of hers, but failed. She then fixed it up and sent it back where it passed. Later "The Giggle ↗" was expanded and sent to GA, followed shortly by "Wild Blue Yonder ↗". WBY received help by JustAnotherCompanion, a pretty fresh user. This other companion chose not to be listed as co-nom. A page was created for "Destination: Skaro ↗" and quickly got GA status.
# ''The Daleks' Master Plan ↗'' was also sent to GAN by Rhain. It passed to join Rhain's other First Doctor content, being the fourth season three article to get the green check.
# Peter Capaldi: The filmography ↗ and newly created awards ↗ of Capaldi were both sent to FLC and passed. Capaldi's main page was sent to GA, though due to some minor incompetence on the part of the nominator it was failed.
{{column}}
<big>'''Proposals to the WikiProject'''</big>
:A recent proposal at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Doctor Who ↗ suggested potential improvements and suggestions for the main page of the project, as well as discussions about the project overall. The proposals are as follows:
# The Task Forces section should be removed due to inactivity in the Torchwood Task Force, and a lack of significant interest in creating further Task Forces.
# The freenode channel no longer works and should be removed due to most discussion taking place on site.
# Due to the low quality of ''Lungbarrow ↗'' and ''Jubilee ↗'' despite being sample articles, these articles should either be removed as samples or improved. Additionally, the "sample device" has a very small application field, and should be removed from the sample articles section.
# An updates infobox should be included, similarly to those used by Wikipedia:VGCHAR ↗.
# ''Radio Times ↗''{{'}}s ''Doctor Who'' sections should be included in the references section due to their benefits for the project sourcing wise.
# The Deletion Discussion archive should be removed, or have work invested in updating it, due to its lack of updates.
If you feel you have any thoughts or suggestions on these matters, or on any other matters pertaining to the project and its main page, feel free to chime in the ongoing discussion.
{{columns-end}}
<big>'''Discussions of Note'''</big>
A move discussion is currently underway ↗ on whether or not ''Doctor Who'' series 14 ↗ should be moved to ''Doctor Who'' season 1 (2024) ↗. The discussion also involves conversation on a few other adjacent articles. If you have an opinion on the matter please read over the discussion or leave comments.

<big>'''Welcome'''</big>
:Hello and welcome to the second issue of the new newsletter! Following the success of the first newsletter we are back to write more stuff.}}
{{columns-start|num=2}}
<big>'''Articles for deletion'''</big>
<br>Several articles have been nominated for deletion, such as Time War (Doctor Who) ↗, and several articles have been deleted, or merged or redirected, especially those relating to books, due to lack of WP:SIGCOV ↗ and WP:NBOOK ↗. Editors can always help either by participating in the deletion discussions (which are noted on the project page), adding to such articles, or bringing attention to other such articles through AfD or the WikiProject talk page, to aid in clean-up.
<big>'''Notice of Draft Articles'''</big>
<br>A new ''Doctor Who'' spin-off was announced at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, called ''The War Between the Land and the Sea ↗'', and will feature old and new Whoniverse ↗ characters working for UNIT ↗ as they battle the Sea Devils ↗. The main space article currently redirects to Whoniverse, but collaboration is currently underway in a draft article ↗. As filming on this miniseries has recently begun, its relocation to the mains space will presumably take place soon per the recommendations laid out at WP:NTV ↗.
<br>There is also a draft article in progress for the upcoming 2024 Christmas special ↗. While this article won't be moved until the episode airs, any new contributions are welcome.
<big>'''Doctor Who News'''</big>
<br>A small number of editors have recently raised questions regarding the reliability of Doctor Who News ↗. This website is particularly used for information regarding viewing figures and the Appreciation Index ↗ of most episodes as well as some news information. If there is a better source for any information supported by this website, it should be replaced in good faith.
<br>A full consensus on whether or not to remove the information that can't be supported by a different source has not yet been reached. Any editor who has opinions on this matter should contribute to the discussion on the WikiProject talk page ↗.
{{column}}
<big>'''Continued Progress Towards Good/Featured Content'''</big>
<br> There has been lots of progress made towards recognized articles in the last two months, related to such diverse categories as series, specials, lists and episodes A sub-page ↗ has also been added to the WikiProject, to list any possible goals we can aim towards.
<big>'''Proposals Regarding the State of Fictional Elements Articles in the WikiProject'''</big>
:Several proposals have been laid out regarding fictional elements in the WikiProject, which includes fictional characters, locations, and more. Due to a concerning quality state regarding the large majority of them, several methods of tackling them in order to improve these articles' quality for the future have been proposed. The primary three proposals are as follows:
:1. A priority list should be made to determine what articles are most pressing and in need of improvement in the WikiProject overall. Focus would be put onto important subjects and articles in a state of dubious notability that would make them viable for deletion processes such as AfD.
:2. A group of articles is selected for improvement, which are ones deemed most relevant to the WikiProject for the future. Any lesser important subjects can be sidelined and worked on as editors see fit.
:3. A long term goal is made to improve all elements. This will come at the caveat of taking significantly longer and requiring more heavy participation than the above two proposals, but would guarantee a slow and steady way to solve the issue.
:If any editors are interested in chiming into the conversation and sharing their piece on how this should be handled, or if any editors wish to help with this proposal and improve fictional elements articles, then feel free to share thoughts at the discussion's section on the article's talk page ↗.

Invitation to participate in a research
Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this '''anonymous survey ↗'''.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page ↗ and view its privacy statement ↗ .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
WMF Research Team ↗

<big>'''Continued Improvement of Content'''</big>
:Since the last Newsletter, the articles "Eve of the Daleks ↗", ''Terror of the Zygons ↗'', "The Name of the Doctor ↗", "Silence in the Library ↗", ''Doctor Who'' series 2 ↗, Mel Bush ↗, Peter Capaldi ↗, "Midnight ↗", "Forest of the Dead ↗", "The Church on Ruby Road ↗", ''Doctor Who'' specials (2023) ↗, and ''Doctor Who'' series 14 ↗ have all been promoted to Good Article status. The Good Topic ''Doctor Who'' specials (2023) ↗ and the Featured Topic Peter Capaldi ↗ have also been promoted.
:With the amount of articles promoted in the year, we have had our second most productive year of all time, falling just short of beating the record set by 2012. Work is continuing underway on articles Project-wide, and the Good Topic for the revived era ↗ nears completion.
:Ongoing discussion and goals can be found at WP:WikiProject Doctor Who/Goals ↗ and nominees for promoted content here ↗. Feel free to contribute in writing or in reviewing!

<big>'''Reliable Sources'''</big>
:A discussion ↗ on the reliability of CultBox ↗ has determined that it should be phased out of use in the WikiProject. This source has been widely used across project articles, especially for information about filming. Concerns that the website is self-published and has poor editorial standards were raised. In some articles, project editors have already begun depreciating the source.
:Similar concerns were raised about Doctor Who TV (doctorwho.tv.co.uk) ↗. Uses of this source have also been depreciated. This website should NOT be confused with Doctor Who TV (doctorwho.tv) ↗, a commercial website published by the Beeb, which is acceptable for use as a primary source.
:As discussed in the previous issue, Doctor Who News ↗ has been widely phased out where possible. If you have any comments about these sources or any others, please contribute to the discussions on the project talk page.

<big>'''Novels Being Overhauled'''</big>
:The scrutiny on many of the Doctor's past adventures through print over the years continues in regard to determining their individual notability. Discussions can be found on the WikiProject's talk page ↗, with discussion still well under way in ironing out which articles pass the notability bar.
:You can contribute by helping to improve articles of the novels, and other extended media, and bringing attention to the ones that might not.

<big>'''Project Barnstar'''</big>
:In breaking news, it appears that Torchwood Three has been raided. The resurrection gauntlet ↗ has been stolen and used on the WikiProject ''Doctor Who'' Barnstar ↗. :Additionally, with the promotion of Yeti (''Doctor Who'') ↗ to FA status just this past month, the project has gotten its first FA status article in nearly a decade, with the last FA promotion being From The Doctor to my son Thomas ↗ in November 2015.
:Congratulations to all involved with these articles, and keep up the good work!

When the future of the series is more certain, the schedule may update once more at that time.

Guide to temporary accounts
Hello, Whouk. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.
'''Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed.''' Instead, they will have a '''temporary account ↗''' (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with the temporary account IP viewer ↗ (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.
'''How do temporary accounts work?'''
thumb|350px|Editing from a temporary account ↗
- When a logged-out user completes an edit or a logged action for the first time, a cookie will be set in this user's browser and a temporary account tied with this cookie will be automatically created for them. This account's name will follow the pattern: <code>~2025-12345-67</code> (a tilde, year of creation, a number split into units of 5).
- All subsequent actions by the temporary account user will be attributed to this username. The cookie will expire 90 days after its creation. As long as it exists, all edits made from this device will be attributed to this temporary account. It will be the same account even if the IP address changes, unless the user clears their cookies or uses a different device or web browser.
- A record of the IP address used at the time of each edit will be stored for 90 days after the edit. Users with the temporary account IP viewer ↗ (TAIV) user right will be able to see the underlying IP addresses.
- As a measure against vandalism, there are two limitations on the creation of temporary accounts:
- * There has to be a minimum of 10 minutes between subsequent temporary account creations from the same IP (or /64 range in case of IPv6).
- * There can be a maximum of 6 temporary accounts created from an IP (or /64 range) within a period of 24 hours.
'''Temporary account IP viewer user right'''
thumb|350px|How to enable IP Reveal ↗
- Administrators may grant the '''temporary account IP viewer ↗''' (TAIV) user right to non-administrators who meet the criteria for granting ↗. Importantly, an editor must make an explicit request for the permission (e.g. at WP:PERM/TAIV ↗)—administrators are <strong>not</strong> permitted to assign the right without a request.
- Administrators will <em>automatically</em> be able to see temporary account IP information once they have accepted the Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy ↗ via Special:Preferences ↗ or via the onboarding dialog which comes up after temporary accounts are deployed.
'''Impact for administrators'''
- It will be possible to block many abusers by just blocking their temporary accounts. A blocked person won't be able to create new temporary accounts quickly if the admin selects the autoblock ↗ option.
- It will still be possible to block an IP address or IP range.
- Temporary accounts will not be retroactively applied to contributions made before the deployment. On Special:Contributions ↗, you will be able to see existing IP user contributions, but not new contributions made by temporary accounts on that IP address. Instead, you should use Special:IPContributions ↗ for this (see a video about IPContributions in a gallery below).
'''Rules about IP information disclosure'''
- Publicizing an IP address gained through TAIV access is generally ↗ not allowed (e.g. {{!tq|~2025-12345-67 previously edited as 192.0.2.1}} or {{!tq|~2025-12345-67's IP address is 192.0.2.1}}).
- Publicly linking a TA to another TA is allowed if "reasonably believed to be necessary". (e.g. {{tq|~2025-12345-67 and ~2025-12345-68 are likely the same person, so I am counting their reverts together toward 3RR ↗}}, but not {{!tq|Hey ~2025-12345-68, you did some good editing as ~2025-12345-67}})
- See {{section link|Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer|What can and can't be said}} for more detailed guidelines.
'''Useful tools for patrollers'''
- It is possible to view if a user has opted-in to view temporary account IPs via the User Info card ↗, available in {{Preferences|Appearance|Advanced options|check={{int:checkuser-userinfocard-enable-preference-description}}}}
- * This feature also makes it possible for anyone to see the approximate count of temporary accounts active on the same IP address range.
- Special:IPContributions ↗ allows viewing all edits and temporary accounts connected to a specific IP address or IP range.
- Similarly, Special:GlobalContributions ↗ supports global search for a given temporary account's activity.
- The auto-reveal feature (see video below) allows users with the right permissions to automatically reveal all IP addresses for a limited time window.

Administrative permissions and inactivity reminder

<big>'''Into the Vortex! (Of Good and Featured Content)'''</big>
:Since our newsletter last December, the ''Doctor Who'' WikiProject has seen a large amount of quality article improvement. So far, 16 Good Articles have been improved this year! We're at about the same pace we were last year, which is always good to see, especially given the twelve other articles nominated for GA status at present. Special shoutouts to users {{noping|Rhain}} for their improvements on First Doctor ↗ serials, {{noping|SkywalkerEccleston}} for their various improvements across a wide variety of articles, {{noping|Lbal}} for their work on Full Circle (''Doctor Who'') ↗, and {{noping|Doomitron}} for their work on Sixth Doctor ↗.
:Additionally, since then, Ice Warrior ↗ has been improved to Featured Article status, List of ''Doctor Who'' creatures and aliens ↗ and List of ''Doctor Who'' characters ↗ have been improved to Featured List status, and three Good Topics focused on articles relating to the Midnight Entity ↗, the Slitheen ↗, and ''Doctor Who'' series 15 ↗ have been nominated and approved.
:Congratulations to all of the users who have improved quality ''Doctor Who'' articles in the past few months!
<big>'''A flabbergasting discovery'''</big>
:In March, it was announced that episodes 1 ("The Nightmare Begins") and 3 ("Devil's Planet") of ''The Daleks' Master Plan ↗'' were found by the charity Film is Fabulous! in a private collection among some films. The collector gave them permission to have them and sadly passed away not long after. Upon learning of the discovery through Toby Hadoke ↗, actor Peter Purves ↗, who starred in the episodes alongside William Hartnell ↗ and Adrienne Hill ↗, said "My flabber has never been so gasted". The episodes were shown at a BFI ↗ screening (with Purves in attendance) in April and are now available on BBC iPlayer ↗ in the UK and the official Doctor Who Classic YouTube ↗ channel in the US. This means that episodes 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 of ''The Daleks' Master Plan'' are now available.
:It has been hinted that more could be found in the near future as 95 episodes remain missing.
<big>'''Intelligence Bulletin from the Subwave Network'''</big>
- The 1996 American-produced ''Doctor Who'' television film ↗ was remastered in 4K using the original film reels for a Blu-ray release this May. The restored version includes both the UK and U.S. broadcast versions and new special features.
- Big Finish Productions ↗ recently extended their contract with the BBC ↗ to continue licensing the ''Doctor Who'' franchise intellectual property for audio stories through 2035. The first new production to be confirmed following this announcement, is a fifteen-part box set featuring David Tennant set to begin releasing bimonthly next year.
- In February, the First Doctor ↗ serial ''The Rescue ↗'' was published on vinyl record ↗ as a special release for Record Store Day ↗ in the United Kingdom.
- ''Circuit Breaker'', a new multi-platform story starring Jo Martin ↗ as the Fugitive Doctor ↗ was announced by BBC Studios ↗ to launch this June. Spanning audio, books, comics, games, magazine, internet, and Blu-ray releases, tells a singular interconnected story about UNIT's Black Archive across several mediums.
- Seventeen years after its last release, Character Options is releasing a new five-part set of ''Doctor Who'' figures beginning in July.
- In the United States, AMC+ ↗ has secured rights to be the exclusive streaming video on demand host of all 2005–2022 ''Doctor Who'' episodes. This era of ''Who'' has been unavailable to stream in the States since its removal from HBO Max ↗ in July 2025. Noticeably absent from press releases are mention of spin-off series ''Torchwood ↗'' and ''The Sarah Jane Adventures ↗''; while these shows have historically been packaged with this era of ''Who'' in streaming deals on HBO Max, before that on Amazon Prime Video ↗, as well as Netflix ↗ and Hulu ↗ in the ancient days, there is no confirmation if these will be included. Elsewhere in America, Classic ''Who'' has it's own streaming home on BritBox ↗ (yes, BritBox still exists on this side of the pond), while the 60th anniversary specials and Gatwa's era remain on Disney+ ↗ for the foreseeable future. Disney has also yet to release ''The War Between the Land and the Sea ↗'', a five-part miniseries previously marketed by the company as releasing outside of the UK and Ireland in "early 2026". There is also no news on where, if anywhere, future episodes of ''Who'' will air or stream in the United States (or elsewhere worldwide, for that matter); however, AMC Global Media ↗ (the owner of AMC+) owns BBC America ↗, which it regularly licenses BBC content for and was the linear broadcaster of ''Who'' from 2009–2022, and a non-controlling ownership stake in BritBox ↗. AMC+ was also previously the next-day streamer of ''Who'' episodes during the Jodie Whittaker ↗/Chris Chibnall ↗-era as a transitional period between their broadcast on BBC America and release on HBO Max. Given this, and the global reach of AMC+, it's a feasible home for future new episodes and even the rumored potential of a co-production deal to fill the funding deficit left by Disney.
<big>'''Succession'''</big>
:The oldest-living person associated with the Whoniverse since Arnold Yarrow ↗'s death in December 2024, Laurie Webb ↗, sadly passed away on 29 March aged 101 years, 327 days. He remains the fifth longest-lived person associated with the Whoniverse and the tenth to become a centenarian. The title of oldest-living person associated with the Whoniverse is now held by 97-year-old Peter Cellier ↗ (''Time-Flight ↗'').
