Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Festus Awuah Kwofie ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Graduate ↗<!-- ([//dispenser.info.tm/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dablinks.py/Festus_Awuah_Kwofie check to confirm] | [//dispenser.info.tm/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dab_solver.py/Festus_Awuah_Kwofie?client=notify fix with Dab solver])-->. Wikipedia and copyright
30px|link=|alt=Control copyright icon ↗ Hello Yaw tuba! Your additions to :Ebenezer Kojo Kum ↗ have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain ↗ or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible ↗ copyright license. (''To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗''.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright ↗ and plagiarism ↗ issues.
- You can only copy/translate a ''small'' amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation mark ↗s (") and cite the source using an inline citation ↗. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content ↗ in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners ↗, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information ''in your own words and structure'', in proper paraphrase ↗. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems ↗, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing ↗. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify ↗ the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research ↗.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use ↗ images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria ↗ in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If ''you'' own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you ''may'' be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, ''to the world'', into either the public domain ↗ (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible ↗ copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia ↗. See also Help:Translation#License requirements ↗.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked ↗ from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-copyright-new --> — Diannaa (talk) 15:30, 3 September 2022 (UTC)

:Hello Mccapra. Hope you are fine?? Please I humbly request that article on Kentos Music Band should be retrieved since I have more credible references to support whatever I write about the band. Moreover i was about to add references and more information until I got to realized that article has been deleted. Again this band has a lot of achievements in Ghana and globally. It also composed a song for Ghana which has officially been endorsed as the anthem for Ghana in the upcoming FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This is my humble plea. Proper way to insert images in infoboxes
Hello @Yaw tuba. I am @Archer1234. I noticed {{diff|Rebecca Naa Dedei Aryeetey|1132583160|1132581278|your recent edit}} to :Rebecca Naa Dedei Aryeetey ↗ where you added an image to the infobox. I want to let you know that the way you added the image was not done according to Wikipedia's ''Manual of Style'' (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE ↗).
:When adding an image to an infobox, thumbnails should NOT be used. Simply supplying the file name will work. For example, to use :File:Image PlaceHolder.png ↗, you can simply use {{para|image|Image PlaceHolder.png}}. Captions should be specified with the {{para|caption}} parameter. Every infobox is different and the documentation for the infobox in question should be consulted for the proper parameters to match the image and caption.
;To fix:
Do not use the full image syntax:
:{{para|image|{{var|<nowiki>thumb|Some image caption ↗</nowiki>}}}}
Instead, just supply the name of the image. So, in this case you can simply do:
:{{para|image|{{var|SomeImage.jpg}}}}
and optionally:
:{{para|caption|{{var|Some image caption}}}}.
Hopefully you will find this information useful for your future editing. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. — <span style="border-radius:8em;padding:0 7px;background:#bf5700"><span style="color:white">'''Archer1234'''</span></span> (t ↗·c ↗) 16:54, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
:oh sure sure.... I forgot to clear the thumbnail... Thanks a lot Yaw tuba (talk) 17:05, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
::It is more than just clearing the thumbnail. It is also not using the full image syntax <code><nowiki>|image=thumb|Some image caption ↗</nowiki></code> syntax. Just clearing the "{{tq|thumb}}" portion is not enough. Just use <code><nowiki>|image=SomeImage.jpg</nowiki></code>. Thanks. — <span style="border-radius:8em;padding:0 7px;background:#bf5700"><span style="color:white">'''Archer1234'''</span></span> (t ↗·c ↗) 17:15, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
Vague edit summaries
Hello @Yaw tuba. I am @Archer1234. I have noticed in your edits that you primarily use the text "{{tq|improved article}}" as the edit summary.
The purpose of the edit summary ↗ is to:
{{tqb|help other editors by (a) providing a reason for the edit, (b) saving the time to open up the edit to find out what it's all about, and (c) providing information about the edit on diff pages and lists of changes (such as page histories and watchlists).}}
In Help:Edit summary ↗, it also says to
{{tqb|''Avoid vagueness''. While edit summaries can be terse, they should still be specific. Providing an edit summary similar to "I made some changes" is functionally equivalent to not providing a summary at all.}}
Your edit summaries are similarly too vague and is equivalent to not providing a summary at all.
In the future, please use specific meaningful edit summaries that accurately describe the specific changes you have made. WP:EDITSUMCITE ↗ provides help on how to write an edit summary. If you have any questions, you can ask me or ask over at '''The Teahouse ↗''' where experienced editors can answer your questions and provide counsel and guidance. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators '''will be blocked from editing ↗'''.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you ''must'' verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗ for how you may obtain it. Remember to capitalize!
Hi Yaw tuba! I've noticed that you forgot to capitalize the first letters of a few short descriptions you added. As GhostInTheMachine had mentioned last month, this is required by policy ↗. I would suggest you try using Wikipedia:Shortdesc helper ↗ to add or edit short descriptions, as it not only makes editing much easier, but it also automatically capitalizes the first letter when adding a new short description.
Do note, however, that shortdesc helper doesn't auto-capitalize when you change short descriptions, so you should still get into the habit of capitalizing. But don't stress if you slip up once in a while, it happens to all of us! We've got a tracking category :Category:Pages with lower-case short description ↗ to keep an eye out for these mistakes and catch them in time (that's how I noticed your edits). Have a good day! Dead people
No need to add :Category:Dead people ↗ to people who have passed, reference to Theresa Kufuor ↗ and Enoch Teye Mensah ↗. All you need to do is to check if :Category:2023 deaths ↗ has been added to the article. In 2024, similar thing [Category:2024 deaths]. Kindly take note. The :Category:Dead people ↗ is a bigger category that carries all the dead people categories from when Wikipedia started.
Have a nice time editing. Ampimd (talk) 08:41, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
:Well noted.... Thanks Yaw tuba (talk) 08:43, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Over referencing
You don't need to add 7 references which talks about the same thing. reference to Theresa Kufuor ↗. You just need one reliable reference. For example her death. You dont need to add 7 references to the date of her death. If not then another person would also come and add 5 more. It makes it irrelevant and somehow redundant. Ampimd (talk) 18:51, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Kindly take note that it is mostly written as Early life and education and not Early life and education. Kindly check other articles as reference. Reason for such wording is because, their birth and other things surrounding their childhood is considered as part of the early life. So it mostly starts with
Adwoa Mansa was born on 1 January 1900 in Kumasi to Kwame Adu and Yaa Boateng. She was the third born and grew up with 8 other siblings. She started her basic school......... Ampimd (talk) 19:04, 2 October 2023 (UTC)

Cut and paste moves
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi, and thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into :Akoto Ampaw ↗. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move ↗", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history ↗, which is legally required for attribution ↗. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be ''moved'' to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits ↗, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab ↗ at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu ↗ for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect ↗ from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves ↗ to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge ↗. Hello Yaw tuba:
'''WikiProject Women in Green ↗''' is holding a ''' month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024 ↗'''!<br /><br />
Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme '''Around the World in 31 Days'''! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least '''31 countries''' (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

DCWC closing update
Two weeks ago, the 2025 Developing Countries WikiContest ↗ came to a close! After three months of stiff competition at the top of the leaderboard, we have our winners. <span class="nowrap">30px|Bronze Belt Buckle – 3rd place ↗ </span>{{DCWC participant/2025|Vigilantcosmicpenguin}}, continuing his work on covering abortion in Africa ↗, comes in third with 692 points. <span class="nowrap">30px|Silver Belt Buckle – 2nd place ↗ </span>{{DCWC participant/2025|Simongraham}} comes in second with 763 points, largely from a slew of good articles about jumping spider ↗s. And returning to the podium for the second year in a row, <span class="nowrap">30px|Gold Belt Buckle – 1st place ↗ </span>{{DCWC participant/2025|BeanieFan11}} takes the Gold Belt Buckle with a mind-boggling 946 points from his series of articles on sportpersons. Congratulations to our winners!
Amazingly, the award for the most countries covered goes to both {{DCWC participant/2025|BeanieFan11}} and {{DCWC participant/2025|Simongraham}}, who each submitted articles under 30 flags! {{DCWC participant/2025|BeanieFan11}} also wins for writing the most quality articles (16 good articles). For submitting 16 articles related to El Salvador, {{DCWC participant/2025|PizzaKing13}} wins the award for most submissions under one country. The award for most submissions related to women goes to both {{DCWC participant/2025|Spookyaki}} (7 biographies about women) and {{DCWC participant/2025|Vigilantcosmicpenguin}} (21 related articles). And for the second year, {{DCWC participant/2025|Simongraham}} wins for the most reviews, having submitted 21!
Among the participants' contributions were 2 FAs, 5 FLs, 124 GAs, and an uncounted number of DYKs, ITNs, and reviews of every kind! Regardless of your level of participation, every contestant can be proud to have contributed towards a major step in countering the systemic bias on Wikipedia ↗. Every year, millions of readers and editors around the globe use Wikipedia to educate themselves and communicate with others about parts of the world that often receive less attention than they deserve. Thank you for participating with us in the contest and contributing to this effort. The DCWC will return next year, and we look forward to seeing you contribute again! However, before that...
