Don't you have literally anything else better to do than to edit small typos on people's user pages? Dude, weird. Go away. JohnDVandevert (talk) 06:10, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

:Also, your edit wasn't even right. The name has two ffs. FFS! JohnDVandevert (talk) 06:13, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
::Hello @JohnDVandevert
::Yeah dude, I have nothing better to do. The edit happened in the function of a filemover on Commons. The script automatically replaces all file names in all language versions. Please read about this (:c:GR ↗) on Commons, thank you. However, the script only replaces the file name from Commons and not your image description, but I saw that you have already done this yourself. I wish you a nice day, <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">זיו「Ziv」 • <small>For love letters and other notes</small></span> 07:52, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

Possible joint cooperation on this Wikipedia

Hello Ziv, it's me Wyler, if you still remember me from the Hungarian Wikipedia, since i was blocked from there completely by the admins, my only place right now is here in this Wikipedia, i want you to know, whatever those editors or the admins themselves from Hungarian Wiki tell you about me, they want to confuse you with telling you that i'm the worst ever person on that wiki and all this because of that stupid mistake which never happens again, i admit i overreacted a bit that thing with them on that day, but unfortunately it became worse with me being blocked by that guy pallerti, main thing is do not let those admins from the hun wiki confuse you with talking shit about me, do not let them turn you against me, i hope we can at least cooperate here, if not, then i will not bother you anymore, have a nice day. Template editor granted

right|130px ↗
Your account has been granted the "{{mono|templateeditor}}" user permission, allowing you to edit templates ↗ and modules ↗ that have been protected with template protection ↗. It also allows you to bypass the title blacklist ↗, giving you the ability to create and edit editnotices ↗. Before you use this user right, please read '''Wikipedia:Template editor ↗''' and make sure you understand its contents. In particular, you should read the section on wise template editing ↗ and the criteria for revocation ↗.

You can use this user right to perform maintenance, answer edit requests, and make any other simple and generally uncontroversial edits to templates, modules, and edinotices. You can also use it to enact more complex or controversial edits, '''after''' those edits are first made to a test sandbox, and their technical reliability as well as their consensus ↗ among other informed editors has been established. If you are willing to process edit requests ↗ on templates and modules, keep in mind that you are taking responsibility to ensure the edits have consensus and are technically sound.

This user right gives you access to some of Wikipedia's most important templates and modules; it is critical that you edit them wisely and that you only make edits that are backed up by consensus. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password ↗.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

If you were granted the permission on a temporary basis you will need to re-apply for the permission a few days before it expires including in your request a permalink to the discussion where it was granted and a {{tl|Reply to}} for the administrator who granted the permission. You can find the permalink in your [//en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/rights&page=User:Ziv rights log].

need help with something

Hi, I'm thinking of making an edit, but I'm afraid to do it, so I'm asking for your help and advice before making this change. I've been working on an article called '''Devastaions of Osorio ↗.''' This article discusses the reason why the island of Hispaniola was divided into two: the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

Many Wikipedia articles about the history of Haiti state that Haiti's history began in 1492 with the arrival of Christopher Columbus. However, the article on the '''Devastaions of Osorio ↗ prooves that''' that this is false. Haiti's history began in 1605 with Osorio's Devastations, not in 1492. I want to make this change, but I'm afraid my account will be deleted for doing so.

Could you guide me on what I should do?

take care. Risantana (talk) 03:21, 5 December 2025 (UTC)

Happy First Edit Anniversary Ziv 🎉

Hey @Ziv. Your wiki edit anniversary is today, marking 5 years of dedicated contributions to English Wikipedia. Your passion for sharing knowledge and your remarkable contributions have not only enriched the project, but also inspired countless others to contribute. Thank you for your amazing contributions. Wishing you many more wonderful years ahead in the Wiki journey and a blessed New Year. :) -<span style="color:#990000">❙❚❚</span><span style="color:#339966">❙❙</span><span style="font-variant:small-caps;color:#000"> GnOeee </span><span style="color:#006699">❚❙❚</span><span style="color:#339966">❙❙</span> 18:33, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

:Hello @Gnoeee
:Ohhh, thank you so much! I wasn't aware of that. I've only been really active here for about a year, since I started renaming files and became an admin on Commons. File renaming

Why do you bother? It seems a complete waste of time to me. The name of a file doesn't matter at all, so long as it is unique. Best, Johnbod (talk) 15:00, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

:Hello @Johnbod
:No, it's not about having a unique filename, but it should also comply with the Commons guidelines, see :c:COM:FN ↗. If uploaders read the rules more carefully, there would be less renaming to do. Best regards, <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">זיו「Ziv」 • <small>For love letters and other notes</small></span> 15:20, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
::Of the 50 million things wrong with Commons, this seems about the least important to me! Johnbod (talk) 16:42, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
:::That's okay, it might not be important to you, but it could be for others. Some people write articles, others just improve them, still others simply categorize them or specifically search for typos. And then there are others, like me, who rename poorly named images. That's how every user contributes to Wikimedia in their own way. <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">זיו「Ziv」 • <small>For love letters and other notes</small></span> 16:56, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
::::Yes, but apart from cluttering up watchlists, which your changes certainly do, it's very hard to see how your changes affect anything at all. Johnbod (talk) 23:29, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
:::::@Johnbod: If you don't know anything about Commons, read up on it. Should I also start criticizing you for whether your article changes are sensible? Otherwise, you do your thing and let me do mine. Best regards, <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">זיו「Ziv」 • <small>For love letters and other notes</small></span> 23:39, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
:::::::I have tens of thousands of edits on Commons, probably more than you, and I'm sure much more useful than yours! If you want something useful to do on Commons, work on the categories and file descriptions. The file names really don't matter, so long as they are unique. You are perfectly welcome, as is anyone, to comment on my WP edits, if you have anything sensible to say. Johnbod (talk) 02:04, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
::::::::@Johnbod, I've already explained my opinion on this to you. If the filename were truly so unimportant, the Filemover group wouldn't exist, and hundreds of files wouldn't be renamed every day. Since I'm also an administrator on Commons, I do more "useful" things there, like deleting copyvios and other such tasks. So don't worry. <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">זיו「Ziv」 • <small>For love letters and other notes</small></span> 09:10, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::These days on Wikimedia, the fact that a number of people are devoting a lot of time to a gnoming activity is absolutely unconvincing as an argument that the activity is actually useful! Johnbod (talk) 09:58, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::::@Johnbod: I don't need your criticism of my volunteer work for Wikimedia Commons, and if you have nothing meaningful to contribute to the discussion, I would kindly ask you to stay away from my talk page. Thank you and have a nice Sunday. <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">זיו「Ziv」 • <small>For love letters and other notes</small></span> 10:33, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

File renaming

thumb|no watermark (I hope) ↗
Hello @Ziv, you seem to have renamed the file here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Manoj_Parab&diff=1355016642&oldid=1355012314 ↗. As explained in the edit summary, the new file I had uploaded was without the watermark although they were basically the same files. Do you mind reverting the same and deleting the one with the watermark? <b style="color:#000;">''Rejoy''</b>2003(<b style="color:#060;">talk</b>) 14:14, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

:Hello @Rejoy2003:
:That wasn't a rename, but a duplicate tag. I've now reset the file on Commons so it no longer shows the watermark. Next time, please link the file correctly to prevent this from happening. If the filename is now inappropriate, I'd be happy to change it. Best regards, <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">זיו「Ziv」 • <small>For love letters and other notes</small></span> 14:20, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
::@Ziv well in my defense I had updated the file but it never showed on the article, see Manoj Parab ↗. The file still shows the watermark even if you had what you just did. <b style="color:#000;">''Rejoy''</b>2003(<b style="color:#060;">talk</b>) 14:22, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
:::Just wait, cache shows you the old variant. <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">זיו「Ziv」 • <small>For love letters and other notes</small></span> 14:28, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
::::I added a template to the image; that should be sufficient. <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">זיו「Ziv」 • <small>For love letters and other notes</small></span> 14:37, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
:::::@Ziv how long is this supposed to take? the watermark is still there smh <b style="color:#000;">''Rejoy''</b>2003(<b style="color:#060;">talk</b>) 16:10, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
::::::@Rejoy2003: Your browser stores the files on your computer so it can display them. It's best to configure your browser to automatically clear the cache after each session, otherwise junk data will accumulate and eventually clutter your hard drive. <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">זיו「Ziv」 • <small>For love letters and other notes</small></span> 16:21, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
