Claudine Muru article
Hi there, I saw that you have moved my https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Claudine_Muru article back to a draft. Regarding your comment in the history, I decided to move it myself as my account does technically allow me to do it (and I didn't realise this was not allowed, so my apologies for that), but mostly because the previous reason for the draft decline was a false allegation of AI use that I resolved with the reviewer on their talk page.
I was hoping you could give me an idea of how many more sources are needed for the article to be notable enough. I found quite a wide range to hopefully fit the notability criteria, but I thought the current selection would be sufficient for a stub article at least?
I have also done articles like this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molly_Rangiwai-McHale which have a similar range of sources and was accepted through the draft process. I always appreciate any feedback on improving articles, and I thank you for your work, just looking for some clarification. --Avawatson03 (talk) 08:10, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
:I don't think you, the primary contributor, should be the one to ''submit it for review'' (putting it into the AfC ↗ process, which involves more than 1 editor) and then ''accept it yourself'' without letting other reviewer(s) check if your draft has actually resolved the comments provided by them to make sure your article doesn't get into an « Articles for Deletion » discussion ↗.
:I will note that you should make it so that the article subject satisfies the notability guidelines for creative professionals ↗; in this case, '''how is her work notable in Maori art'''? Is she significant in Maori art/culture, has she introduced a significant new concept/technique and/or themes, played a major role in making significant works, etc.? '''<span style="color:#fff; background:#9400d3">nhals8</span>''' <small>(rats in the house of the dead)</small> 08:30, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
::"The person's work (or works) has: (a) become a significant monument, (b) been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) won significant critical attention, or (d) been represented within the permanent collections ↗ of several notable galleries or museums."
::Thank you for your reply. Regarding the guidelines, I believe that this point is most relevant to the article. The artist has exhibited work in Germany and New Zealand, and has work in the permanent collection of Auckland Museum. Her work is notable in Māori art mainly for her contributions to the Toi Tū Toi Ora exhibition of Māori contemporary art (the significance of this exhibition isn't mentioned in my article because it has its own Wikipedia article, however it is linked within the article). I could add more about the Toi Tū exhibition but I thought this would be a repeat of information? Avawatson03 (talk) 08:42, 29 May 2026 (UTC)

:Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!
:Firstly, You should get the basics of editing ↗ and other (important) policies and guidelines ↗ first; once you're used to them, you should read the policy for COIs (WP:COI ↗), the practices you should do in this case ↗, and how to disclose COIs ↗, (usually in your user page). There's also a more simpler explanation of them at this guide ↗ and covers most of the important stuff, though it might not be as detailed as WP:COI ↗. Hi Nhlas! Nice to meet you. I was just wondering how archiving worked and when/how often we are supposed to be archiving website sources. --Bairdsparrow (talk) 00:56, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
:Hello, nice to meet you too ^^
:I actually don't know how exactly web archiving works, but archives basically preserve a "snapshot" of a website.
:Otherwise, as web archives are pretty much hosted outside Wikipedia (e.g. Internet Archive ↗, Bibliothèque nationale de France ↗, Megalodon), the limit to how much and how often you can archive is pretty much on them. Question from Bairdsparrow (14:49, 27 April 2026)
Hi Nhals! I've been going through the manuals of style and I'm a little confused about how lists of works/bibliographies go. Should I cite someone's books within their list of works, or just the unknown ones? Or should I just cite any books below that within a separate bibliography? --Bairdsparrow (talk) 14:49, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
:Hello (sorry for the late reply !)
:1) Usually, bibliography goes as "Further reading"/"Bibliography", and there's more detail about what it should have in MOS:APPENDIX ↗. However, there's a few differences between ''Further reading'' and ''Bibliography''; ''Further reading'' refers to sources that the editor adds to the section so that readers can have a better/more thorough understanding of the subject, while ''Bibliography'' refers to a section that contains books, articles, journals, papers, etc. that are cited ''multiple times as a source, with each citation citing different pages'', where each citation is the author's last name, followed by a year, and if you were to follow the citation, you'll get back to the main source in the ''Bibliography'' section. You may see this demonstrated in some articles like Whale ↗ (which uses both biblio and further reading) or French Gothic architecture ↗ (which is entirely biblio; scroll down towards the bottom for both these articles)
:2)There's nothing constraining you to keep consistency of sources in terms of "who wrote it, what series it belongs to", etc. In fact, we very much like having diverse sources ↗, as it helps establish notability ↗, but citing from the same source is generally okay, provided it's thorough enough ^^ '''<span style="color:#fff; background:#9400d3">nhals8</span>''' <small>(rats in the house of the dead)</small> 00:53, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

WikiCup 2026 May newsletter
The second round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 April. As a reminder for contestants who just joined or are unaware of recent changes to our round-points system, good article nomination reviews ↗ now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP ↗. Peer reviews ↗, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews ↗, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 2 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; nine scored over 500; and fourteen scored over 300. The top seven contestants had at least one featured article ↗ (two of them with two apiece). The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|MCE89}} with 1,333 points, mainly from good and featured articles about Australian people and geography
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Generalissima}} with 1,169 points, mainly from good and featured articles related to shipping ethics controversy in fanfiction ↗, waterways, and Gu Yanwu ↗
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Bgsu98}} with 1,149 points, mainly from good articles, featured articles, and featured lists about figure skating, along with many article reviews and two good topics
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Olliefant}} with 830 points, mainly from good and featured articles about television shows, episodes and media, along with nearly four dozen good and featured article reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Gommeh}} with 827 points, mainly from good and featured articles related to ''Genshin Impact ↗'' and ''Honkai: Star Rail''
The full scores for round 2 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 12 featured articles, 13 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 106 good articles, 22 good-topic articles and more than 40 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 3 In the News ↗ articles, and they have conducted over 200 reviews. The tournament points table ↗ has been updated.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed in Round 3. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed ↗. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup ↗, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. :::@MangoJHK Freely licensed media are images, videos, audio, etc. where the author (or whoever owns the copyright ↗) allows the media to be used everywhere for free, provided that you only either need to give credit to the author (list in the media's information about the author's name/detail/source) or don't, and/or use the same copyright license when redistributing. All other restrictions, such as "hey, don't use my work to make money" (no commercial) or "don't modify my work" (no derivative) are '''not freely licensed''' and therefore are '''not allowed''' on Commons, the main platform that all Wikipedias use to display free licensed media).
:::Regarding film posters, most film posters are not freely licensed, and if necessary to illustrate an article here in English Wikipedia, you should be able to demonstrate that it falls under fair use ↗ for that. In this case for film posters, you should show:
:::1) That it's in lower resolution than the original
:::2) Its purpose of use (where it's placed and why is it important in the article)
:::3) That it's not replaceable with other freely licensed media (say, out of every poster Film X has had, not a single one of them is freely licensed)
:::4) It's compliance to non-free content policy ↗ and US copyright law ↗.
::: You can see explanations (or "rationales") of fair use in examples like File:Farewell My Concubine poster.jpg ↗ or File:Squid Game season 3 poster.png ↗. '''<span style="color:#fff; background:#9400d3">nhals8</span>''' <small>(rats in the house of the dead)</small> 16:54, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
Question from Bairdsparrow (04:02, 11 May 2026)
Hi, I was just wondering when to use drafts and when to just create articles(or it seems like you can just move pages into namespace if you really wanted)? If I want to make a new article which should I do? --Bairdsparrow (talk) 04:02, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
:drafts are for everyone to (obviously) draft their articles, (and is the only means that a new account or unregistered account can create an article) and when you reach autoconfirmed (4 full days, 10 edits) you can go straight to create articles '''<span style="color:#fff; background:#9400d3">nhals8</span>''' <small>(rats in the house of the dead)</small> 04:04, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
Question from Veritas-sine-timore (08:23, 15 May 2026)
Heya, i hope this question finds ALL in good health n spirit. Quick question- of two parts, i guess. Firstly i wanted to know if there is allowance of multiple pages on a topic? i.e views or 'regional understanding' positions- defined nowadays as truth/fact. Secondly.- when pages have editing removed, who decides why n when such is imposed? I have done a quick search n read browsing tour.... and i wont lie....it seems that WORLD AFFAIRS/HISTORY, of greater importance to others , are of remarkable error. Yet fixed to remain as such. 2 examples quickly- 1- Iran and israel/usa war was started by usa/israel on 28th february 2026 due to nuclear ability negotiations failing. Yet we are all aware that it was due to a terrorist cell group slaughtering 30,000 civilian protesters.
2. Artemis II crew were first human eyes to see the dark/south side of moon. No they were not. 26 people prior to that crew had done such. One astronaut even orbited the entirety of earths moon 73 times. lol. Both examples are very well known actualities and easily confirmed on the web, within the internet... and of course... any genuine documentation.
Hope you can help answer this. Much appreciated. Ricky --Veritas-sine-timore (talk) 08:23, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
Question from Bairdsparrow (15:04, 16 May 2026)
Hi Nhals, I had a question about draftifying. I moved an article into mainspace and it is now subject to draftification. There were several issues with my article including the reviewer saying it was a "copy and paste disputed draftification" and that WP:DRAFTOBJECT applied. I read that linked article for "Objections" and I'm honestly not sure what that means. Could you help? --Bairdsparrow (talk) 15:04, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
:draftification ↗ refers to the process of sending a mainspace article back to the draft space, and regarding the « objections » section, it basically means this:
:{{tqi|Moving an article to draftspace, like any action, requires consensus}}.
:{{tqi|It may initially be carried out as a bold move if there is a reasonable expectation that doing so is uncontroversial.}} basically sending it back to draftspace is a no-brainer; for example, a mainspace article that's clearly not finished can be sent back to the draftspace for modification.
:{{tqi| But if another editor—including the creator of the page, but excluding editors with a conflict of interest—objects to the move (for example by moving the page back to mainspace), then it is not uncontroversial.}} however, if there's something like « um i don't think we should send this back to draftspace », then it's not a no-brainer and:
:{{tqi|In these circumstances, refrain from further draftifications until a consensus on the appropriate namespace has been established on the article's talk page, at articles for deletion, or another suitable venue.}} there should be consensus ↗ amongst users on whether we should draftify this in whatever's venue appropriate. talk page, afd, etc.
:{{tqi|'''This means that an article should only be unilaterally moved to draftspace a single time.'''}} if draftified, it basically can't just go back and forth between mainspace and draftspace '''unless the draft is improved and accepted back into mainspace'''.
:you should also note that the "copy and paste disputed draftification" comment comes from ''the guy who started the draftification discussion'', and the actual reason your reviewer gave for draftification is {{tqi|Not ready for mainspace, incubate in draftspace. Reason/s: more sources needed}} (diff ↗) '''<span style="color:#fff; background:#9400d3">nhals8</span>''' <small>(rats in the house of the dead)</small> 16:59, 16 May 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Draft:Hoodoo divination ↗
Hello there!
You recently tagged and deleted a draft article I had been working on for the purpose of splitting up the excessively long article Hoodoo (spirituality) ↗. You stated that it was because the draft infringed on the copyright of website https://navymule9.sakura.ne.jp/Hoodoo_spirituality.html.
However, I have already had this discussion, and it seems that ''navymule9.sakura.ne.jp'' had taken its content from Wikipedia, not the other way around. I have had this discussion here ↗ with User:ThatTrainGuy1945 on March 28th 2026 after they tagged the draft for deletion. I laid out all of the evidence and we came to the consensus that ''navymule9.sakura.ne.jp'' was not the original author. User:ThatTrainGuy1945 subsequently removed their tag for deletion.
I am new to Wikipedia and I do not understand the speedy deletion process. How can this be undone? Or, if I am mistaken, is there more evidence to prove that ''navymule9.sakura.ne.jp'' did indeed write the content first? Thanks! AbramAnder (talk) 19:47, 20 May 2026 (UTC)

Hi, I left some suggestions on what appears to be a locked article regarding the self-immolation of Aaron Bushnell. :Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. WikiCup 2026 July newsletter
The third round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 June at 23:59 (UTC). As a reminder, good article nomination reviews ↗ now receive 10 points, while peer reviews ↗, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews ↗, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 3 will advance to round 4 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 3 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; eight scored over 500; and thirteen scored over 300. The top three contestants had at least one featured article ↗ (two of them with two apiece). The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|MCE89}} with 1567 points, mainly from good and featured articles about Australian people and geography, as well as some article reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Bgsu98}} with 1547 points, mainly from good articles, featured articles, featured lists, and a good topic about figure skating, along with 20 article reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Reconrabbit}} with 1004 points, mainly from a high-multiplier featured article on European rabbit ↗ and several good articles, DYKs, and reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|A.Cython}} with 1004 points, mainly from good articles about warfare, along with 22 article reviews
- {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant17|Generalissima}} with 859 points, mainly from good and featured articles about rivers and East Asian topics
The full scores for round 3 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 12 featured articles, 12 featured lists, 7 featured-topic articles, 117 good articles, 74 good-topic articles and more than 30 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 13 In the News ↗ articles, and they have conducted nearly 180 reviews. The tournament points table ↗ has been updated.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 June but before the start of Round 4 can be claimed in Round 4. Good luck! <small>If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send ↗.</small> MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:48, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

:{{talk page stalker}} You would need a reliable source ↗ before you can add this information. :Don't be afraid to be bold ! ↗ We really appreciate high quality and informative images about a subject matter, particularly considering that you do like taking photos, so you're welcome to add in your images about the subject matter. :::I am actually very sorry, I entirely forgot that it appears blue without a forced color, since it is a link. If you want it to not appear like a link, you can add {{code|color:var(--color-base,#202122)}} instead. This is a clickable link, but properly colored: {{box|background=transparent|<span style="color: var(--color-base, #202122)>LightNightLights</span>}} LightNightLights (talk • contribs ↗) 14:32, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

You're invited to the Mentorship noticeboard
Hi, .nhals8. You are cordially invited to the brand new Wikipedia:Mentorship noticeboard ↗. I get the impression sometimes that we mentors are each toiling in our own cubbyhole or hamster wheel, quietly answering mentee questions with little to no interaction with other mentors. I think we have a lot to share and learn from each other, and I know it will make me feel better just having the opportunity to interact with you and other mentors there, and I hope it will for you, too. Looking forward to hearing your feedback. Please take the {{slink|WP:MNB|Survey|nopage=yes}} when you get there! Mathglot (talk) 02:55, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
