Yemenia flights at Dar Es Salaam

Per Yemenia's route map, flights between Sana'a and Dar Es Salaam is nonstop (may stop in Naroibi but the airline doesn't have fifth freedom rights between NBO and DAR). I wasn't able to book that segment at Yemenia's website. 68.119.73.36 ↗ (talk) 01:42, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Visual Editor

Hey Alifazal

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor ↗ on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON ↗ data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here ↗, along with a list of prominent templates ↗, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback ↗ page.

the start and end term dates for President Nyerere ought to be one i.e. 1964 and 1985; and he didn't actually take office in 1977 as indicated by you ↗ as the year was between the two elections of 1975 ↗ and 1980 ↗

Repitition of the translated name of the part may as well be unnecessary and would recommend using its acronyms instead.

:Well, as you may know, Tanzania was officially called the United Republic of Tanganyika and Zanzibar ↗ between April and November 1964, after the unification with Zanzibar and before officially changing the name to Tanzania. Next, TANU ceased to exist and CCM was formed in 1977. I think we should include the precise date about when that happened. I saw your attempt to contact him at 72.177.27.15. I think he/she has moved on to IP address 75.44.28.168 for a while. His editing at Kilimanjaro is getting really under my skin, each time instantly and without explanation reverting my additions to a section I wrote years ago and then returning it over a dozen edits in a lesser fashion, with omissions and misinterpretations. Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the '''African Destubathon ↗''' which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing, whether it's a river in Malawi, a Nigerian footballer, or a South African civil rights activist, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Question about Libya's representative to the AU?

Hi! I've been editing and updating Assembly_of_the_African_Union ↗ and while I've gone through and finished about all of the members I've left libya untouched since due to the nation's contested nature I didn't know who would be the legitimate representative. The currently listed member is Abdullah al-Thani ↗ but he(and his government) isn't the internationally recognized PM, which is Fayez al-Sarraj ↗, who is also listed on the page Chairperson_of_the_African_Union ↗. 2015 Tanzanian general election ↗

Hello Ali. There seems to be conflicting information on the number of constituency seats in the 2015 election. Some sources (around two-thirds in a Google search) say there were 264 constituency seats, but the others say 265. This EISA ↗ document lists 264 constituencies by name. However, as there were 239 constituencies in the 2010 elections, the statement sourced to a now-lost page on the NEC website that there were 26 new constituencies makes a total of 265. Lately I’ve been looking into removing images that don’t align well with Wikipedia’s content policies — especially in sensitive articles where visual content might cross the line into being sensational or undue.

The article Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy ↗ includes an image of a squealing pig, which I find problematic in terms of WP:UNDUE ↗. While I personally don't find it offensive, I understand that many readers may have a stronger reaction to it.

That said, I’m not approaching this with an offense-based argument. Instead, I plan to raise the issue at Wikipedia:Files for discussion ↗ with a '''well-reasoned, policy-focused case''' that addresses relevance and balance.
