Sierra Nevada
Thanks for your edit to :Sierra Nevada ↗, that is an interesting addition. I grew up in California but had never heard anyone object to "the Sierras" and didn't know it had become a point of contention. (Although it was firmly drummed into me that it's ''never'' "Frisco".) Irene Byon
hi: thank you for adding the article about Byon. once it is fleshed out you could add a link to it in the "Kenosha unrest" article. but all the diffs prior to 1056012036 ↗ are not related to the article and could be restored to your sandbox by a sysop or simply deleted. also, you may want to add her story to MSNBC controversies ↗. thanks for reading. :) 173.87.170.14 ↗ (talk) 00:30, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
:Thanks. I did add to MSNBC controversies but the "Kenosha unrest" article is protected and I don't have 500 edits yet, so I can't add the link. BBQboffin (talk) 01:19, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

CE Issues
There are still some issues relating to grammar and a way to reword multiple sentences. For example, the sentence "Waters joined the Hughes Aircraft Company ↗ in 1952 and was involved in pioneering research on germanium and silicon bipolar transistors ↗, and filed five patents during this period." can be reworded as "Waters joined the Hughes Aircraft Company ↗ in 1952 and was involved in pioneering research on germanium and silicon bipolar transistors ↗; filing five patents during this period." These mistakes should be easy to fix, but I'll leave it to you to fix them. Ray 09:13, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
:This is the article I'm referring to: Warren P. Waters - Wikipedia ↗ Ray 09:13, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
::Thanks! I'll reword the sentence, but your rewording appears to me to be an incorrect use of a semicolon, as "filing five patents during this period" is not an independent clause, but "he filed five patents during this period" would be correct. I'll look over the rest and see if I can find more issues. BBQboffin (talk) 16:19, 14 November 2022 (UTC)

You deleted highly notable information from the lede, citing (1) WP:CRIME and (2) UNDUE. Re. (1), there is nothing (that I can see) in that very long piece saying that someone charged with an offence or having a warrant issued against them cannot have that info in the lede. That article is all about particular major criminals' articles, so isn’t relevant here. Re. (2) this man is the very first "non-binary" high-level appointee in the Govt that we know of and as such anything about him that is untoward is highly notable. Unfortunately for him there is a lot that is untoward about him and his story. He has been charged for the first reported theft and there’s a warrant out for his arrest for the second reported one. That’s two thefts, both of which law enforcement has video evidence for. Help with removing excessive detail
Hello again - I'm taking up your offer of help! I'm editing a page tagged for having excessive intricate detail and I can see some detail I think I can remove and summarise. I was wondering if when doing this I should paste a record of the original text containing the detail I'm removing on the article's talk page. Or is that not necessary? Breatheforpeace (talk) 02:35, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
:No need to post the deleted text since the page history saves a record of earlier revisions. If anyone has a beef about your edits, they can revert. I'd suggest you: (1) make your WP:BOLD ↗ removals and condensations and in your edit summary add "see talk page" and (2) explain on the talk page your rationale. Cheers! Capitalization
Will you tell me why the term is not capitalized? I also added content that is factual and provable. It was deleted. I think it is very important that the world knows Amy Kremer sent a letter in support of the confirmation of one our Supreme Court Justice's. It's a listed document on the U.S. COMMITTEE OF THE JUDICIARY website. EnlightenedIllusions (talk) 18:41, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
:Wikipedia has a Manual of Style ↗ which provides rules for capitalizations. The United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary ↗ page also does not have every letter in every word in caps. The committee itself might use the name in all caps on its letterhead, but that doesn't affect Wikipedia's presentation.
: As for the inclusion of the Amy Kremer letter, although it may be a fact that she wrote it, why does it merit inclusion on Lindsay Graham's page? You could try adding it to Amy Kremer ↗ but it's likely to be removed unless you have a secondary source for it (such as the Washington Post or New York Times reporting the letter). Officeholders have their staffs write and attach their names to hundreds of letters, so why is ''this particular letter'' notable and merit inclusion? <span style="border-radius:9em;padding:0 7px;background:black"><span style="color:white">'''BBQ'''</span></span>'''boffin'''<b style="color:#F00">grill me</b> 18:56, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

Blake Masters
You're removing sourced information from the lead and claiming it's a BLP violation. That's a blatant and transparent excuse for wanting to minimize sourced info that you find "negative" in Masters' article's lead. Talk it to talk, indeed. I think you'll find few editors sympathetic to a politician who hangs around with white supremacists. There are many articles that ID their subjects as white supremacists in the lead, and we're not even talking about that here. Fred Zepelin (talk) 03:52, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
:Per WP:LEDE ↗ we don't need inline sources there since it it supposed to summarize the article, and the source I "removed" is retained in the appropriate section. How to write the lede (and the rest of the article) in a dispassionate manner that accurately and fairly uses the sources is a discussion best had on the consensus talk page. <span style="border-radius:9em;padding:0 7px;background:black"><span style="color:white">'''BBQ'''</span></span>'''boffin'''<b style="color:#F00">grill me</b> 04:51, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
:: There's a talk page discussion, and you didn't initiate it. You haven't taken part in the talk page discussion that was initiated by another editor. You've continued to try to soften the well-documented support Masters has shown for white supremacists and other far-right fringe figures. What's your goal here? Fred Zepelin (talk) 20:05, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
:::I didn't create the discussion because the WP:ONUS ↗ is on the editor that wants to add the disputed content. When one was created, I responded herehttps://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk%3ABlake_Masters&diff=1210052247&oldid=1209921971 ↗ and you can see from the timestamp that my response predates your erroneous accusation above that I "haven't taken part in the talk page discussion", when in fact, I had. What is my goal here? My goal here is to build an encyclopedia in accordance with policy, and your edit appeared to me to be NPOV and BLP violations and to overstate what the sources say.
:::Also, I suggest you temper your expectations that editors will respond within hours to a discussion. Most of us, myself included, are busy IRL and we volunteer as our time allows. Let's go to the talk page and WP:FOC ↗, and in the coming days, weeks, months and indeed, WP:TENYEARS ↗ we'll see what consensus emerges about the content you want to see added. Cheers! <span style="border-radius:9em;padding:0 7px;background:black"><span style="color:white">'''BBQ'''</span></span>'''boffin'''<b style="color:#F00">grill me</b> 01:19, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Fred Zepelin. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, :Andrei Cherny ↗, but you didn't provide a reliable source ↗. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-unsourced1 --> Fred Zepelin (talk) 04:26, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
:As you are fully aware, I added content from a Fortune ↗ article written by Andrei Cherney ↗ who is the article subject. That his editorial was published in the magazine is significant to his biography, and I believe the content regarding his executive decision to set the minimum wage of his company to $25/hour that I added from the article was appropriate to improve the page, so I added it back, along with the original citation.

A word on edit summaries
Please read WP:REVTALK ↗: "Edit summaries are not for explaining every detail, writing essays about "the truth", or long-winded arguments with fellow editors. My first edit summary was: {{tq|The Fortune editorial is written by Cherny himself; he is the article subject, and so the inclusion is improves the biography. See talk page as this was a suggested addition by another editor.}} and then I make a correction with a second (dummy edit) to say: {{tq|Correction to my previous comment: the Fortune source was posted on the talk page by another editor, not the specific addition of the "minimum wage" content.}} I made a mistake with the first comment and so I wanted to quickly correct it so as not to misrepresent the other editor. <span style="border-radius:9em;padding:0 7px;background:black"><span style="color:white">'''BBQ'''</span></span>'''boffin'''<b style="color:#F00">grill me</b> 04:54, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

1953/Katie Porter
Saw you re-added ↗ these statements which I had removed for not reflecting the citations. Could you please clarify what citation you are using for '''"the first Democrat to represent the 45th district or its predecessors since it was created in 1953"'''?
I reviewed the two sources provided.
The closest I can find is: '''"it is smack in the middle of the once reliably conservative Orange County, in California’s Forty-fifth Congressional District, which has voted Republican since it was created, in the early nineteen-eighties"''' from the New Yorker citation.
ABC7 just notes that she is the first Democrat to hold the 45th district (which isn't particularly relevant without explanation since the district was Riverside based before redistricting).
Possible I'm missing something but I'm not seeing the verification on this? Dcpoliticaljunkie (talk) 13:01, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
:Thanks; I don't see 1953 in those sources either, but the districts do get redrawn, so someone could argue that the 1980's district isn't the same as the 1953 district. I just now added ↗ a David Lightman article from the Sacramento Beehttps://web.archive.org/web/20230508044658/https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/election/california-elections/article271425827.html ↗ to the page that says {{tq|Porter was elected to Congress in 2018 by defeating two-term incumbent Mimi Walters, the first time since the district was created in 1953 that a Democrat won.}} Cheers! <span style="border-radius:9em;padding:0 7px;background:black"><span style="color:white">'''BBQ'''</span></span>'''boffin'''<b style="color:#F00">grill me</b> 16:41, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
::Thanks! I do still find the date suspect. Looks like we had the 1953 date in the article for a while without a citation for it, so it seems likely that the Sacramento Bee article relied on Wikipedia so this might be a case of circular referencing. That said, California did gain 7 seats in 1950 redistricting including an Orange County, although why we would trace any of the 45th, 48th, 46th, 47th, or 49th specifically to that seat is beyond me (they all flipped ↗). Dcpoliticaljunkie (talk) 19:02, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
:::The page used to say the predecessor district in 1953 was the 28th, but the statement was unsourced. I'm not a stickler for the 1953 date; you could change it to 1982 which would match the California%27s_45th_congressional_district ↗ page. But Porter's historic flipping (and holding) of the deep red seat is noted by many sources, and I think it's of biographical importance to include on her page as well as being lede-worthy. <span style="border-radius:9em;padding:0 7px;background:black"><span style="color:white">'''BBQ'''</span></span>'''boffin'''<b style="color:#F00">grill me</b> 19:33, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
::::It does seem as if her district is the descendant of the 28th although that's just individual research at this point. I think focusing on the flip of a seat in a deep-red county rather than a detailed discussion of the seat's ancestry is the way to go here. Might take a stab at this later. <s>Pl look again at your revert of my edit, which consisted solely of adding 2 x "not a typo" templates i plain text. I can't see that these affect any list. Tim Sheehy Updates
Hi BBQboffin, you've helped improve the Tim Sheehy ↗ article a lot, and I appreciated your feedback on his legislative activities. :Thanks; frankly, I was hoping an editor with more experience with military service and awards would input the material, as I'm unsure how more weight should be given to that as it's already a large component of the article. <span style="border-radius:9em;padding:0 7px;background:black"><span style="color:white">'''BBQ'''</span></span>'''boffin'''<b style="color:#F00">grill me</b> 04:42, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
::Hi {{u|BBQboffin}}, I appreciate this. Talk:Tim_Sheehy ↗ doesn't seem to get much traffic and you have been involved in editing there in the past, so it seemed logical to reach out to you first. I hear your concern. I tried to base my request on the weight given in the sourcing. Perhaps going through those briefly could help inform your decision? To me they do seem to paint the Navy as a significant part of Sheehy's life and career. I did a bit of browsing now through relevant categories on Wikipedia as well, and it does seem that biographies' military career sections tend to include things like rank, awards, and places served, if that's helpful. Thanks again for your time on this. Clarkfork79 (talk) 16:15, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

Sarah Saltzberg ↗
I'm 2 degrees of separation from the subject, so I'm not getting involved with either a Prod2 or Deprod, but I did alert the Theater project. Bearian (talk) 01:31, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
:Thanks! <span style="border-radius:9em;padding:0 7px;background:black"><span style="color:white">'''BBQ'''</span></span>'''boffin'''<b style="color:#F00">grill me</b> 16:41, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
::Hi @BBQboffin, I have deproded this article as the subject was profiled by the NYT in 2018https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/10/realestate/brokers-with-a-song-and-dance.html ↗ and she's been a significant contributor to several shows on and off-Broadway in addition to ''Spelling Bee'', which are well covered in the press. You're welcome to bring it to AfD, of course. <span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS; padding: 1px 1px 1px 1px;">—BrechtBro (talk)</span> 18:29, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
:::Wow, thanks for adding that NYT source to the article! She looks notable to me based on that. Halloween Martin ↗
Thanks your interest on the talk page notes for Halloween Martin ↗, but I think you misunderstood the problem. Leona Alford Malek ↗ worked at the same company as Martin. That’s not OR. What would be OR is to call her a mentor. Also, Prudence Penny is already linked. It is not OR to add a notable co-worker who worked in the same industry to an article. The see also section can be used to point readers to related topics as well as a holding pen for links that need to be merged into the body. Nothing remotely OR here. Viriditas (talk) 19:47, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
:I self-reverted my edit in the See Also section. You make a good argument that since we're not making any direct claim that Malek was the particular Prudence Penny (it seems much more likely than not, of course) it is OK to include the link. <span style="border-radius:9em;padding:0 7px;background:black"><span style="color:white">'''BBQ'''</span></span>'''boffin'''<b style="color:#F00">grill me</b> 20:11, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
::No worries. I understand what happened now. The adding of the link triggered a message on your end because you had it on your watchlist as the primary contributor to that article. I didn't know that before. The article is somewhat new, so I will either end up deleting the links entirely or merging them into the body if I can find sources. Viriditas (talk) 20:33, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
