Piped links on disambiguation pages

I noticed and reverted some obviously good-faith changes you made to Matthew ↗. In this case, Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(disambiguation_pages)#Piping_and_redirects ↗ states that piped links can be appropriate in order to create italics— not, of course, to change anything else about the appearance, of course. —&nbsp;<font style="color: black; font-style: italic;">'''Chromancer'''</font>&nbsp;<font color="black">talk</font> ↗/<font color="black">cont</font> ↗ 10:33, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

L'Arche Link Issue

I understand why the link to "L'Arche Atlantic Region (Canada)" was removed, since it belongs to a localised wing of the L'Arche organization. But why would you remove the link to L'Arche International (www.larche.org)? None of the organizations currently listed as External Links in the Developmental disability article (with the possible exception of the IASSID) have the international scope of L'Arche, so your concerns about L'Arche being "too localised" are mystifying to me. Worldwide, L'Arche is one of the most significant organizations serving persons with developmental disabilities. Aside from having homes and programs in the U.S. and Canada, it operates in over 35 other countries (and counting)! In my opinion, adding the L'Arche International link would be a welcome addition to a list of links that is currently far too limited in scope.Njodonnell (talk) 15:15, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the message at the talk page; it did get a lot of discussions about the piece itself. It was high time for archiving the page, so I did that and added a "not a forum" template in the process - hopefully it will help.

Siouxsie and the Banshees

I read your comment. In fact, most of their studio albums were released under the banner Siouxsie "AND"... So it would be more relevant to make "AND" appear instead of "&". Let me know if you can make the change.

Wolf Brother

Thanks, I was shocked to see what bad condition the page is in! I will be working on it over the next few days untill it is in alot better condition. But I must ask, can you help me with the page? The page needs ALOT of work and im afraid i wont be able to fix it up myself. If you want to help please let me know! I need to work on EACH of the COAD books and they are all in very bad condition. I will also be making an entirley new wikipedia page for the list of all the charcters in the series. I need all the help i can get! D: (Moviedude346 (talk) 18:02, 21 August 2010 (UTC))

Thanks. And no, I havent the slightest clue, but I can check the chronicles offical "wiki" for you. In the meantime, can you please start cleaning up Spirit Walkers wikipedia page? Im hoping i will be done with Wolf Brother by the end of today. Spirit Walker, Soul Eater, Outcast, Oath Breaker, Ghost Hunter, then the COAD's wikipedia page, THEN Michelle Pavers wikipedia page. Thats alot of cleaning up D: (Moviedude346 (talk) 17:49, 22 August 2010 (UTC))

Re: Spirit Walker. Thanks a bunch. I have been using the wikpedia page for the 1st harry potter book as the template for Wolf Brother, so you can use the second HP book as a template. Unfortunatly COAD isnt as big as Harry Potter so there is no way the COAD pages will ever be as big and informal as the HP pages. (Moviedude346 (talk) 20:49, 22 August 2010 (UTC))

I have made alot more tweeks to Wolf Brother and spirit walker. please correct my terrible spelling and grammar like you always do D: (Moviedude346 (talk) 01:41, 24 August 2010 (UTC))

Do you know how old Torak is by the end of Ghost Hunter? ''Wolf Brother'' took place over the course of two months and then ''Spirit Walker'' takes place six months after Wolf Brother. I am re reading the series as I clean up each page and Im half way through Spirit Walker. When im done with spirit walker i will offically begin the cleaning up of that page. Do you know how much time passes throughout the entire series? In the beginning torak is twelve but how old is he at the very end? (Moviedude346 (talk) 06:17, 27 August 2010 (UTC))

==Italian Renaissance painting==
I reverted your edit and I'm just letting you know the reason. Generally articles in the "see also" section are may be fairly loosely related to the main topc, but in this case, the articles about themes in Renaissance painting is tightly linked to the main. It expands upon and illustrates the Main topic in a way that is too lengthy to be done in a single article.

As for its presence in the See also list, I am of the opinion that all the relevant articles ought to be there, even if they are linked under a Subheading as a Main. It's better to have two links to an important article than have readers unable to find what they want. That See Also list ought to be an invaluable asset to the reader, but often the most important links have been removed by someone who has noticed that a link has been made twice. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion ↗). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was <code>true</code>. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to <code>false</code> in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is '''a workaround available ↗''' involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR ↗). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:14, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Talkpage deletion

Heyo; I've just repeatedly deleted and undeleted your talkpage to include the content found at Talk:Live in Bonn ↗, which was created when you evidently accidentally moved your talkpage there. Now fixed. Ironholds (talk) 18:05, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of content

When removing links to deleted pages, delete the bracketing, but please don't delete content, as you did at Primeval ↗ and other pages, when you removed "<nowiki>by Impossible Pictures ↗</nowiki>" in toto.http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Primeval&action=historysubmit&diff=448045858&oldid=447352440 ↗ Please also note that even though you have nominated something for deletion, it's not guaranteed to be deleted, so deleting links to the page is premature and shouldn't be done, as you have done with links to {{tl|Impossible Pictures}}.http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Walking_with_Dinosaurs&action=historysubmit&diff=448044785&oldid=447912234 ↗http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Walking_with...&diff=prev&oldid=448047242 ↗This edit summary ↗ is actually misleading because the page was NOT deleted at the time you removed the link and in fact wasn't even prodded until 22 minutes later. Leaving the links active alerts readers of the articles to the fact that the template ''is'' proposed for deletion. --AussieLegend (talk) 16:39, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

I have restored and revised the Impossible Pictures ↗ article. So please do delete related links to that article or related template unless and until it is deleted again. Barsoomian (talk) 18:15, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of University Radio Falmer page

I am curious as to why you would - as you stated in the deletion request Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/University Radio Falmer ↗ - consider University Radio Falmer ↗ not notable enough for it's own page. It is one of the oldest student radio stations in the UK that is still active today, both online and on DAB in Brighton, and boasts a selection of successful alumni. I would consider it to be deserving of it's own wikipedia page especially as so many student radio stations in the UK have their own page. I understand the station is in the process of updating their online presence and redesigning their website, I imagine the page will be updated and corrected within the next week. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned ↗ comment added by Yorkshiremikey (talkcontribs ↗) 17:09, 5 October 2017 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Reason for removing the page Maldhari

This community of people are not a tribe. They are the group of people that were actively used to participate in the same field of activity which existed in the past.During Pre-Independence era, the people of this community used to do activites of herding of animals and farming the land in Gujarat, India. As the time passed and Industrial revolution happened in India. People stopped doing these actvities and the title "Maldhari" was dropped from their names to give them equal importance that the people of other communities like Patels, Yadavas, Rajputs, Brahmins, etc. Now, castism and communism are being totally on the verge of extinction in India these words like "Maldhari", "Dalits", "Shudras", etc are banned. Yes, you can't use the "N" word for African-Americans, same way you can't use Maldhari to describe these tribe's people. It's so offensive and has already created so much violence amongst them whem interacting with another community of people in India.

And if you don't use the "N" word on wikipedia to describe African-Americans, you shouldn't use "Maldhari" to describe these group of people. Even they oppose this word and have done so many rallies and social movements to eradicate these identity of "Untouchables" which translates in Hindi as "Maldhari".

Now, if this page stays on wikipedia, you can figure out how much it would hurt their feelings and their social status level. I, being a person from Yaduvanshi lineage, which was considered as the Royal Community in pre-independence India while i don't believe in superior DNA kind of things cuz they were just to create wars between people, i do feel bad for Maldhari's social status. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned ↗ comment added by Yash Ahir (talkcontribs ↗) 14:07, 20 November 2017 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

A VERY belated thanks

Hi! I was just going through some of my ''very'' old edits to track down some information, and I happened upon these messages ↗ that you and I exchanged a terrifying '''11''' years ago. At the time I didn't really know how anything worked here and for all but the most gnomish ↗ edits I would just push my opinion on a talk page. So I would like to offer my ''extremely'' belated thanks for you actually reading my message and pushing through the edits I suggested. Excellent editing, and it's great to see that you're still here building the encyclopedia! - Astrophobe (talk)

Thank you from the future!

Boowa and Kwala ↗

Why on earth have you suggested that Boowa and Kwala should be deleted ?
TV series that was shown on terrestrial TV around the world... DVD release in the US.
There are literally millions of (now grown up) kids who saw this in the noughties who are potentially interested.
Please do take the time to have a look on YouTube for the hundreds of videos of kids watching Boowa and Kwala... and then remember that YouTube only started in 2005 and these characters had peaked at 5 million visits a month at that time.
Having 5 million visits a month in 2005 is a big deal.
Having a TV series produced by ITV (UK) is a big deal.
The fact that you personally are too young / didn't see the TV series ... or simply weren't a fan is neither here nor there.

I see you are busy in Real_life ↗ (your link, not mine).
Strangely enough, me too. But it is important that I defend this article much more than I defended my own.
This article may need editing, and i am happy to help, but it should not be deleted.

Despite both our real life constraints... happy to discuss with you

~dom Kaos~
Thanks for the reply on my talk page. Have followed your advice.
And I apologise for the comment about real life - unfair on my part.

Grizzly

I didn't revert your edit, but just want to clarify that sequels can and are in fact mentioned in the top paragraph of a movie's page that is the first installment or later installment that also spawns a sequel. There's plenty of film articles with their sequels mentioned at the top of the page early on that I have came across, so this is not an usual thing to change whenever you see it. - DevonteHuntley (talk) 08:17, 9 January 2021

Clearing up after page move

Please remember that if you move a page to create a disambiguation page, you should tidy up all the incoming links which are then broken.

At present there are a lot of incoming links to Ben Norris ↗ which used to lead neatly to the artist but now link to the disambiguation page. It looks as if most of them are from {{tl|Hawaiian Art}}, where I've disambiguated the name. There are still a few to update ↗. Please check up on these and modify the links as appropriate. Thanks. <span style="color: green">'''''Pam'''''</span><span style="color: brown">'''''D'''''</span> 21:04, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
