Hi, I would strongly urge you to reconsider your closure here - a move request that was open for all of two hours cannot by definition be uncontested with minimal participation as two hours is simply not sufficient for other editors to participate. <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 23:09, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from The goat with a horn on his head (17:27, 14 April 2026)

Hello there. I want to create an article about a school I know, but I am having trouble finding sources that Wikipedia supports. the best I can find is the schools social media page and the people from the school. How do I list sources from people from the school? What are some things worth noting about making a page?
Thanks.

The Goat With a Horn on Its Head --The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 17:27, 14 April 2026 (UTC)

:Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia. If you can't find any sources for a school, then it likely does not follow Wikipedia's criteria for an article to exist ↗ (known as "notability"). For something to be notable, it needs to have multiple independent ↗ (not affiliated with the school), reliable sources ↗ (published material like news and books) which cover the subject in depth ↗.
:If you do want to make a page, check that it is notable before you start writing about it. Useful links:
:* Wikipedia:The answer to life, the universe, and everything ↗ – a summary of the notability guidelines
:* Wikipedia:Your first article ↗ – a step-by-step process to creating articles
:* Wikipedia:Writing Wikipedia articles backward ↗ – an essay explaining a common mistake first-time article writers make which makes article-writing much harder.
:Hopefully those are helpful, and happy editing! &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 18:26, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
::wow, you are such a good wikipedian, responding so fast. Thanks for all of this. Some more questions here and there. Would this count as a source, how could I make some writing on a book from the school's 1st principal in the schools library that's nowhere on the web a source, and is it true that some sources can come from peoples experience? How do you save your draft when you are making a page, I don't want to Risk losing it like last time. Thanks The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 00:10, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
:::also can you give a list of all of the notable rules that a person would need to know if he was gonna know all of the rules? sorry for the lots of questions, there's also to know. :) The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 00:13, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
::::i meant a lot not also. The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 00:14, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
:::Yes, you can use a book even if it doesn't exist online. See Wikipedia:Offline sources ↗.
:::Generally for notability, you can more or less just use the definition of "significant coverage by multiple independent reliable sources", as a base gauge for something. However, there are subject-specific notability guidelines ({{section link|Wikipedia:Notability|Subject-specific notability guidelines}}), which have more specific criteria, e.g. the notability guidelines for schools ↗. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 07:00, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
::::How do you save your draft when you are making a page, I don't want to Risk losing it like last time. Thanks The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 16:20, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::If you are writing a page for the first time, I would suggest using the Article Wizard ↗, which guides you through the process and creates an article in the draft namespace. After that, you can press "Publish", and it will be saved as a draft until you submit it for creation. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 16:36, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
::::::oh, i thought publishing made it for public access, not it being saved, thanks. The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 17:12, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::::The "Publish" button does make it public in the sense that anyone can see it, but if you're working on a draft article, it's not considered a "real" article, so it won't show up in search engines etc, and people will only find it if they type in the specific page name, or look at the history of your edits. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 17:34, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello is there anyone who can help build my page thank you. --Belo Lionel Brescia (talk) 09:10, 16 April 2026 (UTC)

:Hello! I can't help you write an article, but I can answer any questions you have about Wikipedia. If you are writing an article about yourself (something which is advised against, but you appear to have read the relevant guidelines), make sure you don't write it on your user page ↗, as that's not a place for encyclopedic content. Can I Write About Myself and Others? --Natha Pee (talk) 12:02, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from The goat with a horn on his head

I recently read this part of the page ↗ that leads to believe that Wikipedia is not a pornography site, and there may be a page ↗ (image blocking tool advised) that does not follow this rule, considering the general population avoids pornographic images. the page excessively shows photographs of penises (8 of them) and the solution to the problem could be to have a page before the target page to say "The material this article provides may be inappropriate for you for the following reason(s)," and it list potential reasons that it may or may not be offensive. this could be added to many potentially offensive articles. I don't know if the solution violates the "Wikipedia is not Censored" policy, but this may help young users whose parents may not allow for the pornograpic images. did I ask the right person to report this page and to suggest the idea that I had? only actions can prove this question. thanks and I hope you become an administrator.

The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 19:54, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

:Hello! As you noted, Wikipedia is not censored ↗, so we won't be adding any disclaimers to that article, just like there are none on any other article about sex-related topics or human body parts. If you think the article over-uses explicit images in an unencyclopedic manner, or where fewer images would suffice, you can bring it up on the article talk page ↗. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 20:10, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

Syrian civil war

Hi GearsDatapacks

Thanks for your close at Talk:Syrian Civil War ↗, but I have to say I’m rather puzzled by it. Your close states that "consensus here seems to be that most reliable sources capitalise it", yet no evidence was presented demonstrating that. The Ngram data ↗ appears quite clear that "Syrian civil war" has been the predominant form in book sources since the conflict began, and I also listed numerous media sources using lower case.

MOS:CAPS ↗ and WP:NCCAPS ↗ indicate that we capitalise terms only where a substantial majority of reliable sources do so. As discussions like this are WP:NOTAVOTE ↗, consensus should be based on policy and sourcing rather than headcount alone. There have also been numerous past discussions on this, with the title stable since 2016 and the most recent discussion at Talk:Syrian Civil War/Archive 50#Requested move 17 July 2023 ↗ - there's nothing that appears to me to suggest something has fundamentally changed compared with all the others.

Would you be willing to reconsider the close in light of that? This is also a contentious topic, so getting the policy basis right matters.

Cheers &nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;Amakuru (talk) 09:57, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

:Hello!
:I apologise, re-reading the discussion I agree that I probably closed it wrongly. I understand that it's not a vote, and I did consider the arguments being made, but for some reason I misread it as most sources using the capitalised version, rather than the other way around. I'll reopen the discussion. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 10:06, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from The goat with a horn on his head (20:35, 29 April 2026)

Hello again. Just wondering, can you suggest ways I can improve my draft for the article I am working on? This is the link, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Twin_Lakes_elementary I totally understand if you don't have the time. The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 20:35, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
:Hello! Looking at your draft, your main issue is sources. You currently have one cited source and that appears to be a document owned by the school. Articles don't get accepted unless they are notable ↗, meaning they are backed up by reliable ↗, independent sources ↗. If you can't find, e.g. news articles written about the school, it is likely not notable and you should look for a different topic to write about. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 21:26, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
::Ok then, but is there a way to go around this to add the bell schedule using the offline sources method? Also I edited the draft a bit more,so take a look and maybe put some invisible messages around the text for some suggestions you had in mind.
::Thanks The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 23:09, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
:::Firstly, you don't need to use offline sources necessarily. Most newspapers are hosted on the internet now, which doesn't make them any less reliable than a print magazine.
:::For the bell schedule, you probably shouldn't include it. It's not useful to the average encyclopedia reader; the only people who would find its inclusion helpful is students at the school, who presumably already have access to it through other means (e.g. the cited google doc).
:::You might want to look at some good articles ↗ about schools to see an idea of what they contain and how they are structured. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 07:07, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
::::I have looked at some good articles, like this one ↗, and have tried to mirror them, but I have found trouble getting sources from other then the one newspaper ↗ I have found, the schools website, Homes.com ↗, and the schools office for the principles as I live close by. Homes.com has a lot of information on the topic but it's too much information all at once, so how would you sort all of this information out?
::::The schools boundaries change a lot too, and It would probably get out of date having to change it every year, a way to fix this?
::::I would also like to know how to properly upload pictures of the school, I already know they have to have a Wikipedia Commons license.
::::I also would like to know, what would be the things you would be looking for reviewing an article like this?
::::And one more thing, what requirements do you need to in order to be an admin? You seem like a good candidate.
::::Thanks for your continuous help, The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 16:18, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::If you can't find any sources, your school is likely not notable ↗, and you should find something else to write about.<br> I'm not an AFC reviewer ↗, but the main thing is that a) the article is notable and has multiple reliable sources talking about it, and b) that every claim in the article is accurately sourced. Currently, the draft passes neither of those criteria so it would almost certainly be declined. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 17:25, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
::::::So when will you become an administrator? The elections are on may, and you qualify the requirement of being an Extended-Confirmed user. Also the call for candidates started yesterday and ends may 5th, more information here ↗. I'm excited for you. The goat with a horn on his head (talk) 17:39, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::::I don't plan on running for admin just yet, but maybe in the future. I still feel I need some more experience, and don't necessarily need the administrator tools at the moment. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 17:40, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from MtdigitalTV (21:26, 6 May 2026)

Hi, I'm trying to improve the Digital television page. After going around and around the last week or so with an editor deleting my edits in bulk because he thought I had a COI, I almost gave up out of frustration but because I really want to see this page improved, I disclosed a potential COI on my user page with an in-depth explanation. Then, I went back to the digital television page and instead of posting edits within the actual article/page, I went to the talk page and proposed a new subject disclosing my potential COI again upfront, and then proposed some substantive edits, trying to bring in one or more other editors to discuss, and hopefully weigh in on these proposed edits in order to improve the digital television page. Can you please look at what I just described and see if it makes sense and whether I did it correctly? Thank you! --MtdigitalTV (talk) 21:26, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
:Yep, looks like you did the right thing in posting the suggested edit on the talk page. A couple things I'd note about your request though:
:* I would use the {{tlx|Edit COI}} template at the top, as that puts in in a queue of COI requested edits (albeit a long one) and makes it more likely to be reviewed.
:* In order to maximise your chance of your request being accepted, I would try to cut down the request as much as possible, including removing the COI disclosure at the top. Just saying you have a COI is enough info for anyone.
:* If possible, I would recommend you add web links to your citations where the information is online. It's very hard to verify the claims with no information on how to find the sources.
:* The way you've currently written the proposed additions doesn't feel like quite the correct encyclopedic style that Wikipedia uses. You've gone into quite a lot of detail that probably isn't needed (you want to be summarising ↗ the most important information from sources). You've also used quite a few of the words to watch ↗, which is generally an indicator of non-neutral writing ↗.
:Hopefully that helps! &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 21:42, 6 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from UnnameableMedia (15:32, 14 May 2026)

Help me get these people to stop nuking my updates.. I added a massive amount of local history and because i reformatted the entire page with Ai instead of adding edits to each section manually every single edit i did was removed. Im adding local historical information.. Not general Ai scraped nonsense. --UnnameableMedia (talk) 15:32, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
:Hello! I suggest you stop using AI to make edits as AI is not allowed on Wikipedia ↗. I would also strongly caution you to remain calm and refrain from attacking or threatening other editors as that is certainly not helping your case. What if the name of the article is mentioned on another article, does that help in the submission? --Lilian Zera (talk) 22:54, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
:Hello! In general no, notability ↗ is only proven by multiple reliable sources ↗ which cover the subject in detail ↗. However, appearing in an article can suggest notability, as it means at least one source ''mentioned'' the subject, and the source may go on to cover the subject in depth, contributing to notability. Talk:Rainmaking (ritual) ↗

Hi, sorry but I think a WP:BARTENDER ↗'s close would've been better here. AFAICT (not withstanding I'm involved) there's consensus for Rainmaking (ritual) ↗ --> Rainmaking, weak support for Rainmaking ↗ --> Pluviculture (pending a possible AfD), and then a closer's choice between the two options for Rain prayer ↗ Kowal2701 (talk, contribs ↗) 17:20, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
:That's fair. The Rain prayer ↗ article wasn't discussed except for the one person who proposed the alternative, so it's hard to evaluate whether there's actual consensus there. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 21:02, 21 May 2026 (UTC)

Good day! I can't figure out how to edit tables like the Chairperson section in the UP Diliman University Student Council page. --Whisperofcries (talk) 13:07, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
:Hello! Editing tables is one of the trickier things to do on Wikipedia; if you're using the visual editor, you can double click on a table cell to edit its content, or click on the arrow next to a row or column (after you've selected a cell within that row/column) to insert, move, or delete rows and columns. Talk:Northstar (band)#Requested move 18 May 2026 ↗

Sorry, but where's the consensus not to move? Three support and two oppose is hardly consensus to oppose! -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:53, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
:Consensus is not a vote ↗. In the discussion I see one "Support" !vote that discusses pageview data, which is not really relevant to the discussion, and one which just says "per nom". On the other hand, the arguments against the move explain their position and cite policies to back up their arguments. To me, the arguments presented are enough to determine consensus. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#125;&#125; 11:12, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
::I'm aware it's not a vote, but considering all parties have given rationales you seem to be employing a supervote here. Saying "per nom" just means I entirely agree with the nomination, which is a perfectly valid opinion and should not be discounted as you appear to have done. And I fail to see why Crouch's comment was not relevant. It was entirely relevant. It was pointing out that neither was more notable per pageviews and the disambiguation was insufficient as both are bands. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:16, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
:::I didn't discount your argument, or that of the nominator or Crouch, Swale. From what I gathered:
:::* The arguments in favour of moving are that the two articles exist and have a similar number of pageviews.
:::* The arguments against moving are that there are already hatnotes in place, and that WP:NCBAND ↗ (which is an official guideline) dictates that these are to use separate disambiguators and that they are already sufficiently distinct.
:::{{pb}}I deemed that the latter argument was stronger (given that it was rooted in Wikipedia guidelines), so I closed it as not moved. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 12:31, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from ArcturusNotTaurus (10:55, 6 June 2026)

Dear mentor: it took me only a few weeks before I encountered a potential editorial war. I do not want engage into, thus I am asking for your advice.
The articcle in question is : https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:Pascal_Lottaz&action=history .

User Grapesurgeon moved page Pascal Lottaz to Draft:Pascal Lottaz without leaving a redirect: Not ready for mainspace, incubate in draftspace. Reason/s: more sources needed .

Being used to the US legal system, I find such remark "arbitrary and capricious" (see Standard of review ↗ for definition). The number of cited sources is comparable to the numbers in the articles about other International Relations professors (e.g. Steven Walt ↗). I do not want to start a fight with Grapesurgeon. I'd rather place this draft for a discussion. How can I do it? --ArcturusNotTaurus (talk) 10:55, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

:Hello! I don't really have time to look through the article, but I'll tell you some things that you can do. Firstly, the raw number of sources doesn't matter so much, it's more about the quality of the sources (i.e. are they reliable ↗ and independent ↗?), and the extent to which they support the claims made in the article. Is if you have a shorter article, you'll generally need fewer sources. Wikipedia requires every claim to be backed up by a reliable source ↗.
:My suggested next steps for you are to either: message Grapesurgeon directly at User talk:grapesurgeon, and ask them to clarify exactly why they moved it back to draftspace, or submit it through articles for creation ↗, where someone else will review it and decide whether it's ready for mainspace.
:Hopefully that helps! Let me know if you have other questions. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 12:33, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

:Hello! I will say though, it will probably be easier to start writing a new article once you have a bit of experience editing existing ones, so consider trying some easier tasks before jumping straight into article writing. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 15:21, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

::::HI! I have tried to make a start, but the sandbox looks different to the tutorials I have been watching. The citation button doesn't have a drop down menu. I have just done the introduction so I can await further feedback. Also, how do I add photos? There are lot freely available on line and I know they need to be credited, but I'm not sure about this either as I can't claim ownership can I ? Or does it come under the creative commons on here? I downloaded one but I wasn't sure how to proceed. I would appreciate our advice!
::::Thank you Sparklyamanda (talk) 11:09, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::Hmm, I'm not sure about the differences in the editing menu. As far as I know, userspace pages have the exact same editing interface as mainspace articles. Is it possible you were watching an old video from a previous Wikipedia interface? The design has changed somewhat over the years.{{pb}}As for photos, you will need to upload them to Wikimedia Commons ↗. If you are upload photos that you didn't take yourself, you need to make sure that they are released under a Creative Commons license ↗ (one which allows both commercial use and modification), or a similarly compatible license. The commons upload wizard ↗ guides you through the process. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 11:16, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::Oh, it's also possible that you were using the source editor ↗ instead of the visual editor ↗, which was likely used in the video. Question from ArcturusNotTaurus (20:22, 12 June 2026)

Dear Mentor: I have databases about many subjects hosted on EndNote ↗ platform. EndNote can create reference list in many output styles ↗, but not in Wikipedia-style. They can create such style for free, but they need an official request from Wikipedia itself (not from me) to do this. Can you figure out a solution to this problem or get a Higher Authority to get involved into this project? --ArcturusNotTaurus (talk) 20:22, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hello! I'm just a volunteer editor like everyone else on this platform so I don't have any more authority than you. You can try to contact the Wikimedia Foundation ↗, but won't necessarily get any useful results.<br> The Wikipedia visual editor ↗ allows automatic generation of Wikipedia citations and understands various different formats, so that's probably the easiest way to go about this. I believe BibTex ↗ is supported, though I'm not totally sure. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 21:14, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Sparklyamanda (19:17, 14 June 2026)

HI, I am happy with my article and I have published it in my sandbox. I am still doing other edits so that my 'Jordan Sangha' article can get published live more quickly.
Can you advise me of my next step please? It is showing that I have made more than 10 edits on my home page, so I am not sure if / when / how I can move my article to another space to get it reviewed/ approved more quickly. I will continue to make other edits but can you tell me the fastest way to get my article live please? Thank you --Sparklyamanda (talk) 19:17, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

:Hello! If you've submitted through AFC, there's not really anything to do but wait I'm afraid. If you're autoconfirmed ↗ then you can move ↗ the article to mainspace, but for your first article, especially if you don't have much prior editing experience, I would recommend waiting to get it reviewed by someone more experienced. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 20:48, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
:What's AFC? I've created it in the sandbox and published it ... is that the right thing to do? Thank you &#126;2026-34973-91 ↗ (talk) 20:57, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
::Oh, it's articles for creation ↗, the process by which new users submit articles to be published. If you have something sitting in your sandbox without submitting it for review, people won't touch it as it's generally considered polite not to touch userspace pages from other users (unless they're violating Wikipedia policy). &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 21:15, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
:::Ok that's great. It's finished , and I pressed publish . So do I need to move it now? I thought publishing it meant others could see it.
:::if I move it, where am I moving it too? I don't want to lose it!
:::thank you
:::amanda &#126;2026-34973-91 ↗ (talk) 05:58, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
::::You are correct that others can see it - anyone can in fact - however, it's still a user page ↗, which means it won't get indexed by search engines and can't be linked to by other articles in the encyclopedia. Once it's ready, you can move it to "mainspace", which is where proper articles live.
::::As to the title, it should be a minimal identification of the subject of the article. So for a person, it would be their name.
::::Please note, if you have a conflict of interest ↗ with the subject, you '''must''' disclose that and go through AFC, you can't publish it directly. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 07:00, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::Thank you. I do not have a conflict of interest with him so that's ok. So shall I just move it to the main space? Could you advise me how please? Sparklyamanda (talk) 17:15, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
::::::To move an article, you go to the "Tools" menu, then select "Move", and enter the title you want to move to. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 17:23, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::::that seems too easy! I'm scared!
:::::::so when I move it, is it live? and how do I edit it and add to it? I already have more information about his recent work.
:::::::When can I search for it on the main encyclopedia page and let people know it is there?
:::::::Thank you, I'm doing it now. I am happy with it, I just want it to be live now. Sparklyamanda (talk) 17:34, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
::::::::Once you move it to mainspace, it's part of the encyclopedia. It needs to be reviewed by a new page reviewer to determine whether it meets Wikipedia's core content policies before it is indexed by search engines. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 17:41, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::oh thank you. I can see it has gone from my sandbox which is now a redirect page.
:::::::::I got a message saying i need to clean up but I don't think I have to do anything ? I don't have a sort category on my page and I haven't changed anything on my sandbox links.
:::::::::So presuming it meets the criteria, how long does the article take to get reviewed? I am hoping it does as I have sources and linked everything. Do I get a notification message or email or do I just need to keep checking in on wikipedia to see if it is there?
:::::::::THank you Sparklyamanda (talk) 18:00, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
::{{outdent|7}} You should get a notification when someone reviews it. There's no set timeframe, as reviewers don't review articles in any particular order. Respected Sir,

Can you tell me about rulesand regulations about writing an article on wiki --Akshayjangra5897 (talk) 05:19, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia. There are a lot of policies and guidelines regarding editing, too many to list here, but the main ones you need to know about are known as the core content policies ↗, which are the bare minimum for articles. These are neutral point of view ↗, verifiability ↗, and no original research ↗.<br> If you follow those, as well as making sure to remain civil ↗ and assume good faith ↗ when interacting with other users on the wiki, you'll likely pick up the other rules about editing along the way. &#123;&#123;GearsDatapacks&#124;talk&#124;contribs ↗&#124;in solidarity ↗&#125;&#125; 06:38, 27 June 2026 (UTC)

Page mover granted

Hello, GearsDatapacks. Your account has been <span class="plainlinks">granted ↗</span> the "{{mono|extendedmover}}" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages ↗. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect ↗ and move subpages ↗ when moving the parent page(s).

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover ↗ for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect ↗. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures ↗ and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when <code>suppressredirect</code> is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere ↗. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password ↗. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked ↗.

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! <!-- Template:Page mover granted -->Extraordinary Writ (talk) 04:29, 28 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from JeniPanic (21:54, 30 June 2026)

Heya, is there something Wikipedia editors usually use for library/newspaper-database access? I’m looking for contemporary coverage of a South Korean building collapse from the 90s, but a lot of archives are paywalled.

Also, is there anything you’d recommend for journal access given that Sci-hub kind of sucks now? I heard if you make 500 edits across 6 months you get access to the Wikipedia Library. Should I minmax edits with this goal in mind and save more ambitious research for later? What’s the culture/strat around this? Ty. --JeniPanic (talk) 21:54, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

Hi, GearsDatapacks. You are cordially invited to the brand new Wikipedia:Mentorship noticeboard ↗. I get the impression sometimes that we mentors are each toiling in our own cubbyhole or hamster wheel, quietly answering mentee questions with little to no interaction with other mentors.
