Your recent edit about DeepL
Hi IgelRM!
You recently edited the DeepL article, and unfortunately put in incorrect information about "Frahlinger".
You falsely claim that "Frahlinger resigned as CEO and became lead researcher in July 2019, he had recently got attention for successfully requesting media to delete his public relations photos." This is not true, and also not at all supported by the source (Uepo-Article) you give for your claim. Probably your claim is based on another single web-article from a single private person (not an official publication), who blackmailed F with wrong statements.
Please remove these claims, since these are wrong statements about a natural person, and not at all supported by any reliable sources. 84.247.216.86 ↗ (talk) 11:38, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
:Hi, I have replied on the article talk page ↗. IgelRM (talk) 13:14, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
::{{u|84.247.216.86}} Addendum here since this is not related to the WP article: I remember reading an article about a legal dispute from an editor of a web magazine (which might be the one you are referring to?), but I reject that I would intentionally try to conflate information from another source into a WP article. I just saw the rather bad spelling mistake of "F" last name, apologies for that since you might be related to the company. Seems like not many people are looking over the article unfortunately (which alleviates errors on an amateur encyclopedia like this). IgelRM (talk) 18:43, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from :Eidos Interactive ↗ into :Square Enix ↗. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing ↗ does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary ↗ at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking ↗ to the copied page, e.g., <code>copied content from <nowiki>page name ↗</nowiki>; see that page's history for attribution</code>. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{tl|copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. Hello, IgelRM,
I'd like to encourage you to try out Twinkle ↗, an editing tool, to use any time you tag a page for any type of deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/RFD/MFD/etc.). It has many useful features and is very easy to use. Most importantly, once you set up your Twinkle Preferences to "Notify page creator", Twinkle will post a notification of a deletion tagging on the User talk page of the article creator which is an important step in the deletion process. Twinkle will also help set up a deletion discussion, allow you to report vandals or tag problems you see on an article, post warnings or welcomes to User pages, even maintain a log for you of pages you've tagged for deletion. Many of our admins and amost all of new page patrollers use it because it is very intuitive. It basically knows all of the templates you may need so you don't have to remember them or go and search for the appropriate one. Give a try! Removal of "indie"
I think you better look to get consensus for mass removing "indie" from game pages. I would not call the term "undefinable", but it should be used when sources have called a game indie. I know the mess around "Dave the Diver" is one thing, but there's games there that are clear indie examples that you have removed. This might be best to ask at the VG project. M<span style="font-variant: small-caps">asem</span> (t ↗) 02:42, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
:Thanks for reaching out. I tried to stay safe by only going for use in lead sentence as genre prefix, so generally I shouldn't have removed "indie" mentioning from articles. I don't think there is a reviewed video game article which uses the term in the lead sentence, I will stop for now of course. IgelRM (talk) 02:48, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
Remove of "video"
Why are you going through and removing "video game" because games were only on a PC platform? Computer games are a subset of video games, and the label is accurate. The general label of "computer game" is fairly antiquated now. Computer game ↗ is a redirect to video game ↗, and removing "video game" -> "game" changes the literal meaning. -- ferret (talk ↗) 16:04, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
:Hey thanks for reaching out. According to video game ↗, computer game is still an accepted alternative term. I felt it is technically misleading to call "PC only" games video games as the video part originally referring to game consoles/television. Computer game appears less common on the internet but is used: GScholar ↗, GBooks ↗. (Some of the articles also unnecessarily linked video game) But realize I have been done rather bold editing recently and should probably take it easy for a bit. IgelRM (talk) 16:30, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
::A computer game is still a video game. A video game on PC-only platforms is still a video game. The fact it it is on PC-only does not change it from either "video game" ''or'' "computer game" to ''simply'' "game". -- ferret (talk ↗) 16:54, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
:::{{ping|ferret}} So we need to word it like a CRPG is a video game? I'm not arguing about what it is, but what we label things. Not arguing about my motivation here, "X is an adventure game ↗" is widely used and I didn't change titles or short descriptions. But I will create VG talk thread.
:::You edited above message, computer game recently redirected to PC game until June 2023. This might need a hatnote considering PC game ↗ still says it is also known as a computer game. IgelRM (talk) 10:50, 26 December 2023 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
right|80px ↗
Hi IgelRM. Your account has been added to the "<code>New page reviewers</code>" user group. Please check back at the permissions page ↗ in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled ↗, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the '''New Pages Feed''' ↗. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you '''must''' read the tutorial at New Pages Review ↗, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy ↗. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the '''new page reviewer talk page''' ↗ or ask via the NPP Discord ↗. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors ↗. They are usually ↗ not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector ↗, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline ↗.
- Please review some of our flowcharts (1 ↗, 2 ↗) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
- Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies ↗. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs ↗) 14:34, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
right|80px ↗
Hi IgelRM, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right ↗ to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation ↗ tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed ↗. If you asked for this at requests for permissions ↗, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.
This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol ↗. Before you get started, please take the time to:
- Add Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers ↗ to your watchlist to follow NPP-related discussions
- If you use Twinkle ↗, configure it ↗ to log your CSDs and PRODs
- If you can read any languages other than English, add yourself to the list of reviewers with language proficiencies ↗
You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources ↗. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! <!-- Template:New Page Reviewer granted --> – Joe <small>(talk)</small> 11:12, 1 April 2024 (UTC)

thumb|400px|New Page Review queue January to March 2024 ↗
'''Backlog update:''' The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to {{no ping|Schminnte}}, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to {{no ping|JTtheOG}}, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion ↗.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
'''2023 Awards'''
74px|left ↗
{{no ping|Onel5969}} won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. {{no ping|Hey man im josh}} led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page ↗ and the Hall of Fame ↗. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
'''WMF work on PageTriage:''' The WMF Moderator Tools team ↗ and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October ↗, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November ↗. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed ↗, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October ↗. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
'''Recruitment:''' A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
'''Reviewing tip:''' Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser ↗ tool.

'''Reminders:'''
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord ↗.
- Consider adding the project discussion page ↗ to your watchlist.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here ↗.

Alientrap Page Deletion
Hi there - with the Alientrap page deletion, each of the game sections went through the history of the company while developing each game. The game pages don't contain that company history. Would it better to have a main company history section? 3dElement (talk) 22:02, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
:The problem remains that the company doesn't pass WP:ORG ↗, WP is not a video game industry database. Nexuiz ↗ covers the company founding, what cannot be incorporated there is probably not relevant enough for WP. There is also :Category:Alientrap games ↗ with the game articles. IgelRM (talk) 23:03, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
::Hi. Problem is then each game is notable, and the company history now scattered to the different game pages. Maybe the category would be a better redirect 3dElement (talk) 14:22, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

I added the years to the first sentences of these articles because most video game articles start off like that. 1isall (talk) 19:13, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
:Hello; yes, I saw that. But notice some of the articles even got good article status, this is not a fixed rule in the manual of style. As I said in the edit summary, I believe the lead sentence becomes particular lengthy ("2017 episodic adventure game"). Personally, I find the trend to follow some popular standard rather uncomfortable. Regards IgelRM (talk) 17:05, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
::I understand that you prefer a different editorial style, but even when certain elements like including the year in the lead sentence aren’t strictly required, they are widely supported by guidelines such as the Manual of Style for video game articles ↗. The year being in the lead is specifically covered in MOS:VGYEARINLEAD ↗.
::It's important that we edit articles so that they adhere to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and not to our own personal preferences. Regularly overriding practices that are already widely accepted and covered by these rules could potentially come across as article ownership ↗. 1isall (talk) 18:43, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
:::Well, for one this discussion would be normally be placed on one of the article talk pages and not on a user page. I find MOS:VGYEARINLEAD ↗ to be unclear ("Include the original release year as part of the introduction to the topic", which I would read as the beginning but above it says "The first sentence should"). I feel you are coming at me rather directly for really standard editing here. I'm struggling what your motivation is here other than to call me out, I suggest a discussion at WP:VG ↗ if you are interested in the opinion of someone else. Please refrain from continuing in this style here, regards again. IgelRM (talk) 00:45, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
Screen Rant History
Why do you keep removing the very brief history of Screen Rant prior to acquisition by Valnet? The site was created in 2003 with zero traffic and grew to 15 million visits/month over the 12 years prior to acquisition. Anyone looking for the history of the site would like to know something about its beginnings. You're minimizing the work and legacy of Vic Holtreman, who dedicated 12 years to growing the site as a single-owner enterprise with little business experience at the time. Kettlebeller (talk) 22:40, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
:@Kettlebeller: Please see WP:Original research ↗; every claim on Wikipedia needs a reliable source referenced. Also, this would be more helpful to be continued on Talk:Screen Rant ↗. Regards IgelRM (talk) 18:29, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
Kuju AfD Comment
I wholly agree with your comments on the proposed deletion of the Kuju article, the person who suggested deletion does not seem to understand a page doesn't have to be of international significance, they also did so little 'before' that they failed to notice the page has survived for 19 years without a proposed deletion. They have had no problem with improving articles about individual games, but seem to object to one about the developers, bizzare. GeekBurst (talk) 23:10, 26 July 2025 (UTC)

Redirecting pages
Please don't redirect a page without adding a mention in the target article, such as Game Doctors ↗. If you believe it's major enough to mention there, then you should follow through and prevent WP:SURPRISE ↗ from occurring, thanks. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 16:02, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
:@Zxcvbnm Fair, I agree it's good practice to prevent SURPRISE immediately. I think if there is an acquisition that is reliably sourced (as with Game Doctors), it is generally good to redirect instead of just deletion. So I suppose a proposed merge could be used, but I didn't just want to dispute the PROD. Regards IgelRM (talk) 17:33, 23 August 2025 (UTC)

Gameloft
Hello, I would like some clarification regarding your accusations of "marketing" in my edit. Describing it as a "successful transition" is entirely relevant, given that Gameloft’s revenue literally increased by 48% following this strategy. Since Wikipedia must remain as objective as possible, this clearly qualifies as a successful transition, and there is nothing "marketing-like" about stating it when it is backed by independent sources. Royge 12 (talk) 08:07, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
:And several major and independent media outlets describe this as a successful transition. For example, Le Figaro ↗ explicitly uses the expression ‘successful shift towards PC and console games,’ which is the source I relied on.
:https://www.lefigaro.fr/medias/jeux-video-gameloft-reussit-son-virage-vers-la-console-20221103#:~:text=Pari%20gagnant%20pour%20Gameloft.,des%20consoles%20et%20des%20PC. Royge 12 (talk) 08:24, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
::Hi there, this would be better placed on the Gameloft ↗ talk page. To answer here; rephrasing the heading would be something like "Increased revenue with PC and console transition", fine by me if you do that. It is generally more fitting to leave an evaluation out of headings. The Figaro article talks about success in the context of Disney Dreamlight Valley, which is a bit different than the heading here. It is not clear how to constitutes success, how many copies or how much revenue would be failure etc. IgelRM (talk) 10:29, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for correcting
Instead of replying via an edit summary, I just thought I would drop a thanks here. I had no idea that WccfTech was unreliable and knew nothing about the site. Thanks again for fixing it. Cheezknight (talk) 16:33, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
:You're welcome. I would recommend looking into a source before using it on WP, but it's not uncommon for sources to be questioned later on. IgelRM (talk) 00:56, 28 December 2025 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started
Hi IgelRM. Thank you for your work on Lost in Harmony ↗. Another editor, Vrxces, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol ↗ and left the following comment:
{{Bq|1=This pretty much handily ticks all the boxes to drafting a solid video game article. Appreciate the attention to areas that usually get ignored, like game development. As a point of constructive criticism, I'd say even though gameplay sections are a bit tedious to draft, make sure that it's obvious to the casual reader what the game is if you're going to be brief with that section. Great work!}}
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{code|<nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>Vrxces<nowiki>}}</nowiki>}}. <small>(Message delivered via the Page Curation ↗ tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)</small><!-- Template:Sentnote-NPF -->
VRXCES (talk) 21:43, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
:Thanks. I didn't spent much time on Gameplay and it's a section that I don't have experience in writing with. So I only wrote it to stub level hoping someone or a later me gets back to it. Could you be more specific, like put describing the controls more before characters? Btw, there is a significant story to the game, but I omitted describing that for now. '''Backlog update'''
At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.
After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.
'''2024 and 2025 NPP Awards'''
74px|left ↗{{no ping|JTtheOG}} was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.
{{no ping|Hey man im josh}} and {{no ping|MPGuy2824}} won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.
Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.
{{no ping|BoyTheKingCanDance}}, {{no ping|Rosiestep}}, {{no ping|SunDawn}}, and {{no ping|Vanderwaalforces}} were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame ↗ for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.
'''January–February backlog drive'''
The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to {{no ping|JTtheOG}}, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.
'''May backlog drive'''
An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026 ↗.
'''PageTriage'''
An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed ↗ to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket ↗ if you're interested in following along.
