December 2025

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to :Geopost ↗ when you modified the page, you introduced {{cl|Unknown parameters|unknown parameters}}. Just because you specify {{para|some_param|{{var|some_variable}}}} does not always mean that variable will display. The {{para|some_param}} must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview ↗ button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a '''Show preview''' button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history ↗ of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk ↗ for assistance.

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia ↗. I noticed that your recent edit to :Andre Agassi ↗ did not have an edit summary ↗. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary ↗, or by discussion on the talk page ↗. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief ↗.

The edit summary field looks like this:
{{Edit summary field/OOUI}}

or in the visual editor:
{{Edit summary field/VisualEditor}}

{{strong|Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make.}} When logged in to your Wikipedia account ↗, you can give yourself a reminder by setting {{myprefs|3|check={{int:tog-forceeditsummary}}}}, and then click the "{{int:saveprefs}}" button.

Please stop the French Open name edit

This article is at French Open and the name in the infobox should match it. It has multiple names including the official "French Internationals of Tennis" it's official emblem with the name of the complex of "Roland Garros." But the infobox should be French Open as with the article title. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:38, 1 June 2026 (UTC)

MOS:CAPLENGTH

Hi Iojhug. I see you have been removing the names of the clubs of players from image captions (like here ↗ and here ↗), citing MOS:CAPLENGTH ↗. MOS:CAPLENGTH does seem to suggest "<person> in "<year"> as a default but "more detail could be added". And in the case of sportspeople, I think it's a reasonable idea to include the name of the team of whom the player is wearing a shirt. What do you think? Robby.is.on (talk) 08:32, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

:Hi Robby.is.on, the administrator Mattythewhite keeps undoing the edits of users adding the caption "with France" on Kylian Mbappe's article page. You can see his edits at 18:50 on 23 June 2026 and his unedit on the same day at 22:02.
:Regarding his edits summary, i read the article and find it appropriate to keep the caption of the main article image brief rather than explanatory. Tell me what you think. Kind regards. Iojhug (talk) 08:39, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
::Okay, thanks for your reply. I already wrote what I think. ;-) Perhaps a wider discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football ↗ would help. Robby.is.on (talk) 08:47, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

link=|25px|alt=Information icon ↗ There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents ↗ regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Seasider53 (talk) 20:13, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

3RR

You're already beyond it, but FYI in case you head towards double figures inside 24 hours...

30px|alt=Stop icon ↗ You appear to be engaged in an '''edit war ↗''' at :Kylian Mbappe ↗. An ''edit war'' occurs when editors who disagree about the content of a page repeatedly revert each other's changes. Please '''do not revert or undo''' the edits made by other editors when your changes are reverted. Instead, use the '''talk page ↗''' to discuss how the page can represent consensus ↗ among the editors involved. Here is some advice on how to do this ↗. If discussions get stuck, you can request a third opinion ↗, ask for help at a relevant noticeboard ↗, or seek dispute resolution ↗.

'''Edit warring can result in being blocked from editing ↗''', especially if you violate the three-revert rule ↗, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts ↗ within 24 hours on one page. Undoing any other editor's work, in whole or in part, involving the same or different material, is a revert. You can still be blocked for edit warring '''even if you do not violate the three-revert rule''' should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.. Seasider53 (talk) 00:20, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

Iojhug: If you change the image at Kylian Mbappé ↗ without getting consensus to do so at Talk:Kylian Mbappé ↗, you will be blocked from editing. Attempting to brute force your way around here is not going to work, and is completely antithetical to the cooperative editing environment in which you are editing. Your edit warring will end. ''How'' is up to you. If you have questions, by all means ask. Continuing as you have been is NOT the way forward. I hope I've been clear. --Hammersoft (talk) 01:57, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

:Dear Hammersoft,
:I would like to sincerely apologize for my recent behavior. I realize that I have not been acting in accordance with the cooperative editing environment on Wikipedia, and I am sorry for the disruption I have caused.
:I also feel it is important to bring to your attention that the user Seasider53 has been acting abusively toward me during this process, and it seems that i am not the only user with whom he had that behavior as you can see here:Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents ↗. That has contributed to the escalation of this situation.
:My initial intention here was to improve the depiction of the main image of the article, like i very often do.
:Thank you for your guidance and for bringing the seriousness of this matter to my attention. I intend to move forward by following proper consensus procedures instead of continuing to edit war. Iojhug (talk) 08:40, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
::Please avoid using AI on Wikipedia, it causes significant issues and is prohibited in most cases - see WP:NEWLLM ↗ and WP:AITALK ↗. Editors don't want to talk to ChatGPT, they want to talk to you as a person.
::You're welcome to participate at the Administrators noticeboard thread, but please do not use AI/LLM and do not make allegations about other editors unless you have strong evidence in the form of diffs. ↗ ''In solidarity,'' ↗ Blue-Sonnet (I'm listening) 13:57, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
