Singapore English

Hi, I appreciate your work on the Singapore English ↗ article. Most recently, a user made an subtle (vandal?) addition ↗ on the family language by claiming that Singapore English is directly based on Malaysian English ↗ and removing connections to Asian English ↗ and Southeast Asian English ↗, which is something that I find odd considering I'm quite sure they developed independently due to various geographical and political factors. Restoring to the prior version leads to reverts without explanation. Is this actually the case? Thanks. 178.69.113.131 ↗ (talk) 14:30, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

:Singapore English does not descend from modern Malaysian English, they're both offshoots from the English spoken in British Malaya historically, note that there was a lot of movement and cross-contact between people from Singapore, and other parts of the Malay peninsula. "Malaysia" wasn't even a thing back then. Also, the terms "Southeast Asian English" and "Asian English" are geographical/areal groupings and cannot be used here when we're talking about language families, strictly speaking. Malaysian English descends from British English, not "Asian English", that needs to be changed. Same with Singapore English. It descends from British English, and is ''related'' to modern Malaysian English, but does not descend from it. MiltonLibraryAssistant (talk) 16:11, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

Help needed for Namma Metro ↗ module

Hey @MiltonLibraryAssistant,

I need a small help from your end. I was fascinated by the looks of the Singapore MRT stations' line bands, especially with the interchanges where for 2 lines, it's split into 2 lines and same case for 3 interchange lines. I request you to kindly apply the same for the Namma Metro ↗ module. I hope to get your response soon. Thank you. Harshul12345 (talk) 17:40, 19 December 2024 (UTC)

:Hi. I've made the changes to Template:Namma Metro Infobox station line ↗. It works with up to 4 lines for a single interchange station. Feel free to change the line width and margin settings. MiltonLibraryAssistant (talk) 10:21, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
::@MiltonLibraryAssistant,
::Sorry for the very late reply, but thank you so much for your kind help. I'll see if any changes are needed in terms of the width and margin. Once again, a BIG thank you. Harshul12345 (talk) 01:36, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
::@MiltonLibraryAssistant,
::Hey, I'll need a small help. Is it possible that in the Namma Metro ↗ template, the metro line vertical bars can be swapped? Cause when I enter the value (line=green | line2=purple) the output shows the swapped set of metro lines. I request you (whenever possible) to kindly rectify this issue so that I can alter the metro lines for all stations. Harshul12345 (talk) 06:59, 29 March 2025 (UTC)

SMRT name infobox

Just one more thing; I think there should be a simple border between the SMRT name and the rest of the infobox. Removing the colour lines now kind of makes it a bit awkward.--ZKang123 (talk '''·''' contribs ↗) 06:33, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

MRT other name citations in infobox removed?

Hi, I noticed your recent edits for Eunos MRT station and noticed you removed the translations and transliterations of the station's name in other languages, though in your edit you claimed that transliterations were not necessary in the infobox. Did you intend to remove the citations as well? I kinda agree on how transliterations aren't necessary but what about the citations for the station names in other languages? Everything in the infobox must be cited (unless already mentioned in the body), right? Icepinner (formerly Imbluey2). '''Please ping''' me so that I get notified of your response 15:08, 18 April 2025 (UTC)

:Feel free to put the citations back, but since most MRT station entries lack citations there I feel like it's better to leave them out altogether, or at least put them somewhere else for consistency's sake. <span style="color: #4d211d; font-family: 'Century Gothic', sans-serif">'''MiltonLibraryAssistant ❉'''</span> <span style="color: #0c703e">talk</span> 15:12, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
::True, but doesn't the infobox need to have citations for FA (or for GA sometimes)? I've been thinking about putting the station's other names in the lead as prose (or as a footnote, depending on how large the article is). Icepinner (formerly Imbluey2).
