Promoting hooks at DYK

Hello,

Thanks for trying to help at DYK. Please have a thorough read of all the DYK rules, particularly:

You'll see that it's recommended to install and use the tool PSHAW instead of promoting hooks manually like you did. In general it's better to promote hooks one at a time, as you'll be less likely to make mistakes and avoid conflicts with others who may be promoting hooks at the same time. It is very important to be careful in reviewing each and every hook, as you will be pinged into lengthy discussions if problems are found with any of them down the line (see WT:DYK ↗ and follow WP:ERRORS ↗). (Just because the hook was "approved" by one person, doesn't mean the hook or the article doesn't have problems.)

Finally, on the first page you'll see that it says: {{tq|There will frequently be a need for empty prep slots, in case a hook needs to be bumped or delayed. A good rule of thumb is to leave half of the bottom prep empty: the first slot (image), the last slot (quirky), and two middle slots.}} This is how we know you didn't read all the instructions. ::For sure you should read and re-read all the rules at WP:DYKCRIT ↗ and WP:DYKRI ↗. You should also formally review and re-review as many hooks as you can – both the already approved hooks at WP:DYKNA ↗ as well as the unapproved hooks at WP:DYKN ↗. This helps you get practice in understanding how all the rules apply in a wide variety of circumstances, and demonstrating that you are aware of all the issues, so that other editors who are active at DYK come to trust your judgment. When you encounter possibly problematic hooks and articles at WP:DYKNA ↗, go ahead and comment as to why you hesitate to promote them. Definitely monitor ongoing discussion at WT:DYK ↗ and read what other issues other reviewers are bringing up in general across all nominations.
