Question from Sr1273 (01:11, 14 July 2024)
Hi,
I am trying to edit and then submit an article about a living person Sammi Cannold. Would you please suggest what else I need to input in the article in order to make it noteworthy.
Thank you! --Sr1273 (talk) 01:11, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
:Hi, a person isn't noteworthy because the article makes them noteworthy, but only if they pass WP:N ↗. --SHB2000 (talk) 04:27, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
edit reverted on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_Ivanov
my edit seems to have been reverted on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_Ivanov concerning his name. i checked the bulgarian wikipedia and it said his name was Nikola Ivanov Ivanov (bulgarian names have a patronymic)
:Hi, {{u|Cheesypenguigi}}, in that case, feel free to revert my edit – however, in the case of a WP:BLP ↗, please provide a reliable source ↗ (cannot be bgwiki). --SHB2000 (talk) 01:35, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
:i found a good source (http://1333.bg/persons/bg/image/437/) and have edited the article. thanks Cheesypenguigi (talk) 13:25, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
::Thank you – glad we could resolve this. --SHB2000 (talk) 14:09, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

Question from Coiman (00:39, 26 October 2024)
Hello @SHB2000. I just need to ask you a quick question about editing. I have added a template called Too Many Photos to the article cat. I have a feeling I haven't done it right. Have I done it correctly? Here`s the link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat#cite_note-1 --Coiman (talk) 00:39, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
:If I'm reading things correctly, make sure to omit ref tags if adding {{tl|too many photos}}. I've got no opinion on whether the tag should be there in the first place or not, though. --SHB2000 (talk) 07:53, 26 October 2024 (UTC)

Question from Prophecy Guy (03:41, 16 November 2024)
Hi -- just joined, obviously.
I've been working on a draft, and frequently "Publishing it".
When I exit Wikipedia, and then sign back in -- it's gone!
Where do I find it? --Prophecy Guy (talk) 03:41, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
:{{tps}} {{re|Prophecy Guy}} I believe you are referring to Draft:David Wilkerson Prophecies ↗. Question from Obinna Tony (18:29, 18 September 2025)
Hi,
How are you doing?
I need a guide on how to create a new article.
Regards --Obinna Tony (talk) 18:29, 18 September 2025 (UTC)

Question from Wikibiryalanmakinesi (21:35, 27 September 2025)
Hi, there is an article about Khankandi in Azerbaijan The city was called Stepankert during Armenian invasion of Karabagh region of Azerbaijan. Now Armenia has recognised the region as part of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan officially calls the city Khankandi. But a few editors don't let to change the page title of city. There is also another article called "Stepankert during Artsakh time". But still this doesn't stop these editors resisting against changing the article. Google map has changed the name for 2 years already. What I can do?! --Wikibiryalanmakinesi (talk) 21:35, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
:@Wikibiryalanmakinesi: Hi, I'm not entirely familiar with the situation in regards to this city specifically, but the general rule of thumb is to always use the most common name in English per WP:COMMONNAME ↗. That, of course, is very subjective, but the best way to raise any concerns about the name if you think that is not the most common name, is to raise it on the article's talk page. What you shouldn't do, however, is make threats of reporting people and such like you did here ↗ because that is ''more'' disruptive. --SHB2000 (talk) 23:50, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
Well, I don't understand how a few people with political motivation can stop renaming a city to its legally and internationally known name. Plus the guy is using Wikipedia templates to bully other editors. I don't think that Wikipedia has a future in the information industry considering how biased and against common sense is behaving. Thanks for your response though Wikibiryalanmakinesi (talk) 11:27, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
Question from Anil0l (05:39, 2 October 2025)
Hi, any advice? I'm trying to chunk edits so if anyone disagrees with my edits, it's easy to revert, but I'm being accused of "gaming" the system. Thoughts? --Anil0l (talk) 05:39, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
:@Anil0l: Honestly, if people find issues with your edits, I guess it is their loss if they want to revert. I can't say I agree with the warning on your talk page, but it's probably best to make all your edits in multiple chunks. --SHB2000 (talk) 23:36, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
::Wanted to say thank you for responding. Anil0l (talk) 22:31, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

To facilitate this bot, protection summaries must include a link to the relevant CT page (e.g. <code><nowiki>WP:CT/BLP ↗</nowiki></code>), and you will receive talk page reminders if you forget to specify the contentious topic but otherwise indicate it is an AE action.

Question for mentor: odd user talk page behavior
Hello SHB2000, I'm MossOnALog and you were assigned to me as a mentor—I was hoping you could provide advice or intervention on an odd scenario that I'm unfamiliar with. I had reverted some odd text at the top of an article {{diff|prev|1315993367}}, then left a notice on the user's talk page: User talk:Esserrzanatkarergun; the user responded with more unintelligible text then what seems like a draft article or something similar. Not the most disruptive behavior but also not appropriate content for a talk page if I understand correctly. Is the kind of thing I should just ignore? Or is is best to leave another notice or alert an admin? Thanks in advance for your time and help. <span style="background-color:#556B2F; padding:6px 6px 4px 6px;border-radius:10px;"><span style="color: #FFFFF0">'''MossOnALog'''</span><span style="color: #FFFFF0">Talk</span></span> 14:08, 10 October 2025 (UTC)

Question from Wikibiryalanmakinesi (00:38, 5 November 2025)
Hi,
There is an editor in the HQ-9 missile system page that keeps deleting my edits with baseless arguments. Can you help me with that?! --Wikibiryalanmakinesi (talk) 00:38, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
:It wasn't baseless – you need a reliable source ↗ to back your edits. --SHB2000 (talk) 03:17, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
::I have given 3 sources. Look at other sources in the page. Which one of them is more reliable than mine? And what you mean by not reliable? Which metrics do you have for reliability. This is ridiculous. Can I change my mentor? You are never helpful. Wikibiryalanmakinesi (talk) 01:40, 6 November 2025 (UTC)
:::If you're gonna disregard my efforts, I'm not going to bother looking at your other sources or giving you an answer. End of discussion. --SHB2000 (talk) 08:29, 6 November 2025 (UTC)
::::I don't think you never bothered looking at any of my request of help. I imagine you are more sympathetic to the type of people I have problem with. Good luck Wikibiryalanmakinesi (talk) 07:16, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
Question from Junereads (15:17, 16 November 2025)
:''Note: Junereads's mentor Zippybonzo is away.''
Hello, I hope this message finds you well. I'm writing to you today because I'm a little frustrated and confused about a recent editing experience I had on Wikipedia. Specifically, I was working on the page for Vaishno Devi, the Hindu goddess. I spent a considerable amount of time and effort carefully adding information to the page, particularly a list of the goddess's various names and their corresponding meanings. I made sure to properly cite my sources and provide accurate information for each name. I was inspired to do this because I had noticed similar lists of names on other Wikipedia pages dedicated to deities, and those lists seemed to be accepted and helpful to readers. However, my additions to the Vaishno Devi page have been repeatedly removed by a single user. This user's stated reason for removing the information is that, in their opinion, "The infobox is meant to provide a brief overview. A separate section dedicated solely to listing names is also unnecessary unless there is significant scholarly analysis discussing those names. Wikipedia follows summary style, and articles on deities should focus on mythology, iconography, worship, etc—not exhaustive name lists." While I understand the point about keeping the infobox concise, I believe the list of names, with their meanings, adds valuable context and depth to the article. It provides readers with a more comprehensive understanding of the goddess and her diverse manifestations. My confusion stems from the fact that I've observed similar lists existing on other deity pages without being removed. It feels unfair that my contributions, which took a significant amount of time and research to compile, are being consistently deleted by one user, while similar content remains on other seemingly comparable pages. I'm trying to understand why my additions are being treated differently and how I can contribute to the page in a way that aligns with Wikipedia's guidelines and policies, while still providing valuab --Junereads (talk) 15:17, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
:@Junereads Hi, I don't mean to disregard your efforts, but from a quick glance, have you both considered discussing this out on the talk page? I think you'll find that you will be able to go much further when you discuss it out. :) --SHB2000 (talk) 23:09, 16 November 2025 (UTC)

Question from User707070707 (19:47, 1 December 2025)
:''Note: User707070707's mentor Liu1126 is away.''
Hi! I've come across quite a few articles now flagged for being too subjective and issues like that (this sounds like a CV etc). I've been struggling to work out what specifically that means and what I should do about it. Any clarifying tips you have on this would be much appreciated. Thanks! --User707070707 (talk) 19:47, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
:Hi, @User707070707, from what I can infer, this most likely has to do with WP:NPOV ↗, a universal guideline across enwiki. Any article marred by subjectivity doesn't truly reflect a neutral point of view in many cases, hence why you might be seeing so many of those tags. --SHB2000 (talk) 21:17, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from SpeedyClaxton36 (14:05, 24 January 2026)
Hi there, I was reading through the Louisville, Kentucky wikivoyage page and noticed a handful of numbered amenities/restaurants that are no longer in operation. I couldn’t figure out how to update the numbered items that are tied to the map. Could you offer any guidance with that please? --SpeedyClaxton36 (talk) 14:05, 24 January 2026 (UTC)
:Hi, @SpeedyClaxton36, the numbers tied to the map are directly linked with listings. If you see a listing that appears to be closed, simply remove that listing from whatever section it's from and mention it in the edit summary (something like "closed listing"). That will eventually remove it from the map. Let me know if you need any other help. --SHB2000 (talk) 07:16, 25 January 2026 (UTC)

Question from Hitorikaiso1998 (07:33, 12 February 2026)
Hi there! I have a very simple question.
I'm curious if it's possible to hide specific articles on my index paged under "Most viewed (since your edit)" mostly because there are articles that I made extremely small grammar fixes there, articles with sensitive topics that I don't particularily enjoy seeing every time I log on, and some articles that get very few edits that I'd like to see at the top.
Otherwise, is there a way to hide specific articles to keep others pinned to that list, or have it sort by least viewed instead.
Thank you in advance! --Hitorikaiso1998 (talk) 07:33, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
:Hi, @Hitorikaiso1998, maybe those more technically inclined might know of a way, but I'm not aware of any way to hide specific articles on that index, unfortunately. :( --SHB2000 (talk) 08:40, 12 February 2026 (UTC)

CEE Newsletter is out now!
Dear all,
The first CEE Newsletter issue of 2026 is now live, and we are happy to share it with you.
The past few months have been anything but quiet across our region. From Wikimedia CEE Spring and the CEE Women Campaign, to cross-border collaborations, youth initiatives, and new ideas taking shape, there is a lot happening -- and this issue brings together many of those stories in one place.
You will find highlights from community activities, updates from the CEE Hub, international news, and a wide range of contributions from across the region. It is a good snapshot of what we have been working on together at the start of the year.
As always, thank you to everyone who contributed -- by writing, sharing updates, or supporting behind the scenes.
Take a moment to explore the issue and see what is going on across the region: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/CEE/Newsletter/March_2026
As always, we have prepared a Russian version of the same issue: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/CEE/Newsletter/March_2026/ru
Happy reading!

- Changes to user permissions made from Meta are now included in the local user permissions log (T6055 ↗).
- The autoconfirmed ↗ user group will soon be modified such that the four-day account age requirement begins when an account makes its first edit (T418484 ↗).
20px|alt= ↗ '''Arbitration'''
- The arbitration case ''SchroCat ↗'' has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case closed on 15 April.
- Per a recent motion ↗, appeals of blocks from the conflict-of-interest VRT queue ↗ are, by default, appealed on-wiki through the normal unblock process. However, they may be heard by the Committee if COIVRTers disagree on the interpretation of the evidence or believe ArbCom would be better suited to hear the appeal. Administrators are also advised that loosening or lifting such blocks without the consent of someone with access to the queue or ArbCom can be grounds for desysopping.
- Per a recent motion ↗, restrictions issued directly by the Committee may now be enforced with blocks which work exactly like contentious topic blocks.
- The arbitration case ''Maghreb ↗'' has been closed.
class=skin-invert|20px|alt= ↗ '''Miscellaneous'''
- The May 2026 administrator elections ↗ are scheduled to run from April 29 to May 19. The call for candidates ↗ ends May 5.
- The 2026 Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) election ↗ is scheduled to run from April 25 to June 1. Candidacy submissions ↗ close on May 10.
- A '''new noticeboard ↗''' for non-urgent, batch page protection requests has been created, primarily for the enforcement of contentious topic restrictions ↗.

Question from Wuezaz on Draft:Reyna Ng Aliwan 2017 ↗ (05:02, 16 May 2026)
How do I create a infobox for a biography or place? --Wuezaz (talk) 05:02, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
:@Wuezaz: Hi, infoboxes are created using {{tl|infobox}}. For biographies specifically, see the documentation at {{tl|Infobox person}} and {{tl|Infobox place}} for places (though there are some even more specialised templates for places, like {{tl|Infobox Australian place}}). --SHB2000 (talk) 05:06, 16 May 2026 (UTC)

hi .i have edited some information on saigon central mosque but someone is removed from that page.kindly help me to solve this because all those are generous article. --MOHAMEDFAAZIL (talk) 07:41, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
:@MOHAMEDFAAZIL: It seems you added copyrighted material to the article? Please don't do that – what you did was essentially theft. Anything you add should be entirely in your own words. --SHB2000 (talk) 09:12, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
::I am literally confused, how can i add my personal images to that page? because its all my grandparents data and they are the leaders of saigon muslims community, that means all they have their own copyright on their pics MOHAMEDFAAZIL (talk) 09:49, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
