Hello. Please do not write about the future in the past tense and do not predict future events on Wikipedia, as you did in your edit to Stefanos Tsitsipas ↗. Tsitsipas didn't climb to No.&nbsp;4, he is still No.&nbsp;5 in the rankings, as you can see in the official ATP Rankings ↗. Tennis rankings are only updated on Monday after tournaments, and never during tournaments ("live" calculations are not tennis rankings). Tsitsipas' Monday ranking depends on his result in the finals. He will be either No.&nbsp;4 (if he loses the match), or No.&nbsp;3 (if he wins). He didn't climb anywhere yet, he is still No.&nbsp;5, and his Monday ranking is still undecided. Never add things that have not happened yet, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball ↗. The term "historic" is over the top

Please refrain from making the section headers too long and to grandiose as happened at Casper Ruud ↗. Sure if a player wins all four majors in the same year (a Grand Slam), that would be "historic", but it really needs to be something extremely important. For Casper Ruud, historic header it is because he is the first Norwegian to reach a grand slam. It is quite important in the whole country of Norway and also to all the tennis fans and was acknowledged by all the official press not tabloids. You are making the table of contents too wide

With tennis articles, please try and limit the width of table of contents. For phones especially the boxes get too wide. Each year heading should be the top one or maybe two things... it should not be a synopsis of all the good things that happened. That's what the prose is for. Thanks. ::And to be honest, most of what I see you do is pretty darned good and includes sources. I leave most of it alone. With some of our biggest named players we use the toc limiter <nowiki>{{TOC limit|2}}</nowiki> after the lead section so the toc won't get too wide or too long, and with newer players it's also no big deal. It's the mid-level players or players with mid-length careers that we tend to be more wary. Perhaps I'm making the inter-article headers too short, and that's probably by habit. ::Actually the IP is correct. Standard grammar and wikipedia consensus is that "world number 1" is not capitalized. However the abbreviation for number, No., is always capitalized. ::::But how tennis organizations do it is not really how wikipedia does it. I think the general rule for all capitalizations is that it needs to be capitalized in almost all outside publications to be considered a proper name. Even if it was 50/50 we would not capitalize it here. There's always a discussion about this taking place on wikipedia and the latest is at Manual of Style/Capital letters ↗ on the non-capitalization of "royal family." Most press do not capitalize "world number one." I still feel that when used in a header it's fine to use capitals and it's why in my own personal writing I use things like "Men's Singles"... but it has been pointed out to me that at wikipedia that is not the way it works. Trivial charts

Charts like the top ten chart on Jannik Sinner career statistics are extremely trivial in nature and original research. I'm not sure you can find these charts intact like this in any book or press release. Listing a chart of players who were ever in the top ten means they might have only been ranked 200 when Sinner actually played them. That is ridiculously trivial and of interest only to a very few tennis fanatics.... that is not supposed to be in wikipedia articles by guidelines. Sure, players that were actually in the top 10 when they played is a reasonable entry that is not trivial, but not anyone that has ever been on the top 10 or top 20. This has been discussed in several articles including the Iga Swiatek stats talk page. If we opened it up for discussion to general Wikipedia editors for an up or down vote, many tennis charts we use might get chopped as borderline trivia, but these top 10 at any time charts surely would get eliminated. When I became the "bad guy" and actually removed those bogus top 10 charts you complained. We might be able to contain them a bit if they are only wins vs top 10. Gauff is already 16 rows long with wins, and is much longer with losses. Djokovic/Federer, Nadal should probably be top 3 wins to keep them from undue weight, but that can be discussed as to the best cutoff. Gauffs chart was updated with proper event names (not cities) and proper sourcing for each and every match, as it should be. We can eliminate the charts altogether as the policy discussion leaned towards, but I was hoping to retain at least a wins only chart. Other significant finals

What has traditionally been done in tennis articles is to list Grand Slam tournament finals above other finals.... they are so much more important. And since the term "Grand Slam" means something different in tennis terms, we either use "majors" or "Grand Slam tournaments." The word "significant" is usable or not for other events. If there are 1000 finals, Olympics, WTA Finals.... then we can lump them under "Other significant finals" or not. If there is only one then we can simply use "WTA 1000" as a header. Is English your first language? I don’t want to discourage non-native speakers from editing on the English-language Wikipedia, but there have been several instances where I’ve noticed you changing sentences in ways that are either grammatically incorrect or flow in an awkward way to a native speaker. Good evening. I hope you are well. I would like to raise a couple of matters with you. Firstly you have changed the Sonay Kartal page regarding her ranking without a source. The live rankings are not an accepted source so any mention of her rise in ranking should be based off the actual citations which say top 120 not top 115. Secondly why do you put so much content in all over the place with no citations? Wikipedia policy is to cite all BLP content but you rarely do. I am regularly adding citations to content you've put in, most recently the page for Eva Lys. Finally, we are supposed to work together in cooperation but you act as if the tennis pages are your own personal property, changing things and wording repeatedly and then putting rude notes on such as "do not change" and "we say blah blah in the US." The second one is particularly silly as Wikipedia is a global encyclopedia not a US one so it is irrelevant what you say in the US. The term "major" is not capitalized

Per discussions and wikipedia guidelines, the term "major" is not capitalized. And per consensus and proper usage we can use "major" or it's counterpart "Grand Slam tournament." Many of your edits tend to add low-quality trivial and/or unsourced information to the write-ups of articles. One thing I notice a lot is that you add unsourced rankings like, "Ranked XXX, she defeated..." This is trivial information, and is rarely ever included in the sources you cite, if you happen to cite a source. Please reference this discussion ↗ on Wikipedia:WikiProject Tennis ↗, because I agree with their sentiments.

I'm sure you don't mean anything in bad faith, but these kind of edits lower the overall quality of tennis articles. Adding content doesn't always mean adding value. The Mexican event is further detailed in the prose. If an event is not further detailed in the prose it has no business being in the subheading. These table of contents are getting too wide and stewy. On phones you don't see them but on laptops they become a mess. If reaching her first WTA semifinal is the biggest event that happened to her that year, sure keep it. But then the other items become minor trivia. It should be a defining event. I don't like plopping messages here either, but you don't seem to get the message any other way. I keep mentioning it in various summaries but you must not be reading those. If you look at a table of contents and the section headers are much longer than the other items in the toc, it's time to put in the defining event of the year and chop the rest. Or figure some way to shorten it. We don't need continual terms like maiden or historical. We don't need things like second or third title. This is for the single year or time period. Repeated disruptive editing

Hi User:Sashona, I'm aware that this has been addressed with you several times, and it seems that you have refused to listen to any constructive criticism about your editing patterns. I'm attempting to once again make contact with you about this, because I know I'm not the only user who finds your edits disruptive.

• Being unnecessarily wordy only makes an article harder to read. ''Less'' is more. Adding words for the sake of adding words is not effective writing. This isn't a high school class where you need to meet a word count for an essay.


• You add inconsequential, and often times, unsourced rankings to tennis articles. What exactly is the purpose of this?


• Continuing in that same vein, you have a very lax approach to sourcing, and that's not acceptable. There are plenty of resources that you can use if you need help, like WP:CS ↗ and WP:RS ↗.


• You refuse to engage in consensus-building, often times ignoring others' valid critiques and continuing to edit as you want. It completely misses the point of how Wikipedia is supposed to work. This is supposed to be a community of editors.

Adding unnecessary trivia to articles

Hi User:Sashona, I'm reaching out via your talk page again, though I'm sure this one will be archived as well without a response.
Please consider whether your edits add any useful information to an article, because I've noticed that you tend to tack on unnecessary trivia that clogs up existing paragraphs. Adding words to articles does not always mean adding value. Wikipedia isn't a college essay you need to meet a word count on.

Your edits seem to mostly constitute making unnecessary edits to existing work, whether it is changing grammar or adding useless trivia. You never seem to be contributing to the bulk of the work, only modifying what people have already written up. (And making it lower quality in the process.) There are plenty of resources on effective writing under the WP:MOS ↗, and I suggest you look them over. In the meantime, you should be more open to receiving criticism from others instead of ignoring and continuing as usual, because I know I'm not the only user who feels this way. Montemar Challenger

Please use some common sense. If the 2024 edition is titled II Montemar Challenger and the 2025 edition is titled III Montemar Challenger, then they are obviously numbering the editions and the ATP messed up and thought that II (meaning 2) was actually Il (I and L). I'm good with either "Grand Slam tournament" or "major"

If you'd rather use "Grand Slam tournament" instead of "major" I'm usually good with that. It's longer but means the same thing. And longstanding Wikipedia consensus is that they are interchangeable terms. And certainly we do at times shorten things for tables and article titles. Cheers.
