Article Esther Zweig ↗ moved from Wikipedia namespace ↗ back to User:T. E. Meeks/sandbox

Hello T. E. Meeks,

I came across your article Esther Zweig ↗ while performing work for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Citation cleanup ↗. It contained several {{color|red|Cite errors}}, was flagged in the {{color|blue|Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting}}, and effectively contained no citations or visible references.

Rather than risk deletion, I wanted to let you know that I have moved your article Esther Zweig ↗ from Wikipedia namespace ↗ back to User:T. E. Meeks/sandbox to allow you time to finish your article with properly formatted references and inline citations. For instructions on how to do this, please see Referencing for beginners ↗.

If you need additional information, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{code|<nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>WildStar<nowiki>}}</nowiki>}}, while also remembering to sign your reply with {{code|<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>}} (four tildes).

Thank you,

:{{Re|WildStar}}Thanks for looking at my Esther Zweig article. I would like to delete all versions of it (there are apparently several) and start over. How do I delete articles in my sandbox (and elsewhere)? Thanks.

::{{Re|T. E. Meeks}} Normally you simply blank out the contents of the Sandbox. For help with the Sandbox, please see Wikipedia:About the sandbox ↗. For help on deleting articles you created, see Wikipedia:How to delete a page ↗. Thanks! WildStar (talk) 21:49, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

Proposed deletion ↗ of Hsiung-Zee Wong ↗

left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗

The article Hsiung-Zee Wong ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy ↗, this '''biography of a living person ↗''' will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source ↗ that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners ↗, or ask at the help desk ↗. Once you have provided at least one reliable source ↗, you may remove the {{tl|prod blp/dated}} tag. '''Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced.''' If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can {{#ifexist:Hsiung-Zee Wong|request that it be undeleted|request that it be undeleted ↗}} when you are ready to add one.<!-- Template:ProdwarningBLP --> <span style="color:black">'''‡ Єl Cid of Valencia'''</span> <span style="color:teal">talk</span> 19:16, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

Proposed deletion ↗ of :Mary Wiggins ↗

The article :Mary Wiggins ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗&#32;because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''Fails WP:BASIC ↗, WP:ANYBIO ↗, and WP:MUSICBIO ↗.'''</blockquote>

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> Magnolia677 (talk) 21:13, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for a good one! - For the next, Helen Searles Westbrook ↗, I made some formatting changes. What was her birth name. We can't call her Westbrook before she married Mr. Westbrook. I guess it was Searles. - If she published as Helen Westbrook ↗, that should be the article name. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:03, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
: I am working from this list (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Red/Missing_articles_by_dictionary/International_encyclopedia_of_women_composers#W) which lists her as Helen Searles Westbrook, which is why I used all three names. T. E. Meeks (talk) 18:08, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
:: Sorry, I missed your response, and made it more visible now. Wikipedia has its own guidance for article names, and goes by Common name. For the one below, I began formatting, but really don't know which pieces are large (italics then) and which small (in quotation marks). Can you please do it, for all "your" composers? The only compositions we list in straight font are generic titles such as Symphony and Fantasy. It would also add if you'd mention background, such as "based on Psalm 84 ↗". --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:23, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
::: Different responses to what you said my talk. What I changed here was just the indenting, which clarifies that something is a response, by one colon more than what a reply is to. - I'm not good in guidelines, more of a copycat. To find a guideline it normally helps to write what you look for preceded by "WP:". Let's try: common name is a very broad concept, WP:COMMONNAME ↗. The other topic concerns the Manual of style (MoS), WP:MOSTITLE ↗. Please read if you have the time. If not, just believe me that it is ''Fantastic Opera'' for major works, Symphony for generic titles, and "I like you" for a song or other small piece of that title. As I don't know the composers' works, I can't do it for you. In a nutshell: Wikipedia has its own style guides, and (sadly) little respect for other ideas. For Wikipedia, it has to be (enough people will tell you, and told me) ''A Boy Was Born'' even though the composer published ''A Boy was Born ↗''. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:34, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Singers at an opera

Sometimes I think we should have categories such as :Category:Singers at the Leipzig Opera ↗. If we'd list all with an article who ever sang there, the article would be long. I think that mentioning a singer who sang at a house for a short time is undue weight, if not supported by a ref that s/he made a difference there. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:29, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

: Sounds like a good idea! T. E. Meeks (talk) 22:53, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
:: The cat you mean? - I'll look at the one for deletion above, but am tired now. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:14, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
::: I would appreciate your input on Whittle. I'm unclear about what makes a composer "notable." I had been looking for inclusion in dictionaries/encyclopedias, their teachers, awards, and publications, especially by major publishers. If there is some other criteria, I'd like to know. I don't like wasting my time on these articles only to have them deleted.
::: T. E. Meeks (talk) 00:49, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
:::: Sadly, I don't know. I'm not a guideline person. What I see looks god to me - belly feeling. - There are guidelines for music bios, but they are more for pop music, and supposed to prevent that every starlet with one song recorded gets an article. - Patience though, I first have to improve an article about a woman who will be mentioned on the Main page in a few hours. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:45, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
::::: I commented in the deletion discussion, after adding 2 refs and formatting the opus numbers. Perhaps think about a sort by year instead of alpha. I reverted your addition to Monteverdi. That is a featured article, every sentence has its place, and all is referenced. An unreferenced sentence inserted doesn't work. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:20, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
::::: Can you please stop inserting new articles where they don't belong, - just noticed The Proms ↗. Imagine that article would include a list of all performers: horrible ;) - If a new person belongs, please also copy the source, - don't leave articles with unsourced facts. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:53, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
::::: Now Psalm 36 ↗: do you know that nothing should be in the lead which is not sourced in the body? IF this psalm setting is worth mentioning - which I can't tell - please add it in the section ''Musical settings'', absolutely ''with a reference''. That's fine, and will not be reverted. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:58, 23 January 2
A question: some of these works popped up when I did a general search with a search engine and they were listed for sale at amazon.com or ebay.com. I was reluctant to reference either source because they are so ephemeral, so I left the work unsourced. Would it be better not to list the work at all? or to list amazon or ebay as the source?
T. E. Meeks (talk) 12:37, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
: It depend's. If an article should go for DYK, works have to be referenced. Ebay is lousy, Amazon not respected. I think we have now all of Whittle's works decently referenced. Did you understand you shouldn't drop names in established articles? Some minor composer doesn't belong in the ''lead'' of a psalm. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:42, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
:: I understand and will be more circumspect in the future. T. E. Meeks (talk) 12:44, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

Your edits

Hello, thanks for your article creations. I see there's been discussion above about this ... I know it's nice to connect pages to your new articles, but please be very very careful with this. I've had to revert a number of your edits of this type ... we don't care about random settings of the works of poets by obscure composers, ditto sometimes with sshort lists of students, such obscure composers shouldn't be placed in lists containing highly notable people, and we don't care about random times when composers went to see other composers' works ↗. Your edits to Vienna ↗, Heinrich Heine ↗, and Columbia University ↗ are most concerning to me. If you're thinking of creating an article that have no natural connections to other articles, you probably shouldn't do it. I also question the wisdom of using a super-specialised reference to create a huge number of articles in a short amount of time in reverse alphabetical order but ... you do you. '''Graham'''<span style="color: green;">87</span> 17:16, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
:I will add this though ... adding blue-linked entries (especially sourced ones) to list articles on Wikipedia is almost always welcome. '''Graham'''<span style="color: green;">87</span> 17:27, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
I understand the point you and Gerda made about Psalm 36. I don't understand your objection to the Heinrich Heine article. Julie Waldburg-Wurzach is certainly as relevant to that article as Nikolai Medtner, Hans Werner Henze, Lord Berners, Paul Lincke, Yehezkel Braun, Marcel Tyberg and Friedrich Baumfelder.
T. E. Meeks (talk) 13:02, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
:Oops, I linked to the wrong edit ... I meant to link to this one ↗, which is much, much more serious; that you even thought to make it is extremely alarming. The fact that we had to wait until 2020 to get an article about Waldburg-Wurzach shows how minor a composer she was ... along with the fact that we'll have to wait until at least 2021 for the Wikipedia in her native language to write an article about her. I've gone and made another edit to Heine's article ↗ to prove my point that the list is not exhaustive and should only have composers with substantial notability. If an institution (e.g. a gallery, library, archive, or museum ↗ is asking you to edit these articles, you should disclose this; if you are being paid to make these edits ↗, then see this guideline ↗. '''Graham'''<span style="color: green;">87</span> 14:42, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
I am alarmed that you consider Marcel Tyberg more relevant than Waldburg-Wurzach. You might want to devote some of your editing skills to improving his article. . . . P.S. I am amazed (and mildly flattered) that you would think I am being paid. I am a retired technical writer/editor and still-active musician who is stuck at home during the pandemic. I needed a project and I am enjoying this one.
T. E. Meeks (talk) 16:31, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
: What's wrong with Tyberg? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:30, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
It's not that anything is wrong with Tyberg. It's that Graham87 removed Waldburg-Wurzach from the following paragraph (re Heinrich Heine) which includes several obscure musicians like Tyberg: "Many composers have set Heine's works to music. They include Robert Schumann. . .; and in the 20th century Julie Waldburg-Wurzach, Nikolai Medtner, Hans Werner Henze, Carl Orff, Lord Berners, Paul Lincke, Yehezkel Braun, Marcel Tyberg and Friedrich Baumfelder. . . ."
I totally understand what you are both saying about Psalm 36 and I will be more careful in the future. But Waldburg-Wurzach is certainly no more obscure than any musician in that sentence except for Carl Orff. I was using Tyberg as an example.
T. E. Meeks (talk) 20:12, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
: I think we might all think about our prejudices, and not call any one "obscure". For me, Henze is one of the really great composers of the 20th century, and Orff is not, so let's better not compare. The list is already long, Tyberg is obviously not obscure, and ''any'' addition needs a good reason, such as a ref saying that a composer expresses Heine's intentions well, not just "set his poems", - that could be very simple settings which are not necessarily noteworthy. Also, such lists should be by alphabet or - if known - by time of composition, so why would WW come first? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:28, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
She doesn't need to come first, she just needs to be included. Last or alphabetically is fine.
T. E. Meeks (talk) 20:38, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
: per which source saying that her settings deserve mentioning more than 20 other composers setting single poems by him? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:59, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
I assume the same place that says Nikolai Medtner, Hans Werner Henze, Lord Berners, Paul Lincke, Yehezkel Braun, Marcel Tyberg and Friedrich Baumfelder deserve mention.
T. E. Meeks (talk) 21:12, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
: please don't assume, give me a source for her having done something special for Heine, please. I looked at the article, and fixed a few things. You please change all Opus to Op., and on the English Wikipedia, they normally follow the title, and all song titles in quotation marks, and no italics. It would make it look a bit more like other articles here. Her piano teacher seems actually the more interesting person ;) - I found a de article about the palace where they lived, - wow! - Württemberg ↗ is large. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:18, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
::Indeed ... as I said, number of interwiki links is a reasonable proxy for notability. Waldburg-Wurzach has none and the others (that are present at time of writing) have at least seven. Another proxy is the presence of an entry in ''The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians ↗''. In the online edition that we all potentially have access to through The Wikipedia Library ↗, Medtner, Henze, Orff, Berners, Lincke, and Braun all have entries, while Tyberg, Baumfelder, and Waldburg-Wurzach (the latter two of whom I removed) do not. As for Tyberg, once I fixed the link to the cited ref ↗, I was surprised how substantial it was ... I'm going to leave him in but I wouldn't mind if somebody else had a good reason for removing him. The reason I wondered if you may have been doing this project on behalf of an institution/were paid for your editing was that you are working in a relatively niche area of an already out-of-the way subject (classical music) and you have expressed very strong opinions about this niche and have tried to promote it in a way that most editors wouldn't. I'm going to write a message at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Classical music ↗ to find out if we can get some more opinions here. '''Graham'''<span style="color: green;">87</span> 05:19, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
:::{{replyto|Gerda Arendt}} Speaking of Henze, you might be interested in an article I wrote some time ago about an Australian violinist/conductor/composer who had a bit to do with him, Brenton Langbein ↗! I have no problem thinking of him as relatively obscure, but there were plenty of articles he could be connected with ↗, quite naturally ... Please be careful with categories ... most of your edits in this area seem to be OK but your most recent edit ↗ was not, per my edit summary there ↗. A couple more minor things

Hello, you're probably sick of the sight of me ... and this may well be my last message here for the time being ... but thanks for seeming to take my advice re linkage when creating the Valerie Vonpechy ↗ article. I've tweaked it a bit. List items should not be separated by blank lines, as that interferes with accessibility for screen reader ↗ users like me; see the guideline on list gaps ↗. Works often have their own heading with types of works as subheadings, there's usually a blank line before each heading, and references sections generally contain a template like {{tl|reflist}}. It's all summed up in this edit of mine ↗. '''Graham'''<span style="color: green;">87</span> 11:43, 30 January 2021 (UTC)

Thomasmeeks (talk) 03:02, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Likewise.

Cheers, Thomasmeeks (talk) 13:51, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

P.S. I came across an edit you on the Shakespeare page. With initials such as yours, you might well be a Brit, whereas mine would suggest someone in the States @ the time of the Revolution.

Wendelburg

I just added a Norma Wendelburg setting to Psalm 146 ↗. I found it a bit tricky to find the ref "Cohen", looking first in the reflist, than at the first mentioning ... - Do we really have no isbn number and page numbers? - Feel free to add other compositions to where they belong. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:12, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

:It is on p. 748 of ISBN 0-9617485-1-6, which is vol. 2 of the 1987 edition (this is from the hardcopy). I think that online (googlebooks) this ISBN appears: 0961748524. I usually use the autoformat citation feature where you enter an ISBN or URL. Is there some other way I should be doing this? Thanks for adding the Psalm 146.
: T. E. Meeks (talk) 12:45, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
:: Thank you. I am old-fashioned and code refs myself, - no help in that respect. If there's a Google version, I prefer that, because it's easier to verify. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:51, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Anna Teichmuller ↗

Hello. Thank you for creating the article Anna Teichmuller ↗. I was curious as to why not to name the article Anna Teichmüller (with umlaut) like her father, Gustav Teichmüller ↗? Thanks. ExRat (talk) 10:09, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi ExRat,
Thank you for checking on this. I don't speak German and also don't know how to add an umlaut. If you feel that Teichmuller needs an umlaut, please add it (and tell me how to do it). Thanks!

Women in Red

Hi there, T. E. Meeks, and thanks for registering as a member of Women in Red -- although I see you have been following our activities since April. Despite a few queries by other editors about the relevance of some of those you've been writing about, it seems to me it's entirely in Wikipedia's interest to have articles on all your 166 female composers, especially as your work is supported by reasonable sources. I can only encourage you to keep up the good work and transform more of the red links from the encyclopedia of women composers ↗ into blue ones. It might help if you added a few words about yourself and your interests on your user page. (This could avoid further questions about paid editing, etc.) Your standard of editing is high but if you have not already done so, you might find it useful to look through our Primer for creating women's biographies ↗. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 13:18, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

Lists of women composers

I don't want to burden you with a lot of additional work but we have two lists of female composers: List of female composers by birth date ↗ and List of female composers by name ↗. It would be useful if you could add your articles to one or both of these lists. Some of the other lists under Lists of women in music ↗ may also be of interest. I also note that quite a few of those you have written about have also been writers. We have a whole series of lists for these under :Category:Lists of women writers by nationality ↗. Inclusion in lists makes it easier to search for pertinent biographies while providing a good overview of progress in different spheres.--Ipigott (talk) 15:24, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Miriam Shatal ↗

Hello, T. E. Meeks, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Chris troutman, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Miriam Shatal ↗, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Miriam Shatal ↗.

You might like to note that such discussions ↗ usually run for seven days and are ''not'' votes. And, our guide ↗ about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with <code><nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>Chris troutman<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>. And, don't forget to sign your reply with <code><nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></code> . Thanks!

Ancestry.com records

Hi, I saw the link you re-added to census records on ancestry.com. That link, however, gives 5817 search results, some of which are not consistent with each other (e.g., birth years on the first page of results range from 1847 to 1870) and may refer to different people by the same name. I intend to revert your edit for this reason. If you intend to use these records as a source, you'll need to link the specific record and have some way of knowing that it's the right one. (I can say from my own experience with genealogy research that verifying and cross-referencing old records is far from trivial.) That's one of the reasons why ancestry.com is not considered reliable and secondary sources are preferred. See also WP:PRIMARY ↗. Cheers, ComplexRational (talk) 14:17, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

:ComplexRational: Ancestry.com is behind a paywall. If you have trouble finding a record, most public libraries can access it for you. The federal census is done every 10 years and thus results cover decades. You can verify the individual’s identity by their middle initial as well as the age/spouse/children/address listed. Cheers! About Beatrice Witkin

Greetings! I just realized you had made a page about Beatrice Witkin back in 2020. I've recently come to find out, the ending theme to the show she worked on, Wild, Wild World of Animals, was solely composed by Gerhard Trede. Beatrice might've created the opening intro for the show.

I was able to obtain documents from the Eastman Museum, up in New York, which contains some production info relating to the show, specifically the shows composer, Gerhard Trede. Included are some invoices, which denote that Trede composed the ending song, and all of the cues used in the show. There's only 2 other mentions of a "theme song" in the invoices, but it was for another Time Life Television production called, Other People, Other Places.

If you need more information, I can happily provide all I can. I can be reached at conniejprocks@gmail.com C0NN1E Beep (talk) 23:54, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

:Thanks for this information, Connie. You may want to include it in the Beatrice Witkin article (with references) as additional information. Standard music references indicate that Witkin did compose a theme song for Wild, Wild World of Animals. Perhaps it was an opening theme as you suggest. Anyway, this is interesting! Thanks for letting me know about it! T. E. Meeks (talk) 12:31, 21 September 2022 (UTC)

Katherine Hoover talk page

Hello T. E. MEEKS

Katherine Hoover is known as a composer of contemporary classical music and music for flute.

My list of compositions in chronological order on her main page has many errors that I've corrected.

I have proposed an update that can be seen on Katherine Hoover's talk page.

If you are interested or know of somebody interested in reviewing my proposed update, I ask for your advise.

Unwarranted linking of your articles, again

Hello, there's nothing wrong with your article creations, but please be really careful about how you promote them across Wikipedia. this edit to Victor Hugo ↗ that you made less than 24 hours ago is so far beyond the pale that I'd honestly almost describe it as spamming;the least notable person in the list you added to, Édouard Lalo ↗, is several – perhaps hundreds – of orders of magnitude more notable as a composer than Eugenie de Santa Coloma Sourget ↗, by any measure I can possibly think of. Wikipedia summarises what secondary sources say about a topic, not what exhaustive library catalogues say (that would be a very different encyclopedia indeed). The problematic nature of your edits like this was affirmed by a couple of the editors in the admins' incidents noticeboard discussion ↗ I started about your editing pattern, who much more eloquently stated the issues I had with some of your edits; I'd strongly recommend reading that discussion and I'll mention this message to a couple of its participants. I came across you again because of this edit ↗ you made to Psalm 100 ↗, an article that I was reading. From a quick check of the Eugenie de Santa Coloma Sourget article, it also seems that you've haven't taken on board any of my advice above ↗, some of which related to accessibility. Users unresponsive to feedback don't tend to go well on this encyclopedia, in the long run. '''Graham'''<span style="color: green;">87</span> 18:55, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

Here's a relevant example from my recent editing ... when I found out that the Australian-British actor Kiruna Stamell ↗ was named after the small Swedish city of Kiruna ↗, I added the actor's article to the city's see also section ↗ ... because it's a city of just over 20,000 that people outside of Sweden would be vanishingly unlikely to have heard of, much less be named after. I would've rightly been accused of spamming in an equivalent situation if her first name had been, say, London! '''Graham'''<span style="color: green;">87</span> 19:12, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
:{{u|Graham87}} invited me to contribute here because I had participated in the WP:ANI ↗ discussion he links. I repeat what I said there, and endorse what he said both there and here.
:The relevant guideline is WP:INDISCRIMINATE ↗. In my opinion, Reynaldo Hahn ↗ is a minor composer, less significant than Edouard Lalo but more so than Eugenie de Santa Coloma Sourget. Hahn set Hugo, but is not mentioned in the latter's biography; nor, again in my opinion, should he be. Narky Blert (talk) 05:54, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

I have nominated you to be autopatrolled ↗.

See wp:Requests_for_permissions/Autopatrolled#User:T._E._Meeks ↗. If granted, this user right will automatically mark articles you create as reviewed, thus indexing them on search engines immediately. This has literally no effect on you, but may help to reduce the backlog of unreviewed articles for new page reviewer ↗s.

P.S. The inappropriate external links referred to are those to YouTube search queries, as seen in Jadwiga Sarnecka ↗, which are discouraged in the external links guideline ↗. Cheers, Mach61 (talk) 01:01, 10 February 2024 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 11

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sidney Lanier ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Evening song ↗. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. <small>(Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)</small>

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 05:53, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted

right|80px ↗
Hi T. E. Meeks, I just wanted to let you know that I have <span class="plainlinks">added ↗</span> the autopatrolled user right ↗ to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed ↗. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested ↗ on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers ↗.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject ↗ templates, stub tags ↗, categories ↗, and incoming links ↗ to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies ↗, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller ↗ yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! <span style="color:#850808;">firefly</span> <small>( t · c ↗ )</small> 12:37, 9 March 2024 (UTC)

Radecki

Thank you for adding Olga Radecki with a ref. Now it looks as if the ref for her supported also those who come before her by alphabet. Can you fix that, please? Also: is it possible for you to format the ref in the style of that article? Please do so ''whenever'' you add to an article, but especially when adding to those of acknowledged high quality. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:31, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

:How do I “fix that”? Put Olga first in the list, which would mess up the alphabetical order?
:Re formatting the ref in the style of the article: it is unclear to me on most articles what the style of the ref is, when different people keep adding different refs over time. Clearly the Clara Schumann article has been carefully formatted by you, but I don’t think that’s usually the case. T. E. Meeks (talk) 17:57, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
:: I am on vacation, have little time for Wikipedia, otherwise I would perhaps have been a little more polite and in explanation mood, sorry about that. What would you normally do when you have the problem? I couldn't believe that it didn't happen to you before, but may have been wrong, so worry about that as well. I am back from a day out, happy, and will do it for you, now that I have a few extra minutes. Please watch my changes and tell in case you don't understand. It shouldn't be difficult to look for a green cross or a platinum star to tell you: caution, GA ↗, FA ↗ (next time). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:26, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
:::I use the automatic ref formatting (when you click on EDIT, you access this formatting via the “ icon at the top of the page). I thought most people used this. It might be a good way to get standardized refs. T. E. Meeks (talk) 13:11, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :User T. E. Meeks/Fanny Puzzi ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗

A tag has been placed on :User T. E. Meeks/Fanny Puzzi ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. <!-- Template:Db-redirtypo-notice -->} the Doug hole (a crew 4 life) 16:07, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
Turns out you put that draft in article space by mistake. There's a colon before user subpages too.

April 2026

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi T. E. Meeks! I noticed that you recently made an edit&#32;at :Theodor Leschetizky ↗ and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit ↗" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typo ↗s or reverting obvious vandalism ↗. Any edit that changes the <em>meaning</em> of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. ''Not a big deal, but please keep it in mind for the future. :)'' <!-- Template:uw-minor --> CurryTime7-24 (talk) 22:25, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

:Hi Curry Time, I noted that the edit was about Marie Prentner (see revision history). My apologies if the “minor edit” box was accidentally checked. T. E. Meeks (talk) 12:15, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
