Your draft article, Draft:Austin Barber ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗

Hello, BeanieFan11. This message concerns the Articles for Creation ↗ submission or draft ↗ page you started, "Austin Barber ↗".

Drafts that go unedited for six months are eligible for deletion, in accordance with our draftspace policy ↗, and this one has been nominated for deletion. If your submission has already been deleted by the time you read this, you can '''request its undeletion''' ↗. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the draft so you can continue to work on it.

Regarding your QPQs

Hey BeanieFan11. I've noticed that, oftentimes, when you do nominations, you nominate first then pledge to provide a QPQ within two days. However, because WP:QPQ ↗ states that nominations can be closed at any time if no QPQs are provided, this leaves the possibility of your nominations being closed prematurely. Recently, some of your nominations were marked for closure because a QPQ was not provided immediately. Even though those issues have since been resolved, my suggestion is that you do your QPQs before nominating the articles for DYK, instead of after like you are currently doing. If the issue is that you do not have time to do reviews, you can hold off nominating the article until after you have accomplished your QPQs. Remember that you have seven days (plus up to two days extensions) to nominate an article, so you should have enough time to do the QPQs before nominating. Thank you and happy editing. <B><span style="color:#0038A8">Naruto</span><span style="color:#FCD116">love</span><span style="color:#CE1126">hinata</span>5</B> (talk · contributions ↗) 13:52, 10 November 2025 (UTC)

Help with reviewing and moving a sourced draft

Hello! I’m contacting you because you have experience with college football biographies, and I’d be grateful for your guidance.

I have created a fully sourced, policy-compliant draft for the article '''Danny Lauter''' in my sandbox:

User:Dlau1515/sandbox

The previous page was protected due to unsourced content, but I have rebuilt the article from scratch using only reliable secondary sources (ESPN, AP News, local newspapers, Patriot League releases, etc.). All claims are cited, and I have avoided any primary or non-independent sources.

Because the article title is still protected from creation/move, I cannot publish it myself. Would you be willing to:

In addition, I wanted to note that Google displays a full Knowledge Panel for “Danny Lauter” (including images, team info, statistics, and biographical data). I realize this cannot be used as a source in the article itself, but I mention it here only to show that the subject already has significant digital footprint and recognition across reliable, independent outlets. If helpful, I can provide links to the underlying independent sources that Google uses (ESPN, AP News, Greenwich Time, Patriot League, etc.).

I truly appreciate any help or feedback you can offer. Thank you for your time and for your excellent work on football related pages.

Hello BeanieFan11:

'''WikiProject Articles for creation ↗''' is holding a '''month long Backlog Drive ↗ in December!'''<br />
The goal of this drive is to '''reduce''' the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.

You may find :Category:AfC pending submissions by age ↗ or other categories and sorting ↗ helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.<br />
There is a backlog of over {{Rounddown|{{formatnum:3000|R}}|-2}} pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:07, 23 November 2025 (UTC)

Administrator Elections - Discussion Phase

<div style="border: 5px solid #ABCDEF ; padding:10px 15px">
<div style="display:flex; align-items:center;">
<div>
The discussion phase of the December 2025 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

We are currently in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages are open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship ↗. You may discuss the candidates at '''Wikipedia:Administrator elections/December 2025/Discussion phase''' ↗.

On December 9, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll ↗ software to vote, which uses a secret ballot ↗. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's totals during the election. You must be extended confirmed ↗ to vote.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which typically lasts between a couple days and a week. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page ↗ (you may want to watchlist this page) and transcluded to the main election page ↗. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate who has not been recalled ↗ must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and must also have received a minimum of 20 support votes. A candidate that has been recalled must have at least 55.0% support ↗. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ↗ ("crat chats").

Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page ↗. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Edit warring

Beanie, you've just reverted me three time, and I could report you for WP:3RR ↗. I like you, so I am not going to do that but this type of fighting should be avoided. I don't want to see you get blocked. As regards to notability tags. In general, I view tags as a diagnostic tool. Articles that don't have WP:SIGCOV ↗ present in the article can and should be notability tagged in my opinion. The tag shouldn't be removed until source presence has been addressed. That may not be how you perceive tags, but for me they are there to draw attention to ways articles can be improved. They aren't there for any other reason that to help target future editing. Best.4meter4 (talk) 22:05, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
::No offense, but you never actually presented any evidence of notability and never showed WP:NEXIST ↗. It's not unreasonable to want evidence of WP:SIGCOV ↗ (ie specific publications). Throwing out generic url searches with lots of hits that are largely trivial isn't showing NEXIST. You could weed through that search and find specific articles, and then give details about which ones actually have WP:GNG ↗ level sourcing. That would actually show notability, and address the tag. Until that evidence is in hand the tag should stay because requiring editors to prove a negative is impossible, and you could literally remove every notability tag ever placed anywhere under that logic which means there is no point to having notability tags.4meter4 (talk) 22:16, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
::: The first results in that link are many significant stories on him and clearly evidence his notability. He's an NHL player – almost no one seriously would think he's not notable. There is no requirement that sources be presented in the article for a subject to be notable – notability tags are for subjects which appear like they are not notable, not for subjects which are obviously notable based on their accomplishments but don't yet have sufficient sourcing. :: Interesting – that he defeated Bobby Jones head-to-head is impressive. BeanieFan11 (talk) 19:42, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
::Dang, how did Michael Menzinger ↗ not have an article? Not even a stub? <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 23:54, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
::: In my quest to write about every country, I've come across several subjects where I've been very surprised at the lack of an article. Mongush Buyan-Badyrgy ↗ (''founded a country''), Muhammad Tajuddin ↗ (Sultan of Brunei), Nuno Xavier ↗ (signed the document that made São Tomé and Príncipe a country) and Bethwel Henry ↗ (a founding father of the Federated States of Micronesia) are a few that come to mind. And there's lots of neat stories I've come across in writing all these foreign political figures. Like how John Mascarenhas ↗ impersonated the leader of the Seychelles anti-independence party to advocate ''for'' independence, Adam Sapi Mkwawa ↗'s quest to retrieve his grandfather's skull, Håkon Balstad ↗'s governing of half-destroyed Svalbard, the death of the last Easter Island monarch ↗, the politician known as "Buy Cash" ↗, and who could forget Stanislav Moroz ↗'s tenure as Acting Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic at the Second Extraordinary Congress of Deputies of the Transnistrian Region of All Levels? :) BeanieFan11 (talk) 01:55, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
::::Wow! Those are hidden gems. <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 02:04, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
::::: {{ping|WikiOriginal-9}} You might have seen, but I thought I'd mention that by you writing Nelson Whitney, I clicked and then began reading the article on Bobby Jones, which led me to click on the article about the U.S. Amateur ↗, and from there I noticed the most recent winner – Mason Howell ↗ (who, as a four-year-old, dressed up as Jones for Halloween) – was missing an article. Thus I wrote Howell in what turned out to be the very first article of 2026 :) BeanieFan11 (talk) 23:00, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
::::::You got the first edit too? Wow. Nice! <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 23:06, 1 January 2026 (UTC)

Just thought I would let you know in case you had energy around publishing your draft as interest could be at a high with the announcement. Rikster2 (talk) 16:57, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2026 WikiCup!

Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2026 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor, we hope the WikiCup will give you a chance to improve your editing skills as you go. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found '''here ↗'''. If you have not yet signed up, you can '''add your name here ↗''', and a bot will set up your submissions page within one day, ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page ↗.

For the 2026 WikiCup, the highest-ranking contestants will receive tournament points ↗ at the end of each round, and final rankings are decided by the number of tournament points each contestant has. This is the same scoring system that we had last year. If you're busy and can't sign up in January, don't worry: Signups are open throughout the year. To make things fairer for latecomers, the lowest-scoring contestants are no longer eliminated at the end of each round.

The first round will end on 26 February. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: {{User4|Cwmhiraeth}}, {{User4|Epicgenius}}, {{User4|Frostly}}, {{User4|Guerillero}} and {{User4|Lee Vilenski}}. Good luck! <small>If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send ↗.</small> MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 1 January 2026 (UTC)

First article ''and'' edit of 2026

Hello BeanieFan11! As a fun annual tradition of mine, I try to find the first and last edits of the year on New Years, based on UTC timestamps and revision IDs. After some digging, you appear to not only have the first edit of 2026, but also created the very first article of 2026 as well, with your creation of Mason Howell ↗! Congratulations! The very last edit of 2025 appears to have been 3PPYB6 hitting publish a little too early ↗. —&NoBreak;'''<span style="color:#0040FF">k6ka</span>''' <span title="Canadian!">🍁</span> (<span style="color:#0080FF">Talk</span> · <span style="color:#0B4C5F">Contributions</span> ↗) 01:26, 1 January 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :File:Frank Fitzgerald - Yanks.png ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗

A tag has been placed on :File:Frank Fitzgerald - Yanks.png ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because it is a non-free file ↗ from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press ↗, Getty Images ↗), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines ↗, please add the appropriate non-free use tag ↗ and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. <!-- Template:Db-badfairuse-notice --> <!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> <span class="nowrap" style="border:solid 4q magenta;border-radius:9in;box-shadow:0 0 9q magenta">&nbsp;<math>999</math>REAL 💬 ⬆ ↗ &nbsp;</span> 20:25, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

Wow

I was looking for sources for Dereck Brain ↗ and noticed the Grokipedia ↗ article. Talk about terrible. The "article" is 1,238 words long but it's basically not even about him. Throughout all of the sections it just says little is known about Brain and it goes off on tangents about other stuff. I've fact checked Groki on two other articles and found stuff wrong on both of them. Groki has a bible ↗ on LaDaris Vann ↗ for some reason even though he's not super-duper notable. It said he was on practice squad'''s''' but that's not true (he wasn't even on one practice squad, let alone plural). It also said he was released due to injury but the source did not say that at all. It was just a transaction listing that said he got released. I didn't fact check the whole article. Those are just a few things I noticed. I thought this passage was funny: "These short stints underscored persistent hurdles, including injuries that restricted playing time and the competitive nature of U.S. professional football, preventing long-term establishment in either the NFL or AFL." There was also a painter article I fact checked recently (don't remember his name) but it just completely guessed how long he was under the tutelage of another artist. The source didn't say anything one way or the other about it. <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 18:54, 21 January 2026 (UTC)

WikiCup 2026 March newsletter

The first round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As some of you may have noticed, good article nomination reviews ↗ now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP ↗. This point increase has been retroactively applied to all good article reviews for which competitors have claimed points in this round. Peer reviews ↗, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews ↗, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.

Round 1 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 300 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:

The full scores for round 1 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 7 featured articles, 16 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 168 good articles, 13 good-topic articles and more than 50 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 14 In the News ↗ articles, and they have conducted nearly 700 reviews. The tournament points table ↗ will be updated within the next few days.

Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed ↗. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup ↗, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Smilevski - quotation marks

Very near the beginning of the "Career" section, there are quotation marks used like this:

{{tq|1=During this time, he organized a trade union and "his apartment turned into the center of illegal revolutionary activity".}}

This gives readers a confused impression, because it isn't clear why you're using quotation marks, and they're normally not used on Wikipedia without a very good reason. Readers seeing these quotation marks might be wondering if they can trust you as an editor, or wondering if they can trust the source you used.

If the marks are just to say "this is not necessarily this editor's opinion", then the quotation marks should simply be removed - our opinions as editors are never allowed in articles anyway. If the marks are to warn readers "Borba is an important valuable source, but Borba's reporting on this topic might be biased", then it would probably be better to change it to something like this: {{tq|1=During this time he organized a trade union, and according to a report in Borba, his apartment turned into the center of illegal revolutionary activity.}} TooManyFingers <small>(''he/him'' ↗ · talk)</small> 15:58, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

Bo Levi Mitchell

You might not care about reading this but I think it's very interesting. Thank you for humoring me if you do take the time to read it and respond.

Did you know...

... that 2010s CFL All-Decade Team QB and future CFL Hall of Famer '''Bo Levi Mitchell ↗''' is objectively better than '''''48''''' NFL QBs?

I came up with these players below by going through the CFL starting QB lists (I already knew a lot of them though). The checkmark {{tick}} means Bo Levi is objectively better. {{not done}} means he isn't objectively better (he still debatably is though).

Here are 14 NFL '''''starters''''' (12 of which Bo Levi Mitchell is objectively better than) who were in the CFL at the same time as Mitchell (2012–present):

Here are 11 people (9 of which Mitchell is objectively better than) who were on NFL '''''active rosters''''' but didn't start an NFL game:

Here are 27 '''''offseason/practice squad''''' type NFL QBs (26 of which Mitchell is objectively better than) who have been in the CFL since 2012:

'''Practice squad'''

'''Offseason'''

And yet Bo Levi Mitchell was never even an NFL camp body. Make it make sense. Interested in reviewing Bo Levi Mitchell now? :) {{small|(Just kidding, you don't have to; that's not the reason I sent this message)}} Mitchell is also the newest member of the List of gridiron football passing leaders ↗. <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 19:03, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

:I updated ↗ the list: User:WikiOriginal-9/Bo Levi Mitchell. He is now objectively better than '''''106''''' NFL QBs. I went through the annual CFL roster lists on Wikipedia and added the CFL backups who were also in the NFL. I also looked through :Category:Canadian football quarterbacks ↗ and added some people. I didn't click on all 735 names. I just clicked on ones that looked familiar or suspicious. Like I said, yesterday I only went through the CFL starting QB lists (along with adding a few people that I specifically remembered like JT O'Sullivan and Vince Young). That's why there are so many more today. <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 17:53, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
:: Wow. And you're list includes someone I wrote the article for: Vincent Testaverde Jr. ↗ (who was briefly a backup to Mahomes in college) – in my collection I actually have several odd Vinny Testaverde items, such as a some pieces of a strip of 1987 photographic film ↗ from a game he played in, some signed game programs of him, etc. – someone on eBay was selling them really cheap one time. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:59, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
:::I went through everyone in the Canadian football QBs cat above and found eight more stragglers (there is a browser tool that lets you drag and open all of the links at once. And if your computer is good, it doesn't slow it down). The final count is now '''''114''''' NFL QBs whom are objectively worse than Bo Levi Mitchell. <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 18:26, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

Review request: Boyd Epley

Hi BeanieFan11! I hope you don't mind me reaching out directly.

A few months ago I created my first ever sports-related article — Boyd Epley ↗ — about the man widely regarded as the first full-time strength and conditioning coach in college football ↗.

I came across Boyd Epley through my own training background (I follow NSCA strength programs), so I knew his story well. But I'll be honest: American football is not really my area (I'm based in Europe), so I may have missed some nuances relevant to sports-related articles.

The article is already in the mainspace, but it seems to have gone unnoticed by Wikipedia:New pages patrol ↗. Given your experience and reputation in the football and sports topic area, I thought you might be the right person to ask: would you be willing to have a look and let me know whether the article is ready to be marked as reviewed at Special:Log ↗, or whether something needs to be improved first?

Thank you so much for your time! '''A'''lexandra '''G'''oncharik -'''sms'''- ↗ 10:47, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

Guidance on creating article about myself (COI disclosed)

Hello, I wanted to reach out regarding my situation and ask for guidance.
I believe there may have been confusion in the past related to multiple accounts. I want to be transparent that I am Danny Lauter, a college football quarterback, and I understand that I have a conflict of interest when it comes to articles about myself.
I am not looking to create or directly control an article, but rather to follow the correct process and ensure that any information written is accurate and properly sourced.
I would really appreciate any guidance on how to move forward appropriately, or if there is a recommended way for a neutral editor to review or create a draft based on reliable sources.
Thank you for your time and help. DannyLauter51 (talk) 18:52, 18 April 2026 (UTC)

WikiCup 2026 May newsletter

The second round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 April. As a reminder for contestants who just joined or are unaware of recent changes to our round-points system, good article nomination reviews ↗ now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP ↗. Peer reviews ↗, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews ↗, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.

Round 2 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; nine scored over 500; and fourteen scored over 300. The top seven contestants had at least one featured article ↗ (two of them with two apiece). The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:

The full scores for round 2 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 12 featured articles, 13 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 106 good articles, 22 good-topic articles and more than 40 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 3 In the News ↗ articles, and they have conducted over 200 reviews. The tournament points table ↗ has been updated.

Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed in Round 3. Good luck! <small>If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send ↗.</small> MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 14:48, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

May 2026 Administrator Elections – Voting Phase

<div style="border: 5px solid #ABCDEF; padding: 0.5em 1em 0 1em;" role="article">
right|80px ↗
The voting phase of the May 2026 administrator elections has started and will continue until {{Administrator elections status/data|May 2026|end}} at {{Administrator election time|end}} UTC. You can participate in the voting phase at '''Wikipedia:Administrator elections/May 2026/Voting phase ↗'''.

As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote ↗ has a week to use the SecurePoll ↗ software to vote, which uses a secret ballot ↗. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements ↗ are similar to those at RFA.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page ↗ (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page ↗. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall ↗ candidates must achieve 55.0% support ↗. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ↗ ("crat chats").

Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page ↗. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Hello {{BASEPAGENAME}},

'''Backlog update'''

At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

'''2024 and 2025 NPP Awards'''

74px|left ↗{{no ping|JTtheOG}} was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.
{{no ping|Hey man im josh}} and {{no ping|MPGuy2824}} won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

{{no ping|BoyTheKingCanDance}}, {{no ping|Rosiestep}}, {{no ping|SunDawn}}, and {{no ping|Vanderwaalforces}} were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame ↗ for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.

'''January–February backlog drive'''

The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to {{no ping|JTtheOG}}, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.

'''May backlog drive'''

An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026 ↗.

'''PageTriage'''

An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed ↗ to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket ↗ if you're interested in following along.

Just a reminder that if you want to move mainspace articles into draftspace due to problems with the editor who created them, then you need to disable the categories on the draft at the same time. Drafts have to be kept out of categories per WP:DRAFTNOCAT ↗, so you're making a lot of extra work for other people to clean up if you move pages to draftspace but leave the categories on them enabled. So if you want to keep doing that because of a bad creator, then please disable the categories on the page right away after moving it, instead of leaving that for me or Quinntropy or whoever else to clean up on your behalf. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 19:51, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

Syracuse Pros?

Hi BeanieFan, hope all is well. I'm not really sure what to make of the article at Syracuse Pros ↗. It seems like we've got a pretty serious case of original research going on through the article, but I don't know where to start cleaning up. Nifty

Check out this nifty table I made on my gridiron article creations: User:WikiOriginal-9/Articles created (gridiron football). Interesting fact: I've created 1,101 articles on NFL players (real games only). <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 18:19, 25 June 2026 (UTC)

You still have the most football GAs though. Most of Y10's articles aren't that detailed, lol. Other people just come along and expand them later. I can't actually view what my WP:NFL tagged total is since XTools doesn't seem to be working right now since I have so many edits :( I'm sure I have a few hundred more than 1,101 due to offseason/practice squad stuff. I think Y10 still has everyone beat though. I don't think there is anyone from the old days who stubbed out more than that unless I forgot someone?? {{small|I'll stop bugging you now}} <span style="color: blue">'''''~WikiOriginal-9~'''''</span> (<span style="color: blue">'''talk'''</span>) 16:39, 26 June 2026 (UTC)

I think Marty Norton ↗ is missing from your userpage. I was wondering what your longest articles are and I remembered that one. How is that not featured?? Seriously, something is wrong with Wikipedia if Norton can't become featured without a big fuss. Red Weiner ↗ and Ed Storm ↗ are also contenders. WikiCup 2026 July newsletter

The third round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 June at 23:59 (UTC). As a reminder, good article nomination reviews ↗ now receive 10 points, while peer reviews ↗, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews ↗, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 3 will advance to round 4 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.

Round 3 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; eight scored over 500; and thirteen scored over 300. The top three contestants had at least one featured article ↗ (two of them with two apiece). The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:

The full scores for round 3 can be seen here ↗. During this round, contestants have claimed 12 featured articles, 12 featured lists, 7 featured-topic articles, 117 good articles, 74 good-topic articles and more than 30 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 13 In the News ↗ articles, and they have conducted nearly 180 reviews. The tournament points table ↗ has been updated.

Remember that any content promoted after 28 June but before the start of Round 4 can be claimed in Round 4.
