{{Template:Can't retire}}
After some thought, and considering full or semi-retirement, per what is stated at WP:RETIRE ↗, possibly by December 31, 2025 as I noted in previous messages on here on 4/14/25 and 8/28/25, I have decided to drop that at this point. I may reconsider it in 2026, depending on what happens.--Historyday01 (talk) 15:12, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

'''Hello!'''
Feel free to post comments, suggestions, and whatnot, and I'll do my best to respond to them in a timely manner. ''Please'' do not '''''ever''''' invite me to participate in AfD ↗ discussions or those on the Reliable Sources Noticeboard ↗ (RSN), either by posting on this talk page or pinging me. If you do so, I ''politely decline'' to participate in such discussions. Engaging in such discussions is emotionally and mentally draining. I do not wish to be pulled into those discussions. Thanks.--Historyday01 (talk) 18:29, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
'''Reminder about talk page guidelines'''
WP:OTHERSCOMMENTS ↗ and WP:INTERLEAVE ↗ state:
<blockquote> Never edit or move someone's comment to change its meaning, even on your own talk page...Generally, you should not break up another editor's text by interleaving or interpolating your own replies to individual points. This causes confusion with who said what and obscures the original editor's intent.</blockquote>
WP:TALKOFFTOPIC ↗, which lists examples of appropriately editing others' comments (italics is my emphasis):
<blockquote>Personal talk page cleanup...Removing prohibited material such as libel; legal threats; personal details; content that is illegal under US law; or violations of copyright, living persons, or anti-promotional policies...Removing harmful posts, including personal attacks, trolling, and vandalism. This generally does not extend to messages that are merely uncivil; deletions of simple invective are controversial. Posts that may be considered disruptive in various ways ''are another borderline case and are usually best left as-is or archived''...Your idea of what is off topic may differ from what others think is off topic, so ''be sure to err on the side of caution''</blockquote>
WP:TALK#REPLIED ↗ states (italics is my emphasis):
<blockquote>''So long as no one has yet responded to your comment'', it's accepted and common practice that you may continue to edit your remarks for a short while to correct mistakes, add links or otherwise improve them. If you've accidentally posted to the wrong page or section or if you've simply changed your mind, it's been only a short while and no one has yet responded, you may remove your comment entirely. But if anyone has already replied to or quoted your original comment, changing your comment may deprive any replies of their original context, and this should be avoided. Once others have replied, or even if no one's replied but it's been more than a short while, if you wish to change or delete your comment, ''it is commonly best practice to indicate your changes''...To add an explanation of your change, you may add a new comment directly below your original or elsewhere in discussion as may be most appropriate; insert a comment in square brackets.</blockquote>
WP:OWNTALK ↗ states:
<blockquote>User talk pages must serve their primary purpose, which is to make communication and collaboration among editors easier. Editors who refuse to use their talk page for these purposes are violating the spirit of the talk page guidelines, and are not acting collaboratively. The length of user talk pages, and the need for archiving, is left up to each editor's own discretion. Although archiving is preferred, users may freely remove comments from their own talk pages. Users may also remove some content in archiving.</blockquote>
WP:BLANKING ↗ states:
<blockquote>Policy does not prohibit users, whether registered or unregistered, from removing comments from their own talk pages, although archiving is preferred. If a user removes material from their talk page, it is normally taken to mean that the user has read and is aware of its contents; this is true whether the removal was manual or automatic. There is no need to keep them on display, and usually users should not be forced to do so.</blockquote>

This information is not important to the LGBTQ representation and can already be found earlier in the article. I just cut it straight to the facts that Daisy sleeps with a woman in the second episode. I cut both of the citations since neither of the sources metion anything about her lesbianism. :I thought your recent edit was generally fine, but the other one was done without explaining '''''why''''' content was removed. I don't know how I was supposed to assess an edit when there's no explanation as to why it's done. Your edit actually did make sense, and I implemented it here ↗, but those sources didn't need to be cut, they just needed to be moved to the right section.--Historyday01 (talk) 01:57, 28 January 2026 (UTC)

Terminology
I had a talk with user:BradyBunchFan ↗ on the live help chat (on IRC). They were unaware of WP:ABOUTSELF ↗ as an exception to the general ban on social media as a source (as I often say, "Wikipedia is very big and nobody can know all of it"), and I hope that you can understand that they meant well. As well, I would point out that terms like "renegade" ↗ can be hurtful. DS (talk) 18:24, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
:Sorry, I was just a bit frustrated. I won't use that term again. I am hoping for a better source, honestly. Ettarh apparently has an obituary but... the link to it doesn't come up with anything ↗ and the best I could find with an alternate source was this ↗, as links like this ↗ clam she cannot be found (and no one archived the obituary either). Considering how prominent she was in the community of librarians, I imagine that someone else will write a tribute/obituary in the coming days. Historyday01 (talk) 18:29, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

Hey! I don't know if this is yuri or not, but someone added this to the yuri anime list ↗ with Anilist as the source (apparently due to user tags). Please check it out! Discussion about Danmei
Sorry for bothering you. I sincerely appreciate you for your kind reminder and ardent participation in this entry. I "bludgeoned" for three reasons: firstly, this is my first time to have a discussion with someone on Wikipedia, so I don't know that rules applies even in a talk. Secondly, Hadal seldom read my messages carefully, so think i should emphasize it more(but even at such a frequency he still misconstrued my viewpoint). Thirdly, in China, one may not restrict himself or other to send many messages in a discussion. I'm personally a gay, so I "jumped" out for a rectification... Women in Red
Hi there, Historyday01, and thank you for your interesting comment on the WiR talk page. I see that you have in fact created a number of detailed women's biographies and have a pending draft on Brittany Spanos ↗. You might find it useful to join Women in Red where we could try to help you along and you could continue to contribute to our discussions. You can sign up under "New registrations" on Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/New members ↗. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 09:46, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
:Thanks for your comment. I didn't create the Spanos page myself, but I am only watching it on the event that I have time to work on it. Historyday01 (talk) 12:44, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
::Well thanks to your own detailed work on women's biographies, you'll probably not find it too difficult to bring Spanos up to an acceptable level of notability. But it would also be great if you could find time to work on new candidates for articles of your own. Still looking forward to your sign up - but no obligation. Just keep in touch.--Ipigott (talk) 14:13, 26 March 2026 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to :List of transgender people ↗. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments ↗ to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview ↗ button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in yellow at the top of the page. Thanks.<!---Template:Uw-dupargs---> '''<span style="color:#00d5ff !important">Zack</span><span style="color:#007F94 !important">mann</span>''' (Talk to me ↗/<span style="color:orange !important">What I been doing</span> ↗) 18:00, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
:Thanks for the comment. It was just'' a LOT'' of sources to update and I did use the preview button, but I ''couldn't find'' where those errors were. There are plans to break apart that list, so it should, hopefully, be easier to ensure that those errors aren't repeated in the future. In solidarity ↗ - Historyday01 (talk) 18:50, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
::All good! I applaud your efforts. You should check out the userscript User:Frietjes/findargdups which DRAMATICALLY helps with this issue. List of transgender people
Hi, I'd like to thank you for the edits you made to this page and also clarify something about an edit I made. When I added Pepita to the list, I don't remember changing "born" to "b.", but the revision history said I did. I don't know if it's some strange Wiki mechanism or something, I just wanted to clarify that it wasn't my intention :) Questionadora ávida (talk) 12:50, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
:Ah okay. It must have been a strange Wiki mechanism. I'm slowly trying to add back most of the people I removed, mainly because the sourcing wasn't good, not because I don't think those entries aren't notable. In solidarity ↗ - Historyday01 (talk) 13:02, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

Removal of Jax from trans character list
Hello.
I would like to note that unlike in other edits, I specified in the efn note that Jax is not only implied, but confirmed by the cast and creator to be transgender. Most revisions were done due to the fact that it was just merely implied, now, it no longer is the case. Besides, the talk page mentioned does not really conflict with the addition of the character. VitoxxMass (talk) 16:21, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
:Okay. I still strongly believe it is better to wait ''until'' the discussion on Talk: The Amazing Digital Circus ↗ ends (which it likely soon will) BEFORE adding any characters from ''The Amazing Digital Circus ↗'' to that page, as it will actually be ''easier'' without having to write an entire entry and explain parts of it in an efn note, as you could copy part of the finished note on the ''The Amazing Digital Circus ↗'' page and ''use that'' in an entry. Also, there are ''additional'' sources in that talk page discussion which were not in the entry you wrote either, so some/all of those would need to be added into an expanded entry as well. I just think it would be wrong to add the entry when that discussion is still ongoing. That's just my strong view on it. I just want the entry to be the strongest it can be, and what you put together was good, but it could be much better. In solidarity ↗ - Historyday01 (talk) 18:54, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
